For Fibromyalgia "I have had Fibromyalgia for about four years now. The pain was so bad I couldn't even roll over in bed without hurting or tie my shoes without excruciating pain. I tried Neurontin, Lyrica and Naproxen, none of which really helped. I was on Cymbalta for awhile and it did help the aches and pains but gave me such bad diarrhea that I couldn't take it. I have been taking Meloxicam now for about a month and cannot believe the difference. I used to couldn't walk a block without having to get someone to get me so I could go home. Now I can walk several blocks without the pain. This is a miracle for me and there are side effects to every medication. The pain being gone is worth it to me."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "For years I suffered pain in my back, hips, right knee, shoulders, and feet. I was told I had osteoarthritis and placed on numerous different medicines to no avail. I switched doctors and learned I had rheumatoid arthritis. He placed me on Mobic for two weeks until I could see a rheumatologist. Within 24 hours I could tell a difference. My pain was minimal and my mobility increased tremendously without excruciating pain. My rheumatologist added methotrexate along with Mobic and I feel like a new woman! This medication literally changed my life and mentality. My 7 year old son can't believe mommy can get out and play with him again. The only side effect that I have noticed is weight gain. I'm hoping to control that eventually."

For Osteoarthritis "The 7.5 mg dose of meloxicam was ineffective, but the 15 mg dose reduces my chronic OA pain by 50%. I only take it 3 or 4 days per week when pain is worst. Only side effect so far has been mild indigestion."

For Osteoarthritis "I was given Meloxicam by my podiatrist when he discovered a foot neuroma. After taking it a week or two I noticed all my Osteoarthritis areas had stopped hurting as well. Hands, knees legs. I felt totally pain free. A few weeks later I skipped taking it accidently a few days and all pain returned. I am now back on it for life and its so inexpensive."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Inflammatory Conditions "I have been having lower back pain for almost two years. I've been to physical therapy twice, currently I'm having osteopathic manipulative treatment, but with only three visits so far, have not gotten much relief. I also have neuropathic pain from shingles in my lower spine. I have had pain in my hands and fingers for a long time. I started getting nodules on my finger joints and can not wear my wedding rings any longer. I finally told my doctor to refer me to a specialist. In the meantime, he prescribed Mobic. In three days of taking this, I can actually close my fist without pain, my back pain has gone down, my knees don't feel like they are on fire. I feel like I can go out and start my walking routine again."

For Osteoarthritis "I suffer from intermittent pain in the left knee, right hip, and upper right leg. To compound my problems, I work in facility maintenance and therefore spend most of the day on my feet. The best way I can describe my experience with Meloxicam is this: At the end of the day, you know your pain is there, but somehow your brain is masked from the pain. You know you want to limp, but you actually feel no reason to. You expect the affected area to be swollen, feverish, and tight, but you still have flexibility and no major discomfort. For me, applying a cold compress for a few minutes works wonders for the rest of the evening. Also, take the medication at the same time daily."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis "Several years ago, I was put on Mobic for right knee problems--bone on bone. When I finally needed a knee replacement, I had to go off Mobic for a week before the surgery. Immediately, I got creaky and all my joints hurt and ached. It hurt to walk even a short distance. At that point, I realized what a blessing Mobic is. I thought that if some of my deceased relatives had Mobic, they might have lived longer. I remember how badly they suffered and I understand. The pain was unbearable. I'm still on it. I am 65."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Inflammatory Conditions "I have been taking Mobic (meloxicam) for about nine months. When I stay on the drug I have little or no back pain. If I stop for even two days the pain comes back. But once I start again the pain is gone in one or two days. It has helped me tremendously. "

Mobic (meloxicam) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Mobic has been a good drug for all the basic inconveniences of arthritis. I was this close to going in for a knee replacement when my Geriatric Specialist offered Mobic. I take Pepcid with it as it is very hard on the stomach, but it has increased my mobility and reduced the pain by 90%. I am very pleased with this drug. Hooray!"

For Osteoarthritis "75 yrs old and l thought that l had to learn to live with the constant ache and debilitating stiffness from osteoarthritis in neck, back, thumbs, knees and ankles. After all, there are many more people worse off. Mobic is a magic pill - only 7.5 mg once or 2xs a day and l have my life back. I can exercise, do household chores, and stand longer than 10 or 15 minutes to cook or do dishes."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis "I have arthritis in feet, right knee, both hands, and right elbow. When both Vioxx and Bextra were taken off the market I had to turn to Vicodin to relieve pain, but was so afraid of addiction I did not take it very often. Then doctor tried me on Meloxicam. It's much easier to function, does a great job on the swelling, and an adequate job on the pain for the most part. No side effects, and still not as good as Vioxx, but it's better than over the counter, and better than an opiate."

