Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: Amazing ... I was on YAZ and it caused spotting and weight gain, after a year they switched me to Portia and I lost all the weight and haven't spotted since; also my PMS is completely nonexistent now and the killer mood swings I experienced on YAZ are gone too. I can't stop raving about how great Portia is, it made me feel like myself again.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I've been on Portia for over a year and can't complain. I have always had terrible cramps, on the verge of endometriosis, and this is the first birth control of several I've been on that has actually reduced the cramps - and quite significantly. I don't really have problems with PMS at all, but have noticed a lower sex drive. But my periods last 2 days now, and are pretty light, so it's treated me well.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I'm rating this 5/10 because, well, it prevented pregnancy. It was cheap and easy to use, I used it back to back to prevent periods, too. I took it for about 8 months. Right away, I had trouble eating foods, especially in the morning. Even things I liked to eat, cereals, fruits, etc., I couldn't stomach. By month 5 I had chronic nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach. There was hardly anything I could eat that wouldn't make me sick. In the beginning of month 8 I was diagnosed with gallbladder disease. I stopped taking Portia and my symptoms disappeared within a week so I was able to cancel my surgery. I've been on various birth control continuously for over 7 years. I have never had problems before.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I switched to this from the Nuvaring about three to four years ago. It originally worked great; timed my periods perfectly (always Sunday at noon after last active pill), would stop my period with no breakthrough bleeding when starting another pack and made my periods light and pain free. It was also an effective birth control method as I've never been pregnant. This year, however, my boyfriend and I noticed I would have severe mood swings in my third week of active pills. I would literally not want to be in a relationship. I've also noticed breakouts on my face and body and get mild cramping every few months.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been taking Portia for 7 months now. Everything was fine the first 6 months and than all of a sudden I got really bad acne. I have also noticed I have crazy mood swings and so has my boyfriend. I am going to switch .

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on Portia for about a year now, and it has been great and effective. I am not pregnant and it reduced my period days by about four days. I had very bad cramps before I started birth control, but Portia helped a lot. I would recommend this to anyone!

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I've been on birth control for over a decade and Levora for over five years with no issues. The past three months, the pharmacist has substituted Portia for my normal medication, insisting it was the same. In the first month, I noticed severe pain and bloating with my period; the following two months brought bouts of depression, rage and hysteria. If you are prone to depression, avoid this medication. Additionally, I lost my appetite almost completely and probably ate less than 1500 calories a day, AND gained weight! Four days ago, I switched to Syeda (a Yasmin generic) and already I feel better - and my libido has improved.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I started using Portia when I was 17. Not knowing much about birth control pills and what they can really do to you, I didn't really know what to expect or how great this pill actually was! I had NO side effects to begin with. I think my boobs got a little bigger and there was no weight gain and drastically lighter periods. I do have to say, before I was on the pill I had no cramps and I have gotten some after starting the pill, but only on the first day. I'm now 20 and I've decided to switch to YAZ to try something different. I've heard the complaints about it, but I have always had an anxiety and maybe a depression problem so I want to see if Portia caused it. If I do have severe side effects, I'll switch back!

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel): I recently got off of Portia because after over a year of taking it, I noticed it caused me to be more irritable. It did what it was supposed to though - had no problems with that. No weight gain, but I did get pretty bad cramps on the first couple of days of my period. It improved my skin complexion drastically though. I just wish it didn't affect my personality nearly as much.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: Portia is the third birth control that I have tried. I have noticed weight gain that I did not have with my other pills. My moods are also terrible and unstable. I get awful cramps and headaches during my period. Overall, these are small prices to pay compared to other issues I have had with other pills.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on Portia for two years. I would say overall not a bad birth control. When I originally switched to Portia it was much better than the pills I took before. I no longer got nausea after taking it like with my old pills and it cut down my period. Right now I can say a bad period is three days long which isn't bad at all or it just doesn't show up which is nice. I have gained no weight from it. My only complaint is since I started it I've noticed I've gone from wanting sex to having almost no interest in it and I have become dry. My mood has been getting worse each month so I think it's time to switch to a different method.

Portia (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: I have had really bad period experience in the past so I am used to the pain from cramps. On my first month when I started taking the pill my period was so painful I took 9 midols in one day. I know it was a bad idea but I could not stand the pain. I had nose bleeds (which I had never had before). My doctor said to stay on it and see if my body would get used to it. My period pains got better but I was exhausted all the time. I just wanted to sleep and I gained ten pounds. So after being on it for only five months I decided it wasn't worth it.
