Opana ER (oxymorphone): Opana ER was the absolute best pain medication for long term use that I have ever used. I was on the medication for approximately 21/2 to 3 years until I developed a severe itching problem (head to soles of feet) from its use. If that had not happened I would still be using it and be virtually pain free 24/7.

Opana (oxymorphone): Currently taking 2 x 10mg ER and up to 4 x 5mg IR. Tolerance has developed quickly, what used to take the pain away only half way dulls it now. My doctor is not convinced of my pain, I have asked for more but he without coming right out and saying no has refused me increased dosage. My advice is even though Opana works well initially, you will develop tolerance rapidly and require more in order to provide pain relief. I do have several bulging discs but for some reason my doctor does not see this as cause to increase the dose, only continue the same dose that I began with about 9 months ago. Sorry for the rant but it may be something you might have not considered if I had not brought it up. From what I have gathered from independent research of Opana and Oxycodone, Opana has the greatest tolerance increase potential between the two.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I have been in back pain since 2001 after a truck accident. I have been on many different pain medicines. I just recently got on Opana ER 20mg every 12 hours. My pain level has gone down. I also have had a nerve block that didn't help very much at all. My L1-L2-L3-L4-L5 and S1 are buldging and spine is deteriorating. I also have to take Percocet 5/325 twice a day. Not totally pain free yet but better.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I just started with Opana ER 5mg every 12 hours. The first time I used it, it did help with the pain, not much but a little. Then after a few days, I started suffering from some of the side effects. Anxiety attacks that verged on the near panic attack stage, difficulty breathing, and a few others. I told my doctor that I have heart problems, asthma, and a history of seizures, but he decided that he would give it to me anyway. I am glad that Opana ER works for some, but it is not the one for me.

Opana (oxymorphone): Works much better than the oxy's for my arthritis. I don't get such wicked side effects, either. The Opana winds me up but not nearly as much as the Oxycontins. Also, the hot flashes are nowhere close to what they were.

Opana (oxymorphone): Opana has worked better than anything I have been prescribed. I have several bulging discs, 4 in the lower back and 4 mid back. I was taking 3000 milligrams of Vicodin daily, 8 to 10 x 325 mg tabs. Now, I take 2, 20 milligram Opana daily, and only 2 or 3 Vicodin as needed. Be sure to take Opana on an empty stomach, and don't eat for about 2 hours. Opana is incredible, my next Doctor's visit, I will request a slightly higher dose, and quit the Vicodin all together. Thank you Opana!

Opana (oxymorphone): Opana is a great pain killer but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer such as hydrocodone in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to Morphine-sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine.

Opana (oxymorphone): I have been on Opana 20mg ER for almost a year now. I changed to Opana as my insurance would no longer cover the Oxycontin. It took my doctor almost 6 months to figure out a dose that was acceptable to me. Aside from occasional head sweats I like the Opana a lot. Every once in a while I experience night terrors, but do not know if they are related to the Opana or not. As far as my pain is concerned, they seem to do the job well, and I do not get the side effects that I got with the Oxycontin.

oxymorphone: This is the best pain medicine I have ever used, and I have used many. I have a 4 level fusion in my neck that didn't fuse, and it was attempted twice. Lower back surgery as well. Broken hip, bad left knee, bad left ankle. I was paralyzed briefly in an atv accident back in '01. Hydrocodone and oxycodone only lasted 2 hours or so. The pain was about to disable me. This drug is simply amazing. I do not get "high", or feel a "buzz". No side effects, but possibly some impotence. Taking 30mg every 12 hours, with a 10mg dose 3 times a day for "breakthrough pain". After 8 hours or so, the 30mg wears off rather quickly. Many pharmacies don't stock opana, and I have trouble getting refills when out of town. Keep that in mind.

Opana (oxymorphone): The best pain relief I've ever had. I sometimes have trouble urinating while taking them, but I've found that drinking some grapefruit juice or a glass of beer helps out a lot.

Opana (oxymorphone): I was on 200 mcg of Fentanyl Patchs, and 100mg of MS Contin 3 times a day and 30mgs of MSIR (instant release morphine) 3 times a day for almost 7 years for these horrible migraines I have constantly. These medicines were not helping anymore after being on them for so long. About 6 months ago I changed doctors who switched me to Opana ER. I am taking 80mgs every 12 hours along with 600mcg Fentora 3 times a day for breakthrough pain. I have not had any side effects from the Opana at all which is wonderful and I can function daily and not be laid up in bed constantly. I would definitely recommend Opana ER but just think about something for breakthrough pain in case it is needed.

