For Bipolar Disorder "The first couple of weeks I was flying high on this medicine. The high does eventually come down, but overall I am able to function much better in my everyday life. The weight gain is an issue. If I wasn't a pretty lean person already the weight would be an issue. Thankfully the weight gain has been good for me. The only thing is, I wish, the sweet cravings are unbearable at times. I could eat two pints of ice cream in a sitting--I know scary. For now, the medicine is working. I am not a big on medicine but I would have to say it is doing the job. Good luck to anyone who is skeptical, as I was at one time. But if life can me a little better, why not?"

For Bipolar Disorder "I tried several medicines before finding success with this one. My depression and mood swings are under control, and life is manageable. My friends and family tell me that I'm much more enjoyable to be around now. I feel that this medicine saved my life. The only negative effect it has is that I'm hungrier and have gained some weight. I've just had to make adjustments in my diet to eat healthy, but this is a good thing for my overall health too. I feel so great on this medicine that the negative effect is worth it."

For Bipolar Disorder "Great medicine. I used Symbyax 3/25 before for depression and it helped a lot. I am taking it now for bipolar it has helped a lot really. The bad thing is the excess appetite, weight gains. But I don't care about the weight as long as it helps me out."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been taking this medication for over a year. One excellent side effect is that my insomnia is gone. I almost gave up on trying antidepressants as nothing seemed to work for me. Then I was prescribed Symbyax and my life changed for the better in just a few days! This medication is definitely worth a try if you have depression or bi-polar disorder."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been on Symbyax for about 3 yrs.and it works great. Slept like a log, my emotions were suppressed (not sure if that's good or bad). I was recently changed to generic and I am having problems with mood swings and even worse weight gain."

For Bipolar Disorder "When I was diagnosed with type 1 bipolar disorder, after coming out of my first and only admission for mania and spending months with depression that only came out a few days, they only gave me valproic acid which depresses me, quetiapine worked for a while, but I had to stop take it at high doses for constipation and rhinitis. with aripiprazole for 2 whole days vomiting, with cariprazine for a whole month with akathisia, and olanzapine only depressed me, and I saw that there was Symbyax (olanzapine plus fluoxetine) that in 6 days took me out of the Depression. I managed to change psychiatrists, I told him that I was still sleeping 10 hours a day and mentally dull with Symbyax, so I get prescribed 100mg of lamotrigine and 50mg of quetiapine which does not make me fat at such a low dose, and it allows me to sleep 7-8 hours and get off depression and mania. But I have to admit that Symbyax cured my depression apart from lamotrigine. I am from Spain and sorry if I made some mistake."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been taking Symbyax for 3 weeks. I cannot believe the difference its made in my life. I was always against anti-depressants since all I had tried made me feel worse. I haven't had energy or motivation like this in, I cant remember how long! It is hard to wake up if I take it too late in the evening. I'm afraid of the weight gain but I think it would be worth it. I am only giving it a 9 since it is so expensive and I have no insurance."

For Depression "Have been taking this for two weeks. My children and husband can tell what a difference it has made, though I have been much harder to wake up in the morning. That is the reason I rated it a 9. I do sleep better, focus better, but one issue, I am having trouble remembering what I have done in the evenings after I take my medication."

For Depression "I have been on oxycodone and NSAIDS for 4 years now due to chronic back pain. The past few months it was difficult to lay down and sleep. So my primary doctor decided to try some antidepressants to see if that helped me sleep. Started out with Cymbalta and that had way to many side effects for me, plus it didn't help with the sleep. Then he had me try Symbyax first at 3mg then try the 6mg. The 6mg was too much but low and behold the 3mg not only helped me to sleep but I sure could tell I was in a better mood than before. "

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on Symbyax for about 8 weeks now. The doctor upped my prescription to 6mg/50mg. It does make me eat all the time. I can't stop munching. This medication makes me feel a little better but it didn't last very long. I'm slowly declining again. Zoloft seemed to work but my doctor didn't think that was going to help me in the long run. I am having short term memory loss due to extreme anxiety. The Symbyax seems to make it worse. I still don't know if I like it or not."

For Bipolar Disorder "Have used it off and on for 2 years now. It works wonderfully, and improvement is usually shown immediately. However, it affects my blood sugar immensely and I usually have to quit taking it. If I don't eat constantly I get very sick and shaky because of low blood sugar and because I have to eat constantly I gain weight. The medicine itself works great, it would just be nice to not have to sacrifice feeling well physically for mentally."

For Depression "Was on Luvox 100mg and Dr decided to change my medicine to symbiax, just had a baby and was emotional all the time and feeling lonely and also felt unhappy. He also prescribed me some anxiety medication since I was going through anxiety as well. How long will I see a change with symbiax?"

