Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: My doctor put me on this medicine for dysmenorrhea. I LOVE this birth control pill. I have NEVER had any bad side effects from it, no acne, no mood swings. I only have light bleeding/no bleeding and cramping when I do have my periods, which only last 2-4 days. But the best part, NO WEIGHT GAIN. I have actually lost 30lbs since I have been on it. I really love this pill and would not go to any other birth control pill.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I am taking Microgestin FE 1/20 for a month now. I took the first pill and then decided to just read up on it. I was scared out of my mind after reading reviews. I tried to calm myself down by saying that people usually only give reviews with a bad experience. Rarely do people seek out these sites to give a positive one. Nevertheless I was scared. I thought I was going to gain weight, be an emotional crazy person, suffer from bad eye sight, etc, etc. I was especially scared because I would take the pill at noon and at 5 pm everyday I would feel nauseous. I changed my time to 5pm, and hey problem solved. I am usually in bed by the time the nausea would start. Other then that, no weight gain, no headaches, no loss of sexual interest, and no breast tenderness. Everyone is different and their bodies react differently. I would say I am very satisfied with this birth control.

No weight gain, no headaches, no acne, no side effects really except I no longer have a period at all. Just to be cautious I take a pregnancy test every month, but so far there hasn't been a need for it. My sex drive is the same and hasn't changed at all. The pills are easy to swallow. I would never switch birth controls!

And I had mood swings that were insane. Once, I got to the point were I couldn't go to sleep at night and went through my boyfriend's phone and accused him of cheating. So just please beware and if others are noticing symptoms, I hope they speak out because I didn't come to terms with it until I reached a scary point.

However, I recently got married and we had used abstinence during our year and a half of dating and I needed a birth control for after we got married and this is what I was given. I am going on my 4th month now and have experienced none of the side effects. I eat healthy and live an active lifestyle and don't ever workout and I haven't gained any weight. I had mood swings before I got on any birth control usually right before my period and that is kind of the regular for me even with this pill. My skin is a lot clearer. My boobs did get bigger for a little while there. My periods are either light or non existent. I take this pill every night at 10 so I don't experience nausea as I'm asleep.

I was taking the pill EXACTLY as prescribed. I even set and alarm on my phone to take it at the same exact time every day.

I never had any problems with Yasmin, although my period was slightly heavier than desirable. I have been on Microgestin now for four months and literally go through 2 full period cycles in a row each month. It is awful and inconvenient. My doctor actually put me on the pill because of the reports of shorter periods. I know that all bodies react differently, but be cautious of this problem, if you do not want to chance it. I have also experienced severe mood swings, but I cannot discredit it regarding actual birth control. Just remember to take it at the same time, daily.

I had lost 15lbs of my baby weight before starting this pill. After taking Microgestin FE 1/20 I gained back 10lbs in the first month. I eat right and exercise 3 times a week and also take my son on walks everyday. I should be losing weight and so far after gaining back the 10lbs the scale will not budge. It made my breasts larger and actually gave me pregnancy symptoms which I was not a fan of. I have completely lost my sex drive and motivation for anything. My husband has noticed a change in my moods and asked if I'd consider changing birth control because he wants the old me back. I'm completely frustrated with the weight gain.

Doctor changed from Microgestion FE 1.5/30 to 1/20 because of weight loss experienced due to diet change (can't eat well in the GA summer heat >.>) Anyway. I began spotting on day 2 and by day 5, I was having a period, I decided to wait another week before calling my doctor, and the bleeding was consistent with a "normal" period. I believe it was too light for me. I was also a bit emotional. Crying jags over the silliest of things. Did not improve acne. Hope this helps.

Perhaps I am allergic to this pill. It upsets my stomach. The last few months it has been like I have diarrhea. After every meal I have an urgent need to use the restroom. My period has been unpredictable, heavy at first, then it lightened. One month I didn't get one. Now it's average in length but my back aches & I feel tired. I break out twice a month with mild acne. I have a 3-4 day window where I feel like having sex & my body will respond. Other times I want to have sex, but I am dry and my body is slow to respond. I am moody, easy to cry & anger. My boobs itch, I get bloated and I'm losing hair like crazy!

I asked two of my coworkers if they liked being on this pill and they said it was okay. Unfortunately, I get headaches like crazy. I'm finding that for every pill I take, I also take an Advil! The only positive thing from this pill is that its making my breasts grow (I'm on the smaller side). My breast do hurt and are tender all the time. Not sure if I want to continue this pill because the headaches are really interrupting my life style. Not to mention, I get super moody. I tell people not to take it personally, that it's my hormones. Definitely, more negative than positive.

They did scare me, but I still gave it a shot, and have NEVER been happier with a birth control! My acne is cleared up, my sex drive is still incredible, I have LOST WEIGH and my periods are almost NON EXISTENT! The only thing I wish is that I would have gotten on this sooner! Both of the months that I was on this I had two full periods, one in week 3 and one in week 4. I had mood swings and I was emotional the whole time I was on it. And the worst part is that I've weighed the same thing for the past 10 years, and after being on this for 2 months I gained 10 pounds and after 2 and a half months of not being on any birth control I still have it. Two months was way too long for me.

I take no other medicines. I eat well and exercise regularly. Only in the past 3 months have I experienced headaches, a bit more moodiness and SUPER TENDER breasts, which have grown a cup size so I don't really mind. I could do without the tenderness though. As far as weight gain, I always am up and down 5 lbs a month. I was actually kind of hoping that this particular pill would keep me on the lower side but I guess not. Also after reading others reviews I am now thinking that perhaps I have more upset tummy issues due to the pill.

It apparently has increased my sex drive. I am 35 years of age, married for 18 years and have 5 children. I cannot say anything bad at all about this medication, I love it! Oh yeah, it regulates my periods so as I have them more often with less cramps, I also have lighter periods, which is always a plus.

What I have noticed is that with every hair washing I would pull out lots and lots of hair from my head. At the same time my chin hairs has gotten lighter and I don't have to pluck as often (my facial hair was always a real problem - it was dark and stubby and right under my chin). Since being on this birth control, it has gotten softer, lighter, and less noticeable--but I'M GOING BALD. Also, I seem to be depressed a lot and have very little energy and overall good feeling. I seem agitated a lot and raise my voice more often.

However, the first month I was on it, I did become very hungry often, after that no problems. My boobs did get a little bigger, which is great! The price of this pill is definitely right. Don't think I will be switching anytime soon!

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I started taking Microgestin about 5 months ago. Before that, my periods were already very light and now almost nonexistent. My breasts do get sore, but I have no mood swings and never get cramps. The only thing I've noticed different about this pill is that for the past 2 months, I've started my period a week early (before the placebos). I talked to a doctor and they said it was fine and may eventually even itself out. Other than that no bad side effects.
