Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I work as a Nurse Practitioner and always thought these patches were a gimmick and never tried them until today. By back was tweaked the wrong way and I felt immediate pain when walking in my lumbar region and had sciatica down my left leg. It’s was horrible. One of the PAs I worked with keeps these with her and gave me one to try. Within about 10-15 minutes I could feel it tingling and in another 5-10 felt relief of my symptoms. I have always treated this type of pain with Tylenol and anti inflammatories taken orally. I was honestly shocked at the response my body had to these. I went right out and picked up a box after work. Looked up info on it and saw this site and decided to leave a review. It is worth a shot if you have pain. It worked for me."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I’ve been using these Salonpas Pain Patch patches for a few years now. I use them for muscle pain, back ache and strains. They really do work if applied correctly to the affected area. Just make sure to apply to any pain area but the key is to apply away from bone. Try to get as much of the muscle, back or any other pain area as possible. Didn’t do much for me near elbow or wrist where there is little muscle but worked wonders on shoulders, upper back, lower back and sciatica region. I usually apply in evening and just sleep with them on for best results. Good luck !!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "After reading these reviews I was quite surprised as the patches do stick to the body and do not slip off or come off on your clothes at all..although one half does tend to flip over onto the other half when taking the plastic off you can easily peel it back you just need to be gentle with it. Also stick one half to the skin before taking the other half of the plastic off and it will lay flat. I hardly write reviews but felt like some of the comments which have been left are unfair and would possibly put people off because they also do help with the pain!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "There is no doubt that Salonpas patches help relieve pain. I had a Twisted ankle and they work fast and for several hours HOWEVER they do NOT STICK to the skin. Years ago their patches stuck through sweat, showers and daily activity...for weeks if you forgot you had applied one! NOW, they stick until you move. You can't even put a sock over one without it rolling up and falling off. I have the patches attached with bandaids.. Seems wrong"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I had a pulled muscle in my upper arm that hurt so bad I could not sleep for 3 days. My wife brought me these Salonpas patches and I tried them. My experience with them is that they work wonders for muscle pain. I had the first patch on all day. Night time rolled around and I replaced the old patch with a new one. Slept like a baby with no pain. The patches stuck on my arm pretty well, and came off easily. They worked for me."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "I made sure my spine was free of clothing and peeled film away and was able to put my patch on myself without a hitch. No problem. I'm now sitting upright on my bed with pillows behind my neck and head. Its tingling a little, but with the pain I had today I could barely cook breakfast and feed the cats. I'm feeling relief now, and I bought these at Dollar store for a pack of 5 for a dollar! Best buck I ever spent. I need to get a shower and now I think I can without pain. I recommend it. Been taking motrin and gabapentin for way too long. I think I found my way out!!!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "Saw this Salonpas Pain patch on an ad TV looked good, then tried them, utter garbage, must be people from the company giving these good reviews, they don’t stick, roll up in a ball, do absolutely nothing for pain. People save your money, they are cheap for a reason. Junk."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I tried everything under the sun for muscle pain in lower back. How in the world could I be so blind to the facts of this patch. It is the same thing as icy hot, rubs, biofreeze, tiger balm, and any other thing tried. How many brain cells does it take to know that this works for about five minutes then stops. What is so special about this product to pay so much? Can anyone tell me why it’s even available? Is this some alternative to pain meds, including aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, 800mg ibuprofen, or whatever? Considering it has methyl salicylate in it, are we made to believe that this is spectacular. I’ve purchased one box. Didn’t stick, smelled like a musty mouse, and got no relief. What a waste of $$$."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I applied the Salonpas Pain Patch to clean and dry skin, and it seems to work if it stayed on. As much as it costs you would think it would stick . It would so much better if they used medical tape then it would stick propertly. Then I would use it much more . Until then I will not buy it again ."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "Have used the old version of the patches for years and am rating them a ten. The new "improved" version is flimsy, doesn't stay on, and is more expensive. The large back patch was tried by my husband and also did not stick well. I want the old product back!!!!!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "I used these patches since they came out and they stuck and pain was gone in 15 to 20 min as was the odor. I used them all the time for pain in my spine and neck and they always stuck Then they changed from white plastic to skin colored and now they do not stick to your body - clothes yes, bedding yes so you do not get any relief from pain. I called the company and got nothing "

