Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I had Botox in bladder 10 days ago and it has only made my bladder worse.instead of going to the toilet every 20 minutes I'm now going every 5! I'm not sleeping and have had really bad urine infection! I was back in hospital on Sunday! I would not recommend anyone getting this done. I have suffered with bladder problems for 17 years and getting really down about it all now! I have no idea what to do now."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I got botox October 1st 2019 for urinary problems and they said it takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks to 6 weeks to work. The procedure is very painful. And takes about 1 hour. The aftermath this has caused I would never wish on anyone. Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "Worst decision I ever made as I am far worse now with frequency, always feeling like I need to urinate, UTIs and pain. Can't sleep at night with going to the bathroom 8 or more times, and lack of sleep triggered my depression."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Cervical Dystonia "I have Cervical Dystonia and the first time I received the shots they didn't work I felt like it made it worse but doctor said everything I was going though was normal it would get better, she said just put ice on my neck and if that didn't help try a heating pad that didn't help so I desided not to have the shots any more, but about 6 months later I decided maybe I should try the shots again so I did and I'am glad I did because they worked the second time. I have to say when I get the shots and they hurt really bad they seem to work better I know that sounds crazy but its because she is getting the muscle that is causing the dystonia to act up. I'm really glad I give it a second chance. So if you are like me and gave up maybe try it again."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "First had Botox injections March of 2016. Doctor stated it would last six to nine months. Lasted 13 months and no side effects. Last week had my second injection as an outpatient. Took about five days to have me back to normal. Best choice I made for my OAB. No problems at this time and hoping it last at least nine months."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Cervical Dystonia "In 2000 I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia. I received my first series of Botox injections in October 2001 & right away I could tell it was a great relief. In 2004, I started having difficulty with more head tremors. I started on a low dose of Klonopin at just 0.5 mg as needed. It keeps my head pretty stable without the tremors & I can attend events, etc. and feel pretty confident. I would like to recommend a wonderful organization that I joined in the beginning that really provided a lot of useful information. The National Spasmodic Torticollis Association has a yearly weekend symposium where they have noted speakers & doctors talking on dystonia & the newest breakthroughs. I went to one that was held out here on the east coast close to my home & it was very informative & encouraging to meet others with the same disorder. Don't ever give up!! Good luck and God bless."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine "This treatment was a nightmare. My neurologist did not warn me of any potential side effects. The botox injections took 5 minutes and didn’t hurt much. I had a migraine the rest of the day. I developed a bad headache on day 2, and on day 4 I had the worse migraine ever. It didn’t let up for over a week. My neck was too weak to support my head. I was dizzy and nauseous from the cervical instability. I was told this was normal and was shocked my neurologist hadn’t warned me! I was in severe pain and super dizzy/nauseous for two full weeks. And the treatment didn’t help my headaches at all; in fact it made them worse."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Incontinence "First, let me state that all of us need to be our own advocates and educate ourselves regarding this procedure. Don't just go by what the doctor says. Read the literature, the research, and make an informed decision. I have MS, and had bladder problems (Neurogenic Bladder ) for over 20 years. I tried every single medication; nothing worked. Acupuncture didn't help. My Dr. and I discussed Botox. This was my choice: Office (local) or hospital (general) anesthetic? General. It was great. Total time under? 11 minutes. The NEXT DAY MY INCONTINENCE WAS GONE!!! No self-cath. No UTIs. No pads. Slept through the night! I had it in April. I would have had 2nd injection, but have had a bad cold and chest infection. Wearing off slowly, but need next one. Love it!"

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I just had another round of Botox injections three days ago. While I did get a uti from the procedure and it was a bit difficult to void the first two days I am 100% now. I even went to work the following day. I also had this procedure in March of 2015. That one didn't go so well in the beginning but I think it was because I was in a INTERSTITAL CYSTITIS flare. If you have it I feel your pain. After my flare calmed down I noticed the Botox actually worked really well. This time I made sure I was not in a flare before Botox and all is good. This is a last line of treatment for me and at just 31yrs old I'm so glad I have found it. It is not a lifelong fix it will most likely require treatment every three months to a year everyone is different"

