Provigil (modafinil): My fatigue from Multiple Sclerosis had gotten to the point that I could not function at work for a full day. I was only able to work for about 3 hours and I was having to stop because I was just so exhausted. I came home and went to bed. I couldn't clean my house or take care of my grand children. I have 2 grandchildren (ages 5 and 1) at the time I was diagnosed and it was really painful to me not to be able to play with them and care for them. My doctor prescribed Provigil at 100 mg once daily and it helped a little. He then changed it to 200 mg twice daily and it was like I was a new person. I can now work a full day and I keep my grandchildren on Friday nights and I can come home after work and do whatever I need to. Provigil has actually given me my life back.

Provigil (modafinil): Provigil helps my Multiple Sclerosis fatigue, but my drug insurance company won't okay it because it's an "off-label" use. My psychiatrist was actually the first doctor to prescribe it, which is also off-label use. It doesn't give me great energy, but at least I don't sleep all day. With depression AND MS I have a double whammy. I definitely know the difference when I don't have it.

modafinil: I had my hopes up waiting to pick this medicine up and begin taking it. It worked really great for a week, then stopped working not sure why. My Neurologist took me up to 200mg in the morning but still nothing.

Provigil (modafinil): I take Provigil about 5 times a week. I have been on it since 12/06. I have to take "vacations" from it in order for it to work like it should. When I start it again, I get massive headaches but is worth it for the energy. My MS fatigue is so bad most of the time that I really need this medication. I do get headaches, nervousness, anxiety, and stomach issues while taking this pill. But all I do without taking it, is sleep.

Provigil (modafinil): I tried Provigil 2 years ago but I got the jitters. The fatigue has become so bad in the last 6 months that I decided to try it again. This time I had success. At first I only took it when I needed it, but finally I gave up having so many nonfunctional days that I started taking it everyday - I take just 100mg. My days are much more fulfilling. I have to actually remind myself NOT to overdo or I'll still get wiped out. It's so good to feel like I can do things again.

Provigil (modafinil): I too have MS and have been taking this drug since it came out - about 6 years. Because Provigil is not an amphetamine it doesn't make you "high", you just feel like you have energy. Provigil does not interfere with your normal sleeping pattern, if you take it in the morning. I feel like my old self when I take it. I also know now when I do not take it (I'm on 200mg). I can feel the difference, what I thought was depression was actually a lack of energy.

Provigil (modafinil): I was prescribed this medication to deal with the overwhelming fatigue that sometimes hits with Multiple Sclerosis. I am working full time, and cannot afford to be overly sleepy. I am very impressed with how it works. It stimulates me mentally, without creating the "hyper" physicality of a general stimulant like caffiene. I am able to take the medication on a when required basis - not more than 200 mg in a day - and it works great. Many days I do not take it at all. It has a long half-life, however.