Opana (oxymorphone): Love it! Nothing better, works wonders for chronic migraines and arthritis plus it gets me back on my feet as if I was a teen again. Gives me the little boost needed to get me through my day with limited side effects. I would recommend doctors prescribe this medicine over any other narcotic pain killers. This pill has really saved my life. It's truly amazing.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I recently started on Opana ER 20 mg, every 12 hours with Opana 5 mg as needed (up to two) for break through pain. Opana is amazing. I have very little break through pain and it's not bad at all. I have no side effects from the Opana and was taking a total of 60 mg's of Norco (per 24 hours) prior to this. The best thing is no more horrible pain like when the Norco was wearing off. I feel human again and can shop and do things I did before I got hurt. I would like to note that I have read a lot of things on various web sites that seem as though people are looking to get high from pain medicines as opposed to live pain free from them. After I had my surgery a year ago I had that horrible feeling of being "stoned" from simple Hydrocodone and I hated it.

Opana (oxymorphone): Was on Oxycontin 160mg every 12 hours for 4 years and had tried Opana at same dose last year WITHOUT BEING TOLD TAKE ON EMPTY STOMACH, so when my new doctor changed me at first I was scared and skeptical, however 25 days on 40mg Opana every 12 hours ON EMPTY TUMMY and I am AMAZED. I believe if we increase daytime dose a tad I will feel better than I have in 18 years, so anyone who didn't have a good experience with it needs to think if they ate with it. My doctor said if there is ANY food in your stomach the food absorbs part of it and it doesn't get in your system as well and it WILL NOT WORK FOR THE 12 HOURS IT SHOULD. I saw people making both statements so I hope this will help others.

oxymorphone: I am 47, disabled by the government. I have Chronic Pain for over 20 years. I have had my right knee operated on 9 times. A knee replacement and a knee revision. I've had my back fused at L4 & L5 (and need more fusing). With working in the pharmacy field for over 30 years, I have used every pain medication that has come out. I do not believe I am getting the relief I should be with Opana ER. I take 20mg twice a day plus Percocet 7.5mg/325mg three times a day as needed. The pain is unbearable. After 1 hour of taking the medication I still feel like I haven't taken anything. The Percocet's help some, but I can't take them every 4 hours. I just want some relief and this drug doesn't give total relief.

Opana (oxymorphone): I am permanently disabled due to brain surgery leaving me with a condition called occipital neuralgia (headaches 24/7). Opana is a wonder drug for me. I tried every single other treatment I could find, from physical cures, psychological cures, to every other narcotic available. It is now time for me to get off of the drug because my body has finally become used to this pain enough where I hope that I do not need drugs for the rest of my life. Right now I am taking Opana 40mg ER X 4 = 160mg ER and Opana 10mg X 4 = 40mg per day. My total Opana consumption daily is 200mg. I just finally got up enough guts to ask my doctor to cut my dosage back so I am going to try to cut the Opana 40mg ER down to Opana 30mg ER X 4 = 120mg ER.

Opana (oxymorphone): I have suffered with pain for many years and have tried almost everything. I started Opana in January of this year. In February my platlet count dropped to 3,000 with an equally low white count. This happened again in May. I have also had many gastrointestinal problems. The doctors after many tests can only say that Opana looks like the cause.

Opana (oxymorphone): I have Lupus, arthritis and had most of my back crushed in a auto accident. Opana is the ONLY pain medication that has relieved a majority of my pain throughout the day. I take 40mg every 8 hours and I am able to walk around and do things I couldn't do before when I was on the patches and all the other drugs I tried. Opana is the best long term medication that keeps working without fail for me.

