Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Overall I found this medication relieved 80% of my migraines with just one dose, however it was expensive, it made me very drowsy and gave me nasal/sinus congestion. Still, worth every penny and side effect when suffering from a migraine. Thank God, I no longer need to take it, because my migraines have been cured completely by taking the natural antioxidant “CoEnzyme Q10” 60 mg twice a day and “Magnesium Citrate” 150mg twice a day. I take them at the same time, once at breakfast and once at supper time. It has given me my life back and I no longer have to ride the migraine roller coaster! I felt a duty to share my experience in finding a long term/healthful option that is preventing migraines and also preventing the chronic nagging tension headache that was just part of my normal everyday life. I hope others will benefit as I have and I trust you will be well!"

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I have had migraines since I was a child. Not often thankfully but I suffered miserably. My migraines really picked up at about 43 and finally went to see a doctor at 45. Honestly, nartriptan has saved my life. It works! I have to take it early onset or I'll just throw it up. Also, I try to lie down for at least an hour or two as it makes me sleepy and works best if I nap. When I awake, the pain is completely gone. I've never had to take two pills in one day. I've been on it for about 13 years."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I have had migraines for 16 years. Initially, I was placed on Imitrex as an abortive medication. I have used injectable, nasal and oral Imitrex. I experienced migraines up to 20 days out of a month. After a period of time I began to have shortness of breath and chest pain with Imitrex in any form. It was very painful and quite scarey. I was then prescribed Amerge and it honestly saved my life. The migraines would subside within an hour and not return for several days....I have only had to take a second dose once or twice. I have absolutely no side affects from the Amerge, although my physician thought that I would since it is still a triptan. I highly recommend Amerge!!"

For Migraine "I've suffered from migraines for 60 years, and Naratriptan is a miracle for me! Migraine medication has been available for only about 20 years, and the relief is a life-changer. I would like to note that the packaging of the pills, which apparently is designed to make getting the pills out of the pack as difficult as possible, doesn't quite work. It only takes me ten minutes to pry open the packet, using a very sharp knife and small scissors. Maybe something more difficult could be imagined, as there's nothing I like better than wrestling with a foil packet with a headache looming."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "About 5 years ago my doctor prescribed Amerge and I have used it ever since. I have been a migraine sufferer for the past 15 years and this is the medication that works the best for me. 2 years ago my health insurance decided to no longer cover the medication and I had to try to find another. It was awful. I did not realize how much more effective Amerge was than the other medicines. I highly recommend this product."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Naratriptan has always worked for me. I tried other Triptans with no luck. Relpax made me very sick, imitrex did nothing. Amerge naratriptan takes the bad headache and throbbing eye sockets to minor level in 30 minutes. Slight muscle aches. Slightly tired but functional. Good med. Very glad I can get it for simple copayment."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "5 yrs ago, I got Amerge after trying almost every other medication available. My migraines tend to come back within 4-6 hours with Imitrex, but the Amerge would keep it gone. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time getting my insurance to cover it. Another good thing about the Amerge is that it didn't seem to have the photophobia effect after I took it. Also wouldn't knock me out or make me feel groggy. It was like taking a vitamin and then my life could just go on as planned! I really hope that insurance companies get better at covering effective medications for their patients. I also wish I could just afford the $200 or whatever for 9 pills. "

For Migraine "I had taken every other kind of medication imaginable to try to control my chronic Common Migraines. Nothing worked. So, I wasn’t very optimistic when my physician offered to write a prescription for Naratriptan (Amerge). But, I figured, “Couldn’t hurt.” and filled it. The next time I had a migraine come on, I took one of those little tiny pills. Within 20 minutes time it was as if I’d never had a headache at all. No trace left. It was absolutely incredible. It changed my life. Zero detectable side effects. Not everybody who has migraines will respond the same to this drug , but if you’re having common migraines, it can’t hurt to try it."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "My favorite migraine medication is Relpax, which isn't covered by my insurance. Imitrex didn't work for me hardly at all. So, when Amerge came out and my insurance covered it for a reasonable co-pay, I tried it. I will give naratriptan credit for working well. It does knock out my migraines, which is more than I can say for Imitrex. However, it takes a solid hour or more to work, and during that time, my migraines often have a chance to brutally worsen. Relpax is still my favorite by far when I can get my hands on it."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I had MVA over 20 years ago leaving me w chronic migraines complete w nausea/ vomit, but I get the diarrhea issue frequently as well. They often begin w frequent urination. Amerge helps usually in first 10 minutes (only occasionally need the second dose In a day) I still usually need to relax in dark calm area but symptoms are more manageable. One problem is the dr usually only order 9/month which is not enough for a CHRONIC migrainer"

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Consistently effective to prevent daytime onset of cluster headache if taken between 5-6AM if prodromal. Works for approximately 22 hours at 2.5 mg single dose. Cost of 1 pill is now prohibitive at more than $50. Generic naratriptan 2.5 mg as Naratrex can be purchased overseas for 53 cents!"

