Aygestin (norethindrone) for Endometriosis: I had 3 surgeries in 3 years for endometriosis. Tried several different birth control pills and lupron. I missed over 80 days school each year for two years and then was home bound for several months a third year due to the chronic pain of endometriosis. After about 6 months on Aygestin and several doses I was back to "normal." Since then I have only had one surgery in 6 years. I have taken the medicine daily for 7 years, without it I don't know where I would be.

Nora-Be (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I've been on this pill for 4 months. On the plus side, I've had no period since I started. However, I feel nauseous every morning and sometimes during afternoons. The worst are the night sweats. I take the pill at 9pm and am awakened every night at 1am, extremely hot and sticky.

Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I was prescribed Jolivette due to my high blood pressure which was being caused by Ocella birth control. For the first 3 months I did not experience any side effects besides the irregular period which was advised in advance. After 3 months, I first noticed the side effects below: extreme weight gain (50 pounds!) and cravings for food that I had not previously ever would eat. Oily scalp and hair loss, this was a first for me and thought that I was just getting older, but then confirmed that it was Jolivette! (I'm 30 by the way). Anger and stress to the extreme. Depressed for no reason (I actually thought I was pregnant and would take home and doctor tests but resulted as negative every time). Chest and stomach pains.

Nora-Be (norethindrone) for Birth Control: Compared to the full pill, this is fantastic. Side effects are minimal and easy to treat. I experienced some decrease in libido and severe vaginal dryness during my first month, but Replens (available in any drug store) took care of that right away. Works like a charm. I also experienced some water weight gain during the first few weeks, but Diurex helped. My body has adjusted since then and do not need the diuretics anymore. Bottom line, I totally prefer these mild side effects than to deal with the worrying that I'm pregnant every month. But you HAVE to take it at the same time every day. I take it every morning at 7 am, I actually set my alarm. I keep a glass of water on my night table next to the pills. I love being worry free.

Nora-Be (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I had been on the combined oral pill for many years and had tried many different kinds. I have experience every kind of mood swing possible, severe cramping and abdominal pain, headaches, nausea, heartburn, moodiness, and had severe irritability, and uncontrollable bursts of tears before and during my period! As well as a decrease in libido. I felt out of control!
I went to the doctor, she told me I was experiencing PMDD, which is much worse than PMS. She put me on Nora-Be since it only has a synthetic progesterone and no synthetic estrogen (which apparently increase all of the craziness).
Only taken for short time, but better already! I have more control of my emotions and my libido is back in overdrive! Breast are tender though.

Nora-Be (norethindrone) for Birth Control: Really great. The combo pill made me sick as a dog and my weight ballooned, but I feel amazing on this pill. I had just started on a diet when I switched and I am still losing the same kind of weight as before the pill.

norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: I was prescribed this to help with periods, during which I had 3 weeks to 2 months of bleeding at a time. Heavy bleeding that is. It works so well with me that my periods have stopped and that's just fine by me.

Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I am 21 years old and my son is now five months old. I started taking Jolivette at the beginning of February. I have experienced abnormal, heavy bleeding that seems like it never ends, feels like I've bled more than I haven't bled. The bleeding will stop for two to three days then return and last for about two weeks. I have also been feeling more angry and stressed than ever since I started taking this birth control. I am switching to a different birth control as soon as possible because Jolivette is making life miserable, and the way I am running through boxes of tampons and pads is ridiculous and draining the wallet.

Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: Have been taking this since having my son 13 months ago. No side effects, easy to use. Love it! Great contraceptive to use while breastfeeding!
Aygestin (norethindrone) for Endometriosis: Having no periods every month is wonderful and all my pain from endometriosis has subsided. I feel wonderful, but did experience quite a bit of weight gain with this medication but in the long run it is worth it.
Errin (norethindrone) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: I took this for 3 months following pregnancy and it was great at leveling my mood, and allowed me to lose weight, but was not very helpful in controlling my periods.
Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I've had an up and down experience with Jolivette. The first week was a bit rough with some dizziness, increase in appetite, and slightly more emotional. However, those initial symptoms disappeared within the first month. What's been driving me crazy is my period. It came a week after I began the pill (I also was incredibly emotional the day my period came). Then I had two weeks off before it came again. And again. And again. Three months on Jolivette and my periods are becoming longer (7+ days from 4 days) and with only 4 or 5 days in between. And recently my hair has started growing in straight after being solidly curly. I recently went off it and still got my period right on schedule as if I was still on it!
Ortho Micronor (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I experienced a heavy period and breast tenderness at first after I switched from Ortho Novum 7/7/7. After the first pack, the tenderness was gone, my period went back to normal, and my sex drive increased. I like it alot.
Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: This was my first birth control pill ever and the only thing I noticed was that the day I was supposed to start my period I was very mean and irritable.
norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: I have just started my third month on Norethindrone. It's a treatment for abnormal bleeding. I used to have endometriosis problems some years ago. It has worked well in that my periods are much lighter and predictable. Before I was doing about 2 weeks bleeding and 1 week free and back to 2 weeks of bleeding. Now it's 4-5 days light bleeding per month. I have noticed more headaches though. Nothing I would trade for the effectiveness. I see my doctor next month. I believe the expectation was to have no periods, but this is 100% better than before.
norethindrone for Birth Control: I had high hopes for this pill, after coming off the Depo shot, which I really liked. I have chronic migraines so many other birth control options are out of the question for me. On Nora-BE/Camila I experienced heartburn, breast tenderness and increased migraines. Also I had a complete menstrual cycle as well as spotting. Finally, I had a recurrent yeast infection, which may or may not have been related, but it certainly didn't help.
Camila (norethindrone) for Endometriosis: I started this after my second lap surgery for my endometriosis. Had no problems the first month, but have now been bleeding nonstop for 6 weeks. I really liked the fact that I didn't suffer from the side effects that I feel with a typical combination pill (weight gain, nausea, etc), but I cannot take the bleeding and pain anymore. I have had to take 2-3 pills a day to control the bleeding and am still experiencing spotting and cramps. I'm sure that this is the right method for controlling endometriosis for some women, but it is definitely not right for me.
Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: It's been three months and I love it. My hair has grown so silky and long. I haven't seen my period for the three months that I have been on jolivette and I like that. I can say I'm going to continue using it.
Ortho Micronor (norethindrone) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: After multiple surgeries, office procedures and test done on me the results are low progesterone. My doctor put me on this pill. For the last two months and now into my third pack of pills I no longer have heavy long periods. I do recall missing a dose and/or taking my pill late caused me to have a period and/or spotting and/or long heavy periods.
Now, I make sure I take them every day at the same time clockwise %u2026 so far it works and I have not had a period or spotting in about 35 days. I am not pregnant; occasionally, I get a light headache or feel a little dizzy and realize that I need to eat something; after I eat, the light headache and little dizziness goes away. I've lost weight vs. gain weight from the pill.
Ortho Micronor (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have gained about 5 lbs. I am breastfeeding and haven't had a period for 9 months. I also have experienced a heavier appetite and fast body hair growth.
norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: I have been on this drug for 2 years for abnormal bleeding. I had the oblation procedure in June of 08 and started bleeding again. My doctor prescribed Norethindrone again but it has not worked. I give it a 3 because when I started taking the medication two years ago, it worked.
Jolivette (norethindrone) for Birth Control: Never had any problems. Have been on it two times (1st for two years while breastfeeding eldest and this time with number 2).
norethindrone for Endometriosis: I had a similar experience to the person who posted before. After 2 surgeries in 5 years and going through almost all the drugs, we finally found something that works! Along with Micronor daily, Norethindrone for the past 8 months has done great with all my Endometriosis symptoms and I had them all. No break through bleeding, no pelvic pain, no pain during sex.
Ortho Micronor (norethindrone) for Birth Control: I've been on this for 2 months and I have experienced cramping, acne breakout, low sex drive and breast tenderness. Been switch to Alesse. We'll see what happens.
