Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: Have always had problems with constipation due to colonic inertia (muscles in the bowels do not contract to move the stool through). Have been 8 weeks without bowel movements. This does not work for my situation. There are a lot of gargly noises, but still nothing.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I tried the 145 mcg sample my Dr. gave me. Took it two days in a row at 8 a.m. and had a bowel motion at 10 a.m. both days. I skipped a day to experiment, and no bowel motion. Tried it again at 8 a.m. and sure enough, a 10 a.m. clean-out. I have no side effects, no diarrhea or pain, just a normal bowel motion, which feels GREAT for a change! Since there's a 2-hour "wait", I'll have to make adjustments if I need to leave the house. But so far it's the most dependable product I've used.
Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation: Day three of 290 Linzess and nothing! X-rays, CT, ultrasound show no reason for the lack of bowel movements... just a LOT of stool... Week three of blowing up like a balloon and only eating Jello and clear broth..and gaining weight!
Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation: Wonderful, very quick acting (like, two hours), so watch out for that. Solves the problem when all else fails. Expensive.
Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I have suffered from Gastroparesis for about 6 years now. This is a disease where your stomach and intestines are paralyzed. It is EXTREMELY painful!! Severe constipation is a MAJOR factor when you have this disease. Recently, I went to the ER with terrible gut pain, and my entire abdomen was distended to the point of looking like I was 8-9 months pregnant! I had not had a bowel motion for 6-8 weeks, but when I told the doctor on-call this, after waiting to see him for 5.5 hours, he laughed and told me "it isn't possible to go that long without having a bowel movement!". I then went to see a different doctor at a different clinic. He gave me samples of Linzess, and I FINALLY WENT! Just wish ALL doctors knew about this medicine!

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Over 30 years of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with constipation. Dozens of ER visits by ambulance. Severe abdominal pain, back pain, vomiting, fainting.
Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: Wow, worked in two hours, after all (and I do mean *all*) else failed. Hugely expensive, though, hoping Forest labs considers some kind of discount program.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: It saved my life. Back in January I was so constipated I literally was vomiting up my back-up for 12 hours straight and ended up in the ER. I have been backed-up since before Thanksgiving. I might have been able to have a bowel movement if I was lucky once every week or two. My stomach hurt so bad. I tried oral laxatives, stool softeners, literally everything. So a week ago my pain specialist for my neuropathy gave me some samples of Linzess. I tried it literally right away and "waa-laa". It worked! I was so happy I cried tears of joy. I suffered from November-March and all I needed was a little white pill called Linzess. I went to 3 other doctors before her and no one else even suggested it.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I'm on the low dose, even though I've been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Even on the lose dose, there were days where I would go 10 times or I would have diarrhea. My doctor didn't want to take me off it though, because this is the only thing that really has worked. I have noticed, that the amount of water I drink while taking it/before my meal, can affect it. My doctor also thought adding a probiotic might help settle it down a bit. I've started taking the probiotic with Lizness and since then, I've had more normal bowel movements. Some days I do have more than one now, but 2-3 is not bad. I highly suggest trying the probiotics (colon health) before discontinuing due to having too many bowel movements or diarrhea.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I have been taking Linzess for one month and for the first time ever, I feel like I can have a normal life. I have suffered with Irritable Bowel Syndrome for 35 years, and it has controlled my life. I have diarrhea for a few hours after taking, but feel great the rest of the day. I am so excited, but just wish my insurance would cover this new medicine that has saved my quality of life!

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I've had chronic constipation (IBS-C) since 2000. I have not been normal since then and if I don't take anything I won't go for months. Nothing ever worked except Zelnorm and then the only other thing was taking 4 ducolax pills before bed. The doctor prescribed Linzess and nothing has happened in 4 days except gas pains. I had high hopes ...I guess I'll be back on Ducolax.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation: After 20 years of constipation, and swallowing all the products on the market (MiraLax, Senakot, Phillips-ect), I think this Linzess product may be the answer. I have been on it for almost a week and today the diarrhea is gone. I notice that after I eat a meal, I get really bloated. I guess I need to give this medicine more time. I do hope this is my answer!

