Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I had to stop taking Savella when titrating to 100 mg daily because my normally low normal blood pressure skyrocketed. Just prior to that it caused blurred vision and migraines. I reported the side effects to the FDA. I have a long history of fibromyalgia, 16 spinal disc bulges and herniations, polyarthralgias, arthritis and severe myofascial syndrome. Now, several months later I am willing to try another trial because the Savella is the only thing that helped me. I bought a blood pressure cuff and will monitor my pressure daily and will not go beyond 50 - 75 mg/day if I get relief. Hopeful.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: This one caused me to have constant chest pain and barely controllable rage. I've heard it works for some and I am happy for anyone to be able to find relief in whatever way they can. Savella just was definitely not for me.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I had to write about this awesome medicine. I have been sick for about a year. I couldn't do anything. I had been from doctor to doctor, no one knew what was wrong with me. I went to an awesome rheumatologist, she did a ton of tests and X-rays and waved her magic wand and said I had fribromyalgia. I was so relieved to be diagnosed. She gave me the Savella. Now she is titrating me very slowly. Giving me 2 titrating packs so taking twice as long, 4 weeks. It does have lots of side effects, I agree, but I can walk freely. I can run my own errands. For several hours in a row I actually feel like my old self again. That is worth every side effect. I am losing weight. No complaints here. I love it.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I tried Savella for about 2 days. I had severe nausea, rapid heartbeat, and horrible hot flashes. It also ran my blood pressure up. Started with a 12.5, then the next day broke the 12.5 in half and still had the same side effects. I have tried everything from Neurontin to antidepressants and I have bad side effects from them all. So as of now all I'm taking is tramadol as needed. I give up on all the other medicines.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: After years of going to specialists and trying all the medicines listed here, I found help with, of all people my primary care physician, who offered this medication because I stood in front of her crying my eyes out. Savella has brought sanity back in my life with my pinched nerve and spine damage. My pain went from a constant 10 to a 2. I got through the side effects after a week and am so glad I stuck it out. This medication literally saved my life because I was so depressed and out of my mind due to the pain.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: Severe side effects rendered me unable to take ANY of the usually prescribed drugs for fibomyalgia. My Doctor suggested I tried Savella as a last ditch effort to find some relief. She was very up front about easing myself through the titration, suggesting I cut pills in half and take my time getting my dosage up. After reading user postings from several sights I was dreading starting it. Guess what? After the second day of half doses I went to full doses and am now finished with the titration pack. While not a 'miracle' this medication has given me significant improvement with pain and lack of energy. A little dizziness and mild hot flash 30 mins after dosing. My point is that not everyone has such difficulty with it. Don't be afraid to try it.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I got a titration packet and it relieved my pain within a few hours of taking it. I was so very happy and excited. I slept well. However, on day 3, I started having horrible stomach cramps with it and had to stop it. Now I am trying Lyrica. We'll see how that goes.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I have just started Savella. Been on it for only two months, but it is helping. My energy level has increased and my "bad days" are not nearly as bad as they used to be. I sweat like crazy, but I will take that over being so exhausted and in pain. I feel more refreshed when I wake up, like I actually slept. I was on Cymbalta before and took the life right out of me. This is a huge improvement for me and I think things are finally looking up.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I have been on Savella for about almost two weeks now. For the last six years I stumped doctors not knowing what the problem was. New doctor quickly diagnosed it as Fibromyalga. The medicine gives me intense hot flashes but overall the pain has lessened and that's a big relief for me. My doctor has not yet moved me up to 100mg a day yet. She has me on 50mg still after 9th day, I say give it a try. Anything that helps is a A plus in my book.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I just finished my first week of the starter pack, and I had absolutely no side affects. I take even my vitamins with food, and I think that's the key. I am 51, and have worked out nearly every day since I was 24. The last 4 months I could not even walk around my yard and gained ten pounds. I finally went to the doctor and after a few weeks, I was told it was Fibromyalgia. I never heard of it before in my life. I thought I had bad arthritis. Since starting the Savella, I have been able to do about 15 minutes of a workout before my ankles and back pain start up, but I do notice an improvement. I am very optimistic that this medicine is going to work for me. Reading all these posts has been very helpful to me as well.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: Before Savella: Could hardly walk, ached all over, exhausted all the time, sore hands etc, muscle spasms/contractions, jaw/ear pain. After: muscled contractions/spasms across my abdomen the first two days, really bad; however, no fibromyalgia pain at all. I am on the full dose now. I take a Lexapro in the morning for depression, I take my Savella about an hour later. At bedtime, I take the other Savella. I love it. I would say I feel 85% better most of the time, and have felt 100% better a few days in a row.

