I didn't find the experience all that terrible. Much better experience than I had when I had my first colonoscopy. Didn't think the taste was that bad and didn't have any side effects. A vast improvement. For me the worst thing was NO SOLID FOOD - am hungry!
This was not as bad as I thought it would be, although, I still have one more dose to go. The key for me was using super cold ice water to mix it, use two straws at the back of my tongue, holding my nose and only stopping when I needed a breath. I was able to down it pretty fast. It took about 45 minutes for my first movement and it was almost like a normal stool, then nothing else for like 20 minutes, then (hang on it's about to get real) it was like pee. This has lasted for about 4 hours for me. I'm hoping this stops soon so I can sleep a little before I start the 2nd dose at 2:30am. I wonder if it's possible to sleep on the toilet?
Scheduled for Colonoscopy in the am. Taste was horrible! I informed the outpatient nurse that the directions on Suprep stated to do divided doses (that would mean taking a dose the morning of the procedure). She told me absolutely not and to do both bottles tonight. I did them back to back. I did notice severe chills (and still have them) and had no clue what this was from until stumbling upon this site. I went to the bathroom approximately 12 times and I am running clear now after 5.5 hours. I hope I am clean as have been severely constipated for 2 months but did have some dark water and now clear. I gave this product a 5 out of 10 because of the taste but hey, none of the prep taste great!
Everyone on here who says the taste isn't that bad is lying! It's beyond horrible. The worst thing I've ever tasted in my life. Most people said it had a salty sweet taste. Chocolate covered pretzels are salty and sweet this is just revolting! Took me an hour just to get half down. I couldn't finish. There has to be a better way. Next colonoscopy I will fast for a week so there is nothing in my system. Not eating for a week is easier than drinking this. I hope the procedure goes well tomorrow bc I'm not drinking any more of this. If they can't then oh well.
I did the initial dose as directed... could barely tolerate getting it down. Maybe I followed it with water too fast but threw up less than ten minutes after drinking. It worked initially, about another 10 minutes my stomach gurgled and could not make the 5 steps to the bathroom before I had liquidised stool running down my leg (and on my white carpet!) uncontrollable! This went on for hours, and the worst part was the second dose was scheduled for 3am. Felt so sick I spilled it and even though I had been on a liquid fast 4 almost 3 days prior, in the morning I was constipated (probably from other meds I take) and they could not do colonoscopy. I am not looking forward to the next time. But I now plan on Depends and living in bathroom. Yuck

I had been putting off colonoscopy for years due to fear of prep, despite the fact my mother had colon cancer when she was 48!! I am 48 now and couldn't put it off any longer. I have to say Suprep was great! Follow doctor/kit instructions exactly. Works within 30-45 min after dosing. Done using bathroom within 3-3 1/2 hours. Tips: Eat lightly 2 or so days prior, eating mainly soft foods. Hydrate yourself several days prior also, making sure to get lots of extra fluids/electrolytes. Don't drink too much right before dosing so that you can get all the solution/water down comfortably. Do drink as much fluid as you can in between doses to stay hydrated. And RELAX! Positive attitude goes along way! I would definitely use this product again.

1st prep was at 4:00 pm. It was not as bad as the reviews that I have read on the internet. I mixed the solution with ice cold water, put a lemon under my nose, held my nose throughout the entire drink + 5mins, use a STRAW placed all the way to the back of your throat! Put on some good motivational music "blarring" through the house :) and had at it. Within 10 minutes I had already drank the solution and downed the 1st 16oz chaser. In between drinking the prep I would stop and suck on a lemon or a small sip of water. Drink the prep as fast as possible but don't make yourself sick. It took only 15 minutes for the solution to work. Make your bathroom your mini office...(laptop, baby wipes, water chasers with you!, etc..)
I've had several colonoscopies. Previous prep was always basically Miralax/Gatorade plus one or two other laxatives. Suprep is better by far. Less to drink, less bloating. Two dose regimen meant that I got a decent night's sleep because the evening purge slowed to a stop before bedtime. Didn't taste that bad, like salty fruit punch. I'm actually not dreading the next colonoscopy.

