Prozac (fluoxetine): I started taking Prozac (10mg) a couple of months ago and I feel like a different person - in a good way. Before, I felt like I could not control my angry outburst. I no longer rage. I feel much more positive. I no longer obsessively think about people I am angry with. I feel capable of letting things go! I don't create hostility where there is none anymore. Prozac has been wonderful. I'm really glad I started taking it.

fluoxetine: I am 28 and this is the 5th drug I have taken in the last 6 years. The side effects from everything made the stressed out anxious feeling almost more appealing - from Paxil, Effexor, Zoloft. I am sure there was another one or 2 in there somewhere- I think that I should have been put on a low dose of Prozac a LONG time ago. I have only taken it for a couple weeks or so but I don't feel the side effects of the other medications. There is no longer a veil over me. I feel good but still like myself. I am hoping this is how I continue to feel. My kids and fiance deserve to have a happy me in their lives. I am happy for those who have found what they need to cope, for those who haven't, don't give up!

fluoxetine: I am 25 and have been put on fluoxetine for the 3rd time this year for an anxiety disorder. I like this medication but I have experienced some weird side affects. In the beginning of each new time prescribed I get really nervous, sweaty, panic attacks, and some times feel dizzy. All side effects eventually go away, but it is very tough to get through the first 2-3 weeks. I am on the 3rd week now, but the side effects don't seem to be getting better. I don't want to give up though because it has been so helpful in the past for me.

fluoxetine: I take 40mg once a day, and it helps me cope with going out and having to deal with people. Before I would freak out and couldn't go places or be in crowded areas. It takes the edge off and I don't feel like I'm going to die. I also take Wellbutrin SR 200mg a day, and now I'm just happy and feel like myself.

fluoxetine: I had moderate anxiety. I was prescribed 20 mg first day on it gave me extreme anxiety and made me very unsteady, dizzy, made my palms and feet very sweaty, high pounding heart rate. It lasted throughout the days and made it very hard to sleep until I stopped taking it a week later.

Prozac (fluoxetine): Wonderful drug but watch out for medication interactions. Developed Serotonin Syndrome when doctor prescribed Ultram (Tramadol) for pain relief. Caused involuntary muscle spasms, difficulty speaking, walking, etc. Even looked like I had a stroke. I tapered off it shortly after and tried other drugs to help with anxiety, depression and PMDD. I have since come back to Prozac because it works well for me as long as I make sure not to take tramadol or other drugs that can interact with it. I experience weight loss with this drug. Have tons of energy and sleep well at night.

Prozac (fluoxetine): Initially, my doctor started me out on 20mg, but increased the dosage to 30mg after I complained of occassional bouts of anxiety. I started the medication about six months ago. I'm 23 and not on any additional medication. Now, I feel like I can balance college, family and work. I'm not experiencing anxiety and panic attacks like I was prior to the Prozac. The first three weeks of the medication involved sick feelings, but I'm glad that I stuck with it. I also started to visit with a psychologist once a month. This has been very beneficial. Makes me wonder why I struggled with this for years before getting help.