Savella (milnacipran): I have been taking Savella for about a week now. I have gone this whole week without a headache. WOW. At first, I was waking up in the middle of the night very thirsty, but that has gone away now. I have much more energy than before. One thing that is really bothering me right now is I am extremely bloated.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I have been taking Savella for about 4 weeks now up to 50mg twice a day. I have seen a huge amount of relief for the pain. The problem I'm having is no SLEEP! I can not function with no sleep. I have tried changing the times I take my evening dose and still no sleep. Thinking of going back to one a day. Have to take with food or get very nauseous. Just this week started waking up after 2 hours of sleep soaking wet. The pain relief is so good for me ...just hoping to start getting some desperately needed sleep.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: My husband just started Savella about 3 weeks ago. He has had Fibromyalgia for 30 years and has been to countless doctors, tried vitamins, exercise, change in diet, etc. with only nominal relief. He is AMAZED at the difference he feels on this medicine. He doesn't wake up with the aches or feels the chronic fatigue. He has new energy. Unfortunately, our insurance won't approve it - due to not "failing" enough other treatments/medicines.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I agree, this is one of the best treatments I have had for my fibromyalgia. The trick is to get through the 1st couple of weeks. I was told that 2 weeks is when your body is adjusting to the norepinephrine and nausea can be a temporary problem. Mine went away after the 2nd week. It took a couple of weeks to start feeling the pain relief but once it started working, it kept working better and better. Now, 4 months later, I can say this is the most energy I have ever had, pain is better and have even lost a few pounds. I also take Lyrica and a low dose of Zoloft for my depression. I finally feel like I have control of my life. I still have days that are not as good as others but overall I feel like my fibromyalgia is manageable.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I tried Savella with the starter pack. I experienced terrible nausea, insomnia, hot flashes, racing heart and fever. My doctor reduced the dosage back to 12.5 mg but with very little improvement of side effects. She finally told me to stop taking it. I have had great results with my other medications and I wasn't having any issues but my doctor wanted me to try this new "great" medication. I haven't felt this bad in years. If I were having problems I could understand her trying the Savella with me but for ME this medicaiton made me feel worse than I have in a very long time. I am relieved to be off of it. In the future if my other medications become less effective I might give it another shot.. but for now "No Thanks".

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I am starting my second week of Savella and think that all the reviews I read with horrible side effects listed must have been from people coming off of something else. I am hyper sensitive to medicines and alcohol and usually can only tolerate very low doses. I started Savella and was really afraid of the side effects. Here is what I have noticed; first day nothing, second day nothing, third day a bit of a runny nose and a little insomnia, fourth day a little constipated and a lot of insomnia. I am now on my 7th day and the only thing is still a little constipated, no nausea or headaches or anything. And my world seems brighter. Don't know if that is what is meant by the fog lifting, but everything seems so bright and clear.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I've been taking Savella for a month. I have done fairly well on it. I have noticed some relief. I am experiencing dizziness but I am also taking generic Zanaflex so I am not sure of the cause. I would caution people to be careful taking this medicine with other antidepressants that affects your serotonin levels. You might want to take them separately, it might make you sick.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: Savella gives an energy boost. My Pain Doctor has me on Cymbalta and Savella. I did question the Doctor about Serotonin Syndrome but She wasn't concerned. Several years ago, I stopped taking Cymbalta and the Brain Zaps lasted nine months. Then my depression returned and ended back on the Cymbalta. I don't think they mix well for me as I am extremely agitated and hostile and still depressed. I will be talking to my doctor about how to wean off Cymbalta and perhaps finding a different antidepressant. Savella has helped with my pain but I do have a rapid heart beat and panic attacks. Plus, I suffer restless leg Syndrome and it is so painful. Can win for losing.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I liked the pain relief, but I am allergic. I developed a very itchy rash that got worse the longer I took the medication. My mood was really neutral. I was not very happy at all.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: Savella has helped with my muscle pain, frequency of migraine headaches, brain fog and energy. I haven't really had any major side effects. This medicine has helped me more than anything I've been prescribed so far....and that is a pretty long list!

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: After taking Savella I was basically in bed for 3 weeks feeling so cold I had to stay under 3 blankets. My hands and feet were like ice. I would get a tingling sensation through the inside of my body and felt so cold I would shiver. When I did get out of bed and, for example, go to the store, I would break out in sweats that made my hair look like I just got out of the shower and all my makeup came off. I had at least one night a week of insomnia where I couldn't get to sleep until dawn. I had very disturbing, vivid nightmares. I had no positive effects from this medicine. I've had fibromyalgia for 16 years and decided to go back on Lyrica as I had no side effects from it.

Savella (milnacipran) for Fibromyalgia: I am a 35 Year young Man. I've been diagnosed, with Fibromyalgia twice over a period of 14 years. The first was by my Primary caregiver. He was positive that was what I was dealing with so he doped me to say the least, wake up to Narcotics, keep up through the day with stimulants and lay down with anti-depressants and sleeping pills. I quit seeing him. I continued with the pain for years, and then went to a neurologist, and he reaffirmed the diagnosis. I have been going through the medicines the same as you all have, Lyrica, Cymbalta, cyclobenzaprine, all the above, until Savella just three days ago. I am realizing relief for the first time in a very very long time, no side effects and I pray it keeps getting better and better. Keep going.