For Osteoarthritis "I have Osteoarthritis in my fingers, thumbs and both shoulders from 40 years of factory work. I have been taking Meloxicam for 2 and a half years. Without it I don't think I could continue working. I take one 15 mg pill every morning and it gives me relief all day. I get minor pain in the evening but nothing I can't handle. I tried going off of Meloxicam due to reading about the risks of long term use but my pain came back with a vengeance. I tried Aleve twice a day instead. It didn't work as well for the pain and it was harder on my stomach. My Rheumatologist said I had to weigh the risk factors and side effects of long term use of Meloxicam with my quality of life so I am choosing Meloxicam because it works for me and it's inexpensive."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have been on this for months for my back. It hasn't done a thing to help with inflammation or arthritis. It's completely ineffective for me. My doctor won't give me something else. With all the medications out there you would think they would have something that could be even more effective."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I developed severe pain, numbness and tingling in my left leg and was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease with a bulging disk in the L-2 region. I was prescribed 15 mg of meloxicam and ten mg of oxycodone for the pain. I take it first thing in the morning after eating two pieces of toast. After an hour I am pain free. The numbness and tingling remain but with much less intensity. The pain relief last pretty much all day. I am looking forward to the day when I can feel comfortable and go on with an active life without the meds. "

For Osteoarthritis "Been taking this for awhile! I initially was taking OTC meds for the pain when I was 305lbs. I cut my weight down to 265lbs. Now that I’m taking meloxican, my weight has gone back up to 278lb. Same diet with changes here and there and changes in workout (losing weight steadily) BUT NOWWWWW 13lbs!!! In just a month!!!! I’ll take otc. I doubt it works, for me anyhow, STILL WAS IN PAIN"

For Osteoarthritis "Very effective in masking pain from my osteoarthritis. Felt mild stomach discomfort during initial use (first 3 days) but effective almost immediately (within first 30 minutes!) for pain relief. Stomach discomfort is not recurrent. The most effective medication I've ever used for any pain-specific rx."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Fibromyalgia "Mobic changed my life. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 2 years ago. My good doctor was willing to let me try different medicines I had heard about but nothing was helping. I was ready to file for disability it was so bad. I read about Mobic here at Drugs.com the day of my appointment. We talked about it and I have gotten my life back. I can walk after sitting. I'm even hiking again. I can actually play with my children and let them on my lap instead of having to make them sit beside me. I highly recommend you talk with your doctor about trying Mobic."

For Fibromyalgia "First, thank you for all of your shares. I just went on Meloxicam two days ago for fibro and degenerative disc in 5 discs. I've been in extreme pain for the last few months. Had MRI last week. Showed discs, pinch nerves, and the usual ache that goes with fibro. I took my first 15mg dose and within about 2 hours I felt loose so I did a few stretches, mild, and my back snapped so loud my girl friend heard it across the room. Since then, it has loosened up my body and I feel fantastic. I just took my 3rd dose in 3 days and I can not believe the relief. I am reading a lot about ULCERS and I would like some candid advice. Can anyone share what their experience has been with different ways to take the Meloxicam to maximize result and minimize risk?"

Mobic (meloxicam) for Tendonitis "While this medication alleviated the pain in my husband's arm after taking it for about 5 years he was recently rushed into emergency surgery with a large gastric ulcer. The condition came on without symptoms or warning. His surgeon said Mobic was the cause. If you take this medication do so with Extreme Caution."

For Osteoarthritis "I am a 58 yr old female with chronic right knee and periodic low back/ sciatica worsened with prolonged sitting at a computer, driving etc. A lateral meniscectomy with synovial and patella repair helped until it was time to resume life, i.e. gym, dancing, activity. Cortisone and hyaluronic injections in the knee did nothing for me. Started this med 72 hours ago. Within 24 hours I realized my knee, back, in fact head to toe feels "normal". No aches, pains, side effects. Walked 4 miles yesterday, riding my bike today. Hallelujah, I did not think I would ever feel this good as another ortho doc had told me to just " live with it "."

For Fibromyalgia "I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago. I have taken several different medicines over the years. I was taking Cymbalta and loved it. But it was Killing my liver. So I Had to Stop! I was given Mobic and have really liked the way it has helped my pains! I am concerned about my stomach and liver effects, so I don't take Mobic every day. I take 15mg at a time about 2-3 times a week. This helps me. Hopefully it will help you too."

For Pain "My pain issues are from 7 herniated discs, degenerative back disease, arthritis in my hips, and saying this medication meloxicam gave me my life back is not an exaggeration. I was using an ace bandage to keep bags of ice on my lower back almost all day. Applying bio freeze all day long. Sleep was almost impossible no matter what I did. Within 4 days of starting meloxicam I was able to weed my flowerbeds ( had been hiring a service for 2 years because it was excruciating) I sleep through the night and wake up bit stiff, but not sore."

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis "I've only been on this med for a few days. I had a scope of my rt knee 5 months ago and the arthritis is advancing quickly and severely. In the past month I started having pain in my shoulders, wrists, and left hip. I'm a nurse and can not take opiods/narcotics for relief. I was taking more ibuprofen than I could count! I took my first mobic and not an ibuprofen since. I've been able to sleep, not be tied down by a clock for pain, and have more mobility than I've known in months! I'm grateful. I'm closely watching for side effects & scheduled lab work to check blood levels & liver function in 6 weeks. For the first time in a long time, I'm hopeful."

For Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Cymbalta for fibromalgia and it was ineffective and expensive. A friend told me about Meloxicam and now I'm virtually pain free. I only take it 3 days a week the night before I go on a morning run. It started working within 2 days. Recently I didn't renew my prescription and the medicine's effect took about a month to wear off. "
