Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I take this because my Loestrin pills got overly expensive. The pill works great. I have no periods, but I did get one randomly. It is light and tolerable, I don't feel violently sick like I used to before I took any birth control.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Endometriosis: I started Microgestin 1/20 at age 38 for painful periods due to endometriosis. The first two days I was so sick, but it went away. I think my situation is unique because I was put on this pill to reduce periods. I skip the placebo pill week, and continue onto the next pack of active pills to avoid a period. Its amazing! My "gut" finally feels great! A few not so great things: 5 LB. weight gain almost immediately. GAS. I became really gassy. Not cute. Not sure how to deal with that. SWEET TOOTH. Never had it before. Now I've got one. Overall, I'm pleased.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I was on LoEstrin FE 24 from November 2011 to November 2012. When I moved, my new doctor had no samples of the LoEstrin and moved me to Microgestein FE 1/20. My libido was lowered slightly bit considering on the LoEstrin I was a little oversexual, the lowered drive was a relief. My periods on both pills came every other to every two months. Since I am sexually active, I take a pregnancy test after I finish my inactive pills every month just to be sure, however, it's been effective as a contraceptive. Between the two pills, I have maintained 60 lbs of weight loss postpartum for nearly two years that I had gained while on Depo Provera and during pregnancy. No change in bust size except some swelling before my period.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Acne: After 2 1/2 years of horrible acne, during which I was on antibiotics & topicals that never ended up working, my dermatologist and Dr. suggested I should try birth control. I went to Planned Parenthood and was put on Microgestin Fe 1/20. After about 6 months on this pill, I actually lost weight (due to nausea at first), breasts grew, lighter periods every month, and no change in everything else. As for my acne, it probably got better about 40%, but still had at least 3-5 pimples/cysts all the time and no reduction in face oiliness. Trial and error, now trying Ortho Tri Cyclen.

No weight gain but sore breasts constantly, lack of periods, nausea, shortness of breath. Been on it since December (now it's May) and I've had about enough. My sister was on this pill also and she said she also would go months without a period (which is just get on your nerves).

My periods are light and only last for a few days. My cramps are very tolerable. I don't feel unusually moody or irritable. My breasts did increase in size from a B32 to a D32. My skin is pretty clear, and I did not gain any weight. I would never switch to another birth control!

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: First off, let me say the 9 is being given because I am not using this as traditional birth control. Love the regularity, love that my cramps are gone, love that I can adjust my cycle if I have a special event, love that I have had zero weight gain (have lost weight but that is due to diet/exercise), and love that I still feel like myself on this pill. Monthly I do still experience some bloating and PMS, but compared to my previous almost PMDD symptoms this is great. The moods are much more controllable and I feel less emotional. I would recommend taking the "inactive" iron pills - when I didn't take them my periods were heavier. Good luck!

No weight gain and I haven't got my period. The only problem is my breast have become really sore. That's my only downfall but other than that I like it.

The first week was fine, my sex drive was normal and did not feel depressed. However, once I started the second week I felt extremely depressed and not motivated at all. My breast size has increased which I am not happy about. I haven't noticed much weight gain but the depression is enough to make me call my gyno and switch back to Junel.

It can be rocky, but I think I've gone through everything and am leveling out.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: SO- this was the first birth control that I ever went on and it did its job by preventing pregnancy. However, my main dislike was when I noticed facial spider veins shortly after using this pill. I was on it for nine months and discontinued it, and the spider vein appearance diminished. I plan to go back on this pill but this time I will be wearing sunscreen everyday and working out 5 times a week to improve blood circulation. Good luck!

The first week I felt nauseous and had no appetite, but that subsided. No changes in my breasts. I weighed 142 when I started taking the pill, and I now weigh 132 with zero changes in my diet (and I love junk food). I have had blackheads on my chin the entire time I've been on this pill. I wanted to take birth control to get rid of facial and body hair, but this pill has not helped in that regard. My moods felt stable for the first two months, but then I started crying at everything; happy and sad. Yesterday I realized that my moods are interfering with my relationship, so I will try to find a different pill that does not affect my emotions. This is a fairly stable pill. No extremes.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone): I was on Junel FE 1/20 and randomly got switched to this without any notice. Since it was a bit cheaper I decided to try it without complaints, but I have had a terrible time with this pill. I'm an emotional roller coaster and find myself mopey a lot of the time. I can't sleep, I have night time nausea, I'm on edge and get pissed very easily, and I can't stop eating junk food. My sex drive has dropped also and my acne has flared up and now I'm breaking out all over. I've also had headaches which is unusual for me, I never get headaches unless I slept wrong or am very very stressed. I'm going to get put back on Junel before it gets worse.

I also never experienced any moodiness, bloating, fatigue or weight gain while I was on the pill. It was wonderful. When my husband and I decided to start trying to conceive I went off the pill and had very heavy bleeding for weeks at a time. It took about three months for my cycle to regulate and resume a somewhat normal cycle. At about this same time we conceived. After having our son, I decided to go back on this pill. I have been on it for about 7 months now and it has been a totally different experience. I have not had a normal period when I am scheduled to. It is never the same and is either light spotting or a random heavy gush.

No period yet, which made me nervous until reading some these reviews. I was on Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 and wanted something with less estrogen. I have lost five pounds, no mood swings and I'm loving it. Only thing is night sweats and more emotional at times.

I have less mood swings I'm more calm and my sex drive has improved so that's a plus. There are a few side effects I've experienced though, my acne is breaking out again, I've been having spotting and severe cramps, but I'm going to finish my 3 months and see how it goes... hope this helps good luck ladies!

My breast did go up and for me already being a full D was not good. I will be switching back to the ring! I hope the weight comes off fast!

Each month my period would get lighter and lighter. I had very little cramps. I was pretty happy with it. I stopped taking it for over a year and went back to my doctor 5 months ago to get back on it and now I'm experiencing every symptom possible!

My acne stayed the same. My periods are gone and I do not cramp at all. I have been more depressed and picking out little things to complain about to my boyfriend. He is trying to deal with it but this pill is slowly making me crazy. I need something else! I constantly feel sick and need to go to the bathroom.

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone): I was really worried at first because of all the negative comments. I just finished my first month of Microgestin, and I had absolutely no side effects. I have not seen significant weight gain or terrible acne. In fact, I think this medication has actually reduced my acne! My skin's clear and smooth, and I don't have painful heavy periods anymore. I think it's worth giving this medication a try!