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "I used solonpas patches in the pass before the company made them new and improved, comparing the old with the new ,there are no comparison the old worked and the new do not. If some thing is not broken don't try and fix it, I do not need a product new and improved I need a product that works. Please bring the old solonpas patches back. Thank You! Sincerely, an old solonpas satisfied customer"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "This was total waste of money. Read the Directions for use and application. Opened the package, peeled the plastic film of of the patch. The patch immediately folded over in half and glued itself together. I tried to peel it back apart and it only made it worse. Ended up throwing the patch away. A total waste of my money. Won't buy another one again. I do not have the luxury of having someone help me putting this patch on me. I have to do this myself. Since this needs to go on my lower back and to the side, it is very difficult for me to reach behind me in this awkward twist (too much pain). I tried putting a second one on by only peeling back a small section at a time. Once again, the patch folded over onto itself and no matter what I did, all it wanted to do was fold over onto itself. I won't be buying any more of these patches EVER!!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "As a senior, I have the usual aches and pains typical for my age. However I’ve been bothered by significant neck and shoulder pain, possibly caused from an old injury or a lifetime of poor posture. I’ve tried several other topical pain relievers containing lidocaine but Salon Pas has been the most effective. I’ve used the large and regular sized patches and find them equally effective. Although it is clearly recommended not to use multiple patches, I usually use more than one at night since the area is large. This helps me to get a better nights rest and I have had absolutely no side effects. Several reviews state the patches do not adhere well. My experience has been quite the opposite. They remain in place throughout the night."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "Have used topical solutions with mixed results. Had purchased Salonpas pain patches some time ago and thought I would try it out for a painful shoulder as the topicals were not working. Amazing result to my surprise. Gained much improved flexibility. Same result 3 times as needed. So far, so good! No issues applying patch and no side effects"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "I've used these for a number of years with some success. BUT...the most recent design is horrible. The peel-off backing sticks only to itself and is almost impossible to apply to my back where I need it most. I've given up, realize that I wasted $$, and will never buy again."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "The adhesive used for these particular patches works a lot better than the other comparable products on the market by far. As long as you get them on straight and unwrinkled the first time, they will stay on for virtually as long as they last, which also happens to exceed comparable products by far. Couple this with the much less expensive price and you have three reasons why this is simply a superior product to the others. It should be noted that the one time I almost bought another name brand product similar to that of SalonPas, the pharmacist, without solicitation or knowing I had a preferance, recommended I go elsewhere to find SalonPas, as they were far superior in his opinion as well."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I've been using salonpas for years, and it was really good, its sticks really well on my skin. But when they changed it, it sucks!!!! You put it and come off in a seconds, plus it wastes a lot of plastics. Before the way the patch was back to back in one plastic sheet, now single patch in every plastic sheet, bad for the environment. What a big disappointment!!!!!!! From now on I will go for the competitor. Don't buy this salompas it's a big waste of money!!!!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "20 years ago I fell and broke my foot. They had to remove my heel and they replaced it with a cadaver bone plates and screws. I have a pretty physically active job and I walk every day for exercise. However, living in Texas when the weather changes dramatically in a few hours, or if I'm on vacation and walk a lot it can really get painful. Taking OTC pain relief pills just doesn't work it's really deep bone pain. It can keep me awake at night and makes it painful during the day. Salonpas is amazing. I place it on my heel with a sock to keep it in place. Within an half hour I'm pain free. This stuff is incredible."

I occasionally get lower back pain and these were recommended by a nurse I know, but NOTHING happens AND they don't stay on! Save your money"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Osteoarthritis "Have had an X-ray and an MRI in the ost two monthS-physical therapy with ultrasound along with traction but nothing managed the chronic pain I was suffering at night. I was unable to roll onto my right side as the hip pain was so terrible. I tried 1,0000 mg of Gabapentin for two weeks and no change. Along with muscle relaxers and meloxocam. Last night I slapped one of these Salonpas Pain Patch on my hip and was surprised when I woke up at 2:30 on my right side! Best night sleep! Makes me Wonder if I should cancel my spine injections?!!!"

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "I pulled a muscle in my underarm. I put a Salonpas patch on the area and then sat at a table reading a book. The patch fell off within 10 minutes. I used two more separate patches and they two fell off within 10 minutes each. I never had the opportunity to see if they actually work since mine would not even stick to clean, dry skin. They are extremely disappointing."

Salonpas Pain Patch (methyl salicylate) for Muscle Pain "These adhere very well onto clean, dry skin. Very good after a shower or bath to increase the relaxing effects while your muscles need to heal. Sometimes they’re too strong for me and I take them off early but other days I leave them on until they stop."