Opana (oxymorphone): This medicine has been very effective however it doesn't last the full 12 hours of pain relief as it is prescribed. For me it lasts about 8 hours. I did get horrible constipation so stay hydrated. Never flush unused drugs down the toilet. It can severely effect fish and other animals along the watershed. Water treatment plants do not treat for disposed drugs.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): This medication has given me no pain relief. All it has done is give me about every side effect listed in the warnings and a few more. After a Utility pole fall over 15 years ago I was doing just fine on Flexeril until I had a drug interaction and my doctor has been searching ever since for another drug. I have tried 3 different ones at this point and am getting frustrated.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I have spinal stenosis and compressed discs. They said I could not have surgery because of other health issues so medication was the only alternative. Taking Opana ER, I am able to do things I need to do. I can do so much more than I was able to do before. Before taking Opana I was in a wheelchair and cane. All I could do was lay on the bed or couch. I am now taking 20 mg every 12 hours. This is the only drug that has ever helped me.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I crashed a motorcycle almost ten years ago at 80 mph. I am lucky to be alive and walking. I have tons back problems now though. The doctors fed me high doses of every narco out there. I became addicted to the feeling of being painfree, no matter how many pills I had to take. Life got unmanagable and I was tired of it. After ten years of this I decided to start from scratch and clean up and get re-evaluated and try a different path. I was put on suboxone 8mg for about 8 months to treat the addiction. After that I had no desire to put a pill in my mouth. SUBOXONE WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. Just taking Opana ER 30mg twice a day now.

oxymorphone: I'm happy to read so many others who have been helped by this medication. I've been taking it for over a year now, each time my pain doctor increases it a bit (I'm now taking 50 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night). Unfortunately, I really don't notice that much pain relief from this medication. I take Norco for "breakthrough pain" and it seems as though I need to take that 4 times a day along with this for relief of my back pain.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I have been in terrible lower back pain for over 2 years. After numerous MRI's and other tests and alot of different doctors, nothing showed up that should be causing that much pain. They did find a problem in my L1 disc but nothing major. I have a very high tolerence for pain and could barely function. All the different doctors put me on Vicodin 10/325 but it only worked for an hour. The doctors treated me as if I was a drug addict even my pain management doctor. After I took a so called routine drug test, my very next visit after she saw I passed my drug test she put me on Opana ER 20mg. Instantly my back pain was 90% gone. I don't feel high, just pain free. I forgot what that felt like. My pain level went from a 10 to a 3 instantly.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): For years, I have had L1-L2 pain from a compression fracture and moderate disc degeneration. The pain relief from this is so much better than anything else I have taken, and I can go about my normal life without feeling drugged up like Oxycontin or other narcotic pain killers. Not 100% relief yet though. I've only had it for a few weeks and my doctor and I are still working to find the right dosage. I'm on 15mg every 8 hours at the moment and will probably move up to 20mg soon. It's very promising though.

Opana ER (oxymorphone): I've had one back surgery so far, a L5 S1 fusion which didn't work and I'm in alot of pain. I have tried many other pain medications, narcotic and non-narcotic to try to manage my pain, along with acupuncture and physical therapy. Finally my doctor gave me Opana (extended and immediate release) and I get such wonderful much needed pain relief from them. I still get some breakthrough pain but these work so much better than anything else I have tried, including oxycontin, and I'm so thrilled.

Opana (oxymorphone): I have been taking 4 of the 40mg for about two years, because it works better than anything else I have had, and that is every other narcotic, for my spondilolisthesis. It kills the pain and I can work like a 20 year old and do everything I want, but without it, I feel like the 48 year old I am. I highly recommend this pain medicine to anyone with chronic pain. I would much rather take these than have bone fusion surgery.

Also have nerve root damage, which causes pain radiating to my left hip, left leg, and bottom of feet. I take 2, Opana ER 20mg tablets a day. Opana ER works fairly well on controlling my back pain, while it's not eliminated totally, I'm able to function better on most days with the help of Lortab 10 mg for breakthrough pain along with my Opana ER.

Opana (oxymorphone): Been on fentanyl patches for 3+ years now. Wear 2 50mcg patches. Recently started on Opana er 20mg twice a day and only wearing 1 patch changed every 48 hours. Pain level has gone up slightly but also side effects from the patch have decreased which to me for now is a acceptable trade off. Breakthrough pain occurs sooner, but have not tried the higher dosage yet. Have somewhat raised expectations to come off patches by end of the year.

Opana (oxymorphone): The doctor's instructions were to take 1-2-or 3 tablets at bedtime for cervical pain. I tried 3 on 3 different evenings and, unfortunately, had absolutely no pain relief. I also tried for pain in hip and thigh with no results. (I do have a very high pain threshold and, consequentially, need strong pain meds). Haven't yet found drug for pain relief at night.