The reviews on how horrible this stuff tastes are all true. There is just no denying it. However, if I can get through it, you can too! I made sure to hydrate myself during the day with water and Gatorade, chicken broth and some jell-o for lunch. I wish I could have drank it quickly, but I just couldn't do it. Between how awful it tastes and how full it makes you feel, I just had to take my time and drink it slowly, with some Ginger-Ale in between each sip. And let me tell you, it still works! It started working before I finished the 16oz. Drinking the 32oz. of water after each dose is very important. I had an ice pop in between the doses, just to curb my hunger and get the taste out of my mouth. Also something that I found was a
I am female 5'3 105lbs .My first dosage started at 1:00 pm went down OK, not easy but managed...the second dose was at 11:00pm. This one was very difficult for me. I told myself I had to get this down and I would be finished. I threw up a few times after drinking the required 2 extra glasses. I had the chills and the shakes. Went to bed with an extra blanket, and a hoodie on top of my pajamas.Thank heavens my procedure was the first one of the day because for me, that was the easy part. I have had no after affects just rested after coming home . Was able to go back to work the next day.
The taste of Suprep is every bit as horrible as they say on the Internet. It is effective in causing diarrhea though, which is the intent of colonoscopy prep.
It is horrible, you get the runs, multiple times you will need to go to the washroom because of diarrhea. That is annoying, having to go to the toilet so many times in rapid succession. So dehydration is a danger and people have to keep drinking a lot of liquids. A recommendation I would give to those planning to use Suprep, wear adult diaper or wear nothing at all. This is because while you are drinking Suprep you may suddenly leak something. Suprep causes diarrhea and it can do it quickly.
Obviously everyone's experience will be different but my experience was very good.
I thought the taste wasn't bad at all especially if its cold. I was able to drink the 16oz of mix and water and the following 2 16oz of water you need to drink within the hour. I didn't feel sick at all.
I drank the 6 to 8oz of water every hour the day of having to start Suprep that was recommended to me and continued to drink water every hour throughout the night until I had to stop four hours before the colonoscopy.
I followed the instructions given by the doctors and it worked for me. Everyone's experience is different but mine was good and would recommend this product.
This was my 3rd colonoscopy and the first time using this prep. The two previous times, I had used the Miralax/Gatorade "gallon" prep which was difficult to handle the massive volume of liquid. I found this prep, terrible tasting (but so were the previous preps). This one was less consumption of volume. I didn't get any cramping, no chills like some others, and had no overall bad side effects. As far as the prep is concerned...make sure you use "cold" ice water and not cold tap water when mixing it as well as the followup 2 x 16oz containers of water. The taste is very salty/sweet and I recommend not breathing through your nose when downing the mixture.

Agree with everything written except that the taste was not as bad as some thought. It is salty, then sweet, then tastes like cough syrup. It worked within 10 minutes and I am just dreading my next dose. Can we not come up with something better to drink/take for the cleanse? I don't mind sitting in the bathroom all night or a sore butt. I know this is important to do this test. I know it is only 6 ozs. I just hope I can keep it down.

I got through the prep as most others have written. It's a tolerable prep to get down and a little easier if your stomach is relatively empty. My problem came the next day after my procedure. I was ok initially, but for several hours after the procedure I felt sick all over and very nauseous. In the evening I finally vomited and then began to feel better. Still had the taste of the prep when vomiting. Diarrhea has continued for three days after the procedure.
The taste is Horrible! I made it through the first dose but threw up after second dose! I tried but couldn't hold it down. I sure hope that my colon will be clean enough for the colonoscopy! I didn't get the chills like others did (sure hope I don't have to redo the cleanse)!
Second colonoscopy. First one was 10 years ago. This prep is less volume to drink than 10 years ago but I feel the taste is the same. I could still taste it with my nose held. I did get it down but had to take breaks and chew gum in between. In the end, it is worth the sacrifice!

Hard to get down taste wise. This "colon blow" didn't take long to kick in and it's been non stop for 4 hours now with another 4 hours until 2nd dose. Cramping, bloating, chills, barely keeping my eyes open and oh my poor ass. Seems to negatively interact with every substance on the planet so I wonder how that's going to work out. I have no doubt that my colon will be thoroughly flushed, which is the point of the medication.
The taste was terrible, like drinking salt water-which I guess is what it is. I could barely get the second dose down. After the second dose I had 30 minutes of uncontrolled muscle spasms from shoulders to toes, my blood pressure shot up to 169/97 after the last dose and remained high up to the time of my procedure the next day-159/104.
The taste is sweet and salty, like cough medicine. I highly suggest using juice or Gatorade as a chaser after drinking the prep. I felt nauseous and like throwing up, but drank water after Gatorade. 10 mins Later I felt the effects. Do not leave your house, use babywipes or water to cleanse after every bowel motion, stay near a bathroom, use Depends if you are concerned you can't make it to the bathroom, and eat chicken broth to soothe stomach. Stay away from acidic juices because your bottom will hate you for the next 4-8 hours.

I wish the taste of the sucralose was not so obvious. Couldn't wait to drink it and get to the water chaser. I started in the bathroom 1 1/2 hrs later for 4 hours..no problems sleeping at 11 pm till 6am. Was extremely cold and had chills..tripled my blankets and was still shivering. Taking my 2nd dose now at 6:30am. I had to pay $70 for this prep.

Excellent Prep for Me: 1)Taste was okay+, 2)16 ounces total (when the water is added - moderately cool) is easy to drink, 3)also easy to drink is the additional water requested within the hour, 4)no side effects for me (no cramps, no chills, no nausea). For me, scheduling the procedure in the afternoon works best - you do a prep at 5:00 pm the evening before and by 11 pm you can sleep. Then next day you do the second prep around 9 pm. Very little disruption of schedule.

First time use for 1st colonoscopy screening having recently turned 50. Simple to use. Just mix with water. Tasted way better than anticipated. About an hour and one half after consuming the "colon cocktail" the bathroom was calling. Will spare the details but suffice to say it worked as anticipated. Only had one brief moment of feeling nauseous but after a couple of mins that passed. Overall I would highly recommend - although I have nothing else to compare it to and hope I won't need to revisit this issue for another 5 years until next screening.