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: Today, I used the 145mg dose of Linzess for the first time. I suffer with constipation due to the daily use of Methadone to control Restless Leg Syndrome. I'm glad I took this first dose on a day when I could stay home. Within 2 hours, I needed to make an urgent trip to the bathroom. It was a quick trip. I thought I might have to go quickly again, but I did not. However, I did feel a little shaky for a while after that. I rested, and then I felt OK. No more urgencies to, uh, take care of. And I feel OK, pretty normal. So, I don't think I'll take this before work tomorrow, and I'll have to figure out how to fit it into my schedule, but it sure worked quickly and completely.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I've been on Linzess for a week. What a difference a week makes. Someone else said Zelnorm was the only thing that worked, for me also until now. I am so excited to actually feel like a NORMAL PERSON. Fingers crossed I am taking the low dose. My doctor gave me the higher dose and told me to try both. So far I haven't needed the higher dose. It took like 4 years or more to come up with another medicine to replace Zelnorm...so far this one is far better for me.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation: Linzess has been wonderful for me. I developed a bad fissure and the over the counter options weren't working unless I didn't need to leave the house. With Linzess, I take it at 530, consume something at 600, and about 730 I'm finding relief. For me, it takes only 2 times, 15 minutes apart to feel empty, and then I'm okay the rest of the day usually. I've been able to tailor these bathroom trips around my schedule, and my fissure is finally healed without surgery. I haven't had any side effects as the watery stools I greatly appreciate. I love this stuff.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I've been on Linzess, the low dose, for about a month now. I had diarrhea the first day every couple of hours but I had no bloating, gas or that horrible stabbing pain. Over the first week hurdle I noticed that the more water I drank at the time I took my medicine the more the likelihood of diarrhea was. So I wake early in the morning, take it, and go back to sleep and this way I've been able to tell when I will go which is usually 30 minutes after I eat. This medicine has been life changing I feel almost normal, have energy again and most of all I don't have that dooming hopelessness. I go about three times a day and like real going. Although some days I experience a little pain at night but nothing compared to restless nights.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: After 13 days, Urgent care hospital, Amitiza, Fleets, my doctor gave me a trial of Linzess (290mcg) to try and it worked within 6-8 hrs after taking it. I feel alot better, well you can imagine! I am definitely going to stay with this and pray it keeps on working. I always had problems with constipation and I need to take heavy duty pain medicine with my medical condition, so I am always blocked up. Hopefully Linzess continues to help. At this time, Thank goodness for Linzess!

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: This medicine has helped significantly more than any other irritable bowel syndrome prescription I've been on and it helps me lead the most normal life possible. I'm grateful that this has become available and at HALF the cost of my other medication.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I'm on day 3 and have had horrible cramps, sweating, nausea and diarrhea after every dose. Within 1 to 3 hrs after taking the pill I feel sick until it all comes out! But if it helps me go more than 1 x every 10-14 days, I'll take these symptoms over that. But agree, stay close to the potty.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I tried this new medicine from my Doctor's sample. 290 once a day. It worked the first time within one hour from swallowing. I usually have a movement once a week, I had fourteen movements that one day, unfortunately they became all water after the first couple. I took the following couple days off to get rehydrated and then tried it again, I think I am on my tenth movement in three hours from taking. The pill did take away my pain and cramps but I had to cancel my plans for the day but it is well worth not having the pain and cramps of constipation.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I have had chronic constipation for twenty years.. I have tried everything. Zelmorm was the only thing I ever found that worked. As we all know they took it off the market in 2007.. I have been suffering ever since. Until now! I have only been on Linzess for two days and have had 3 bowl movements with no bad side effects. I'm excited about this new medicine. I'm hoping and praying it continues to work. Give it a try its definitely worth it. Good luck.

Linzess (linaclotide) for Constipation, Chronic: I'm taking a sample my GI doctor gave me. He gave me one sample. I started with the 145 mcg.
It works very quickly. Don't take it if you have any plans for the next several hours.
This may be just me, but once things get started, they don't like to stop until every drop of moisture has been wrung from my guts. I'm planning on asking for a prescription for Bentyl or Motofen to get my guts to calm down when it's clear it's no longer necessary.