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "In 2004 I began to have migraines which grew progressively worse over time. After years of daily bouts with migraines that were at a 7 out of 10 on good days (not to mention that I couldnt take triptans because they gave me chest pains) my local VA began offering this new treatment called Botox and I was approved for it. I'm not 'cured' by any means but my life somewhat resembles a life now for a few hours a week. My good days are few but I am grateful for what I can get. I still get horrible migraines but I'll take several migraines per week vs. several per day. It reminds me not to waste my time when I have it; I I try to get stuff done. So I say to anyone, give it a try. It may or may not work for you but you should at least give it go."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "I had my first lot of Botox yesterday. 31 injections, for chronic daily headaches and migraines. I was just wondering if how I'm feeling after is seemed as normal? My eyes feel very droopy and it makes it feel as though my vision has being affected. Also in still having a lot of pain in my head (not a typical headache or migraine) more pain and numbness where the injections have been - especially my forehead. I also keep going very light headed when I'm doing things, and feeling very faint so I haven't being able to do a lot. Can anyone please let me know if it's normal to get these types of reactions? Thank you"

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "1st Botox shots 11/2015. Wasn't able to get another tx until 10 days ago. The 1st time it was great! Migraines down to about 2/mo. Loved it! This time the day after I woke w/back of neck very painful. Worse was pain in the back of head. Felt like hit w/a 2x4. Very bad headache too. It was horrible. I get pain med for other issues & it did nothing. Head swolIen, tight glasses. Some pain in my L shoulder down arm. It asted 5 days, in bed w/heating pad. 7th day worst pain gone but need hand under chin or on back of head to control head movement due to weak neck. Don't wake w/neck pain, but it starts after moving a bit. If I'm on my feet, dizzy. Weak jaws when eating or drinking. Head turns only 2" to L or R side. Weak upper arms. Never again."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I'm on my 3rd dose of Botox. I have bladder incontinence. My bladder was in a constant spasm. It was hard to leave the house After trying pills after trying Depends after having a few accidents I agreed to the Botox injections. I found the procedure uncomfortable but maybe for 5 minutes. It took most of the first year to get used to using a cath as a norm. You can get reusuable ones or pre-lubricated once. I now use the later but they are more expensive. The first round lasted 1 year the second round lasted 6 months and now I'm on my third round. The first and third round more Botox was used. I love it. No more leaks, accidents. I can sleep all night. Take long walks, long car rides."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I had the Botox in October 2018 for an overactive bladder. I got told I could go into retention for a few days. This was the worst decision of my life. 3 days after the procedure I couldn’t pee I was in agony so I got taken to A&E I was admitted and was in for 13 days. I had an infection and was in retention fully, had a fullness feeling and was in chronic pain. I got discharged with catheters and I was so sore using the catheters I couldn’t use them. So ended up back to A&E admitted again another 5 days with a indwelling catheter in this time. Then came home 3 days later the catheter got blocked the pain was that bad I couldn’t walk, sit, stand or anything. I was sick so back again to A&E admitted again it’s now middle of January I’m no better. I’m still using catheters. I've got the fullness feeling and can’t get on with my life. I don’t get any feeling of needing a wee. All I can say is please look into it properly before deciding to have this. It is not worth it at all !!!!"

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "My husband had prostate surgery (TURP) for an enlarged prostate in January (11 months ago). Ever since, he has had annoying leakage. The doctor mentioned two options - Botox or an implanted device. He said Botox had "99% success rate" so my husband opted for that. Ever since, a nightmare. At first, he simply could not pee at all. He had an indwelling catheter for a while, and since has had to do self-catheterization four times a day (still cannot pee a drop). The Botox must have relaxed the bladder too much? Plus there was a LOT of old blood in his bladder, presumably from the Botox injections. The doctor said it was not possible to be from the catheters. And he has a UTI. The slight leakage seems like NOTHING next to this nightmare."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "For the first time in 50 years, I have relief from migraines, since using botox. I have a life now. I can make plans. For the first 4-5 days after botox, I hurt from the injections, my neck hurts, but then I feel great for almost 3 months. It's not 100% as I still get migraines but, they come less frequently and last for a shorter time. I would tell people that it worth trying. A little bit of pain for 12 weeks almost pain free. I love it. It has changed my life."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I had Botox for my overactive bladder and I must stay it is a miracle. 100%. Effective. Zero side effects. After almost 20 years of worsening incontinence, one treatment restored me to normal control, like when I was a teenager. The procedure is a little painful, but totally worth it. I’m 71 years old . Medicare covered it. I tried acupuncture in the ankle prior to this as a treatment, it was 100% ineffective."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "I did not have a good result with Botox for migraines. It gave me MORE pain and headache that lasted for the most part of one month. Pain in shoulders and neck, a tight feeling across the forehead like a band-aid being pulled very tight. Horrible extreme headache that would come go. One morning bout 2 weeks later, I woke up alarmed because the pain in my forehead had radiated to my face. Very tight feeling and pulling across my cheekbones. I would never do this again- it did not help my headaches"