For Major Depressive Disorder "So far so good on Symbyax after only 4 days. My depression is not as prevalent and I haven’t had anxiety. My medication specialist prescribed the 2 meds separately to save on costs. Instead of $200 I paid $17 for them separately. So far I haven’t been overly hungry but it’s still early. I only gave it an 8 because it’s still early but I’ll revise my review in a month."

For Bipolar Disorder "I was on this for several months and my mentality improved 100%. I have not felt so good in years. I was absolutely amazed by this medicine. I am only giving it a 7 for the simple fact that not only did it cause weight gain, but my ankles and fingers stayed swollen and was painful. I tried taking Lasix to get rid of the swelling, but it just never worked. I really hated to come off this medicine."

For Depression "Have been on it for about two weeks now, so far so good. The only thing it did good for the first week on my panic disorder but unfortunately the panic attacks came back. I am on the lowest dose available so hopefully if the doctor ups it, it will take care of it. As for the depression it has worked good. "

For Bipolar Disorder "I took symbyax for six years until it caused me to start having seizures. Stopping Symbyax was a nightmarish hell. It was the most horrific experience of my life. Zyprexa is a very bad drug. Mixing it with prozac and calling it another name does not take away its destructive effects on peoples lives! Symbyax and anything with zyprexa in it should be removed from the market!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I took Symbyax for 6 years. The last year was awful because I developed a seizure disorder. The ER doctor told me it was the medicine causing my problem. My GP wanted to double my dose! I quit cold turkey because I could absolutely not handle any more seizures. Unfortunately, after quitting I went through hundreds of seizures over the next several months. The seizures gradually subsided the further away I got from my last dose. I believe it was the Zyprexa in the Symbyax that ruined my life! After nine months of being drug free but still completely devastated from my experience, I went to a different doctor and was prescribed Lexapro. The Lexapro helped for about 2.5 years then lost its effectiveness. I weaned myself off Lexapro very slowly over months then quit. Its been three months now and I am finally starting to feel better, yet I am nowhere near well! I will not take another antidepressant without a fight from here on out. I have had enough! Good Luck!"

For Depression "I took symbyax 3/25 for 5 years. I have been opening my pill capsules and splitting the contents so I can slowly withdraw. The price was getting a bit expensive too. I would not recommend taking any meds unless you absolutely have to. After 5 years I will feel this but some discomfort is to be expected."

For Depression "I took Symbyax for Borderline Personality Disorder and it was absolutely miraculous. After trying several meds with no success, I've at last tried this one and it is fantastic! I can even say that I've returned to my normal functioning, I feel now as happy as never before in my life. The only side effect I deal with is weight gain, but it is doesn't go to any comparison with the benefit I gained, so it can be managed easily"

For Major Depressive Disorder "It made my face swell up so bad my eyes looked barely open, they were so puffy. And this was after taking it for over 6 months. Side effect just came out of nowhere. I now take Prozac 40 and Lamictal 150 and feel so much better. And it didn’t really seem to help much with my depression, I was still laying in bed and sleeping most days and nights although maybe slightly less than unmedicated."

For Bipolar Disorder "Was diagnosed bipolar 1, ADHD and GAD at 18 and am now 38 and have taken a large gamut of the medications available on the market. 2 caused Stephens Johnson’s syndrome, some have caused rashes , some cycling. Some severe depression. Some hypomanic. I was on Latuda and gabapentin , and adderall for ADHD for 8 years and thought I was feeling pretty great, however I developed TD and had to stop. After several attempts at some newer meds we settled on supposedly the tried and true symbiax. I have spent the past 3 years feeling amazing. Legit every single person in my life has commented how I’m much more relaxed and easy going. I’m able to do things I don’t recall doing in my adult life like travel or drive at night without severe anxiety. I haven’t cycled in 3 years and while I’ve had some ups and downs like everyone does, it’s manageable and I’m able o function and work through it. HOWEVER. The 46lb weight gain is my breaking point. Weaning off back to the drawing board"

For Bipolar Disorder "I have bipolar disorder. I’ve been on Lexapro and prozac just by itself. Lexapro made me feel nothing, and Prozac was better, but it did nothing to control my hypomania and I had delusions while taking it. I tried out the symbyax combo for about 6 months. I was tired. I was so tired all of the time. I only wanted to sleep and eat. As somebody who suffered from severe insomnia from birth, that was helpful, but I slept 20 hours a day on my days off. It gave me tremors in the morning and my heart raced, but that went away. It got me through my days, sure, but I was 130 lbs at the start of the treatment and was 180 by the time I pulled myself off of it. I’m 5’0 mind you and that was horrible. I will never use this ever again. It wasn’t worth it for me."