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "After years of trying numerous medications (none ever working the way Midrin did) and wanting something I could function on, but would get rid of/or at least lessen my pain I tried Amerge for the first time last night. I took it around 6:00pm with food, and within 20 minutes I was crashed out on the sofa. I woke up almost 2 hours later with stomach cramps, a very fast heartbeat, an extreme confusion. My husband was talking to me, but I could neither understand him nor could I put words together. I tried to stand up to say goodnight to my daughter, and I walked directly into our coffee table and almost fell over. It took a good hour before I felt like myself. However, my headache was gone! I don't know if the side effects are worth it."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Amerge is the only thing I have found that works for my migraines. I have had migraines daily for over 3 years and eventually everything has quit working for me except the Amerge so I would recommend it to anyone. This drug has truly saved my life."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Its a really great medicine for migraines i been having them for over a year daily have tried several different medicines sum worked but the side effects was horrible tried naratriptan the first day migraine free for 2 days and every other time migraine free for a day. great medicine ill most definitely say its worth a try for bad migraines."

For Migraine "Naratriptan has been very effective for me. I suffered with chronic migraines for many years and have tried everything out there. This medication doesn't help a lot with my very worst of migraines, but for a medium-level migraine, it works. I do normally have to take 2 doses, though. My only negative is the RIDICULOUS PACKAGING!! It's bad enough that I have a migraine and have to take medication to make it stop. But trying to tear along those "supposed" perforated foil lines is close to impossible. It didn't use to be this hard to open those blister packs. I have to cut them with scissors and if I'm not at home, I most likely don't have scissors with me! Clearly the manufacturer is trying to save money by going with a cheaper solution. PLEASE! For the sake of all those like me that need to get this medication in us ASAP - STOP using cheap blister packs and use some perforations that actually tear easily."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "So far, wonderful for migraines! I take Topamax daily and Amerge as a rescue med for breakthrough migraines (the majority brought on by weather changes), and it's been amazingly effective. Recommend if you are able to try it."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "Wonderful long acting triptan. I have tried just about everything for my migraines and this is the only medication that keeps them gone. I have also noticed less issues with nausea with this medication over some of the others in it's class. I have yet to need the second dose and it seems to relieve my major symptoms within an hour with the headache entirely gone within two hours. Expensive as it is I believe it is definitely worth the money."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I have suffered with migraines for over 10 years, was presribed Imatrex, which gave some relief, before being given Amerge. Usually the migraine would return within 4 hours. My headaches usually last between 4-5 days. With Amerge, if taken at the first sign of the headache, I can have relief for 24 hours at a time. Much better control. Side effects are very minimal, some nausea, but hard to tell from the migraine itself. Try it, it's is definitely worth it. Also, see if there are food triggers."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "This product works very well for me. I suffer bad headaches brought on by TMJ syndrome. Most times, I am completely pain free within 2 hours after taking a single dose. I have never had to take a second dose."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I have found Amerge (Naratriptan) to be very effective at relieving my migraines. I recently found the generic version available at an online pharmacy for $16.00 for the 9 pill dose pack, so I would encourage others to shop around for better pricing."

Amerge (naratriptan) for Migraine "I use to take Imitrex but it came to the point I wasn't taking it because when I did I had to double dose & add in pain killers to knock the migraines to a tolerable level. This pill is way better then Imitrex & it truly works. Other then it taking a little bit longer to kick in than Imitrex, it works better. I usually am able to tell when I'm getting a migraine and take naratriptan at that time & it will kick it before the migraine does fully."

For Migraine "I have suffered with migraines for 15 years and was at the end of my tether. Every attack made me bedridden for 2 days and then another day to fully recover. Thankfully I have a great doctor who prescribed Naratriptan after every other drug had failed. I take it as soon as I feel a migraine starting and within an hour it has totally gone. I have found that if I wake up with a migraine even this drug doesn't help but when I do get it in time it completely knocks it out. I am very lucky because I live in the UK and I get this drug on the NHS for a nominal prescription fee ("

For Migraine "I first discovered Naratriptan as an OTC drug when living in Germany. I've had migraine for 36 years (mine started when I was nine years old) and have tried so many different drugs I can barely remember half of them. Paramax, Midrid (Midrin in the US), Topiramate (avoid, avoid, avoid!), Depakote (made me suicidal, also huge weight gain), Imigran (Imitrex in the US) (worse than useless, removed the pain but made all the other symptoms such as nausea, vertigo, photophobia much, much worse), I already take medication for high blood pressure and an anti-depressant so angiotensin drugs are out as are tricyclics (and amitriptyline never prevented them years ago when I took it for insomnia, anyway)..."

For Migraine "It works! Felt like a cooling sensation in my head/face. Made me drowsy so I jumped into bed and slept for a couple of hours. Woke up with some small migraine pain but overall reduced pain from a 10 to a 1. Didn't have the chest tightening side effect that I had with Sumitriptan."

For Migraine "I suffer from trigeminal neuralgia with my migraines & this medication is the first to actually work. In an hour or less all my pain is gone. I can take it and go to work because it doesn't make me groggy. The only downside is the doctor prescribes 9 a month. I have more than that per month. I was hesitant this would work because nothing has before. Thankful for Naratriptan!"