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I had a botox injection into my bladder on June 21st and last year for four days I was fine and it felt funny not having pee running down my legs then a couple days later I broke out really bad with rash all over my body and very sick and into the emergency room at two different hospitals. I had a hard time breathing, sick to stomach and I could no longer urinate and had to use catheters for two weeks and I had to be put on 1 and a half worth of steroids pills and injections. I almost died from not having anyone explain to me more about the dangers. I am not still feeling like I was before the Botox. I had one injection that almost killed me. You will not submit because you don't want other patients to know the truth about what happened to me. But I will make sure that the media will know and inform the public as to what Botox can and will do to some women like me."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I've had Interstitital Cystitis ( IC) for about 6 years or so. Some pain while peeing and bladder pain. Last Feb 2015 the Urologist inserted the Botox into my bladder. My life for the past year and a half has been miserable to say the least. Never had problems before with incontinence but boy do I have it now. For the past year and a half I've had to wear Depends during the day and at night I have to wear an External Catheter and drain bag. My desire to do anything is not there anymore where before I was always pretty active. My Urologist doesn't understand why I'm having this outcome. He has other patients that do the Botox for the IC and had good results. Never again. Don't know if this stuff will ever wear off."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "Had the Botox for overactive bladder November 21, 2015. Two days ago had the follow up. Everything went well at the operation, I could void before going home, little bleeding which soon stopped. Having some trouble emptying showing over 200 after voiding. I'm going to work on voiding completely. I do not wake up the 6 to 8 times at night now to use the restroom, I may wake once now. When going anywhere, now I'm not tied to the need to use the restroom every half hour like before. My urgency, frequency are more like normal now. Taking this time to work real hard on keegle's see in six months if that helps at all. BTW I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. I would highly recommend this procedure."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "I was diagnosed with migraines at 19, and there has been a steady increase in frequency and severity as I aged. At 49 they became intractable and I ended up on disability. Botox became the last option. It's been nothing short of a miracle. My cluster and ice pick ha's stopped, I've had only two throbbing migraines in 4 mos, and my photosensitivity has improved. It took about 10 days for it to kick in the first time. The pokes of the injections are a very small price to pay for the benefit I've seen."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Migraine Prevention "I am finished with Botox!!! The first round of 30 shots were hell afterwards! I had migraines/chronic neck pain/headaches for a month. Then I had three weeks of no migraines/headaches/neck pain. I thought I died and went to heaven. And then it all came back. Honestly, I was actually dreading the second round of Botox, but I knew I had to give it one more chance. The second round was worse!!! I wake up with what feels like a vice on my neck. Immediately I had 23 days of migraines/severe headaches straight. There is no way to explain what it feels like to lay in bed with lights off, no sound or very faint, and being in your head feeling so alone. Luckily, I have had no migraines for three weeks now but horrible headaches and a very painful neck. Migraines are the the most misunderstood, complicated illnesses both for the person who has them and secondary to that is understanding from friends and family members. It really wears me down when I have these everyday."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I had Botox for overactive bladder December 13, 2018. Within a week I couldn’t urinate at all and had to start self cath. 6 months later I’m still having to cath and have had 6 bladder infections that are becoming resistant to most antibiotics. I’ve even had to have a PICC line for IV antibiotics. This has changed my life and not in a good way. I see no end in site for the self caths and scared this could be continue forever."

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) for Urinary Frequency "I'm am shocked to hear how disappointed everyone is with Botox and I'm sad too. I completely understand the frustration, embarrassment and all round annoyance of peeing yourself. I started having Botox when I was 33 (I have MS). I had to start catheterising after my 2nd lot of Botox. This was the end of the world to me, 33 and having to use a catheter. Now, I think Botox is a huge benefit to my life and using a catheter is the norm. Obviously, everyone has different experiences but I love it x"
