Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I took this med for about a week and a half. The first few days, pleasantly, no side effects. Then I started having the worst insomnia, vivid nightmares, and a deep-bone back pain/body aches every night. Fast forward to days 7-9, I still had all of the above, plus acne, panic attacks, racing thoughts, stomach cramps, diarrhea, depression, and hot flashes. At this point, I would rather have heavy, painful, periods! I am an attorney and cannot function like this."

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I am on my second, three month pack of LoSeasonique and I am seriously contemplating stopping the birth control. My first three month pack, around week six I started bleeding. This lasted about a week and I thought my body was adjusting. Since then my face has broken out - I have never had acne problems. I am now on week four of my second cycle of pills, and I am now bleeding lightly again. I am experiencing the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. All I do is sleep, and I am still exhausted all the time. I can't even get myself to do normal activities like grocery shopping."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Since aged 12 I had cramps that would literally make me throw up, bleeding that was so heavy it took 10-12 super tampons a day, and prolonged periods of up to a month. This medication was a lifesaver. My period is now light, few cramps and very short. It helps with my problems. But of course there are some things I don't particularly like. My sex drive is absolutely zero (my boyfriend doesn't appreciate that) and I'm more emotional than ever. Random crying outbreaks happen, and the feeling of raging. "

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I was put on this medicine because my doctor found a uterine fibroid after I went in abnormal bleeding complications. I haven't done well on other birth control methods that caused life threatening reaction, so of course I was scared to find that my treatment option had to be birth control. So far my experience has been great. I had experience intensified nausea at the start, it subsided after the first week. I've completely lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat at least once a day. So in my first two weeks I lost seven pounds. No complaints there. I haven't had abnormal bleeding or cramps throughout my day so its appears to be doing what it is supposed to."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Yes, this medicine was a life saver in the begining. But recently I have felt as if I am losing my mind and myself. I have constant anxiety and when it turns into a panic attack it is draining. I have apocalyptic feelings and struggle to believe myself and others. I would recommend to not go on this medicine and save yourself the mental pain, because there are other measures that can be taken."

Jolessa (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started taking Jolessa to alleviate peri menopausal symptoms, ie inability to sleep, weight gain, fatigue, unpredictable periods, thinning hair and new facial hair. The the first month on it, my facial hair lightened up and my face became smooth again. My mood lifted and I felt great, but that was the only beneficial thing about it. I started bleeding for months - heavily. Using tampons and pads at the same time did not protect me from accidents. The minute I stood up in the morning it would be flowing all over the place. I started getting bouts of sciatic nerve pain, severe pain in my knees. I'd be unable to go from sitting to standing position. I had headaches and more weight gain. I immediately stopped taking it and opted to try natural herbs and vitamins. hemp oil, kohosh, omegas and magnesium/zinc. Plus I just started taking the cherry juice concentrate. I wouldn't recommend it. Try to go natural, you'll see the benefits like I did."

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on this for a month and I was in horrible shape. Spotting, mood swings, headaches, chest pain, shortness of breath, weight gain, major cramps and tummy gurgling. I was in a bad mood every day and I couldn't be nice to my children. I stopped taking them and its like magic, all. My symptoms disappeared . I'm so upset. My new dr recommend this since they do not carry chateal. I loved chateal. It worked great!! I wish my insurance carried these. Never will i take nor recommend this bc."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Have had a period with cramps since Sept 2019. started Seasonique to try to get rid of my abnormal bleeding, I had heavy periods, migraines, nausea and cramps prior to starting and weeks of spotting. Now I'm on my 46th pill of Seasonique and am STILL moderate bleeding must wear tampons or pads daily since Sept, and I have nausea, upset bowels, and horrible cramps sometimes I can't even stand up. My doctor said to keep taking it and finish the pack and it will get better. WILL IT? I have not stopped bleeding for months and its so difficult to explain to a spouse why I feel sick and am STILL also bleeding."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started this drug because I have painful cramps and pretty heavy periods and also I have symptoms of PMDD. On the first month my boobs got a bit swollen and tender and I had less depression which was cool. The 2nd month was cool other than occasional spotting. Then on the 3rd month I made the mistake of forgetting my daily pill and my period started and it’s been happening for about 7 days so far and there’s no sign of it stopping. The cramps is bearable though, my flow isn’t as heavy either but i still have some depressive symptoms and mood swings but It’s not as bad as before I took this drug. I don’t think it’s terrible, though and I would take it again since it did reduce my cramps."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Hi everyone! I am on my 2nd pack Aviane and will be starting on the sugar pills tonight. I love this pill! I do not have as much side effects as how I used to have with other pills. I had a few headaches and some nausea on my first month of using this but those are gone now. No breast tenderness, no noticeable weight gain although I have increased appetite but I try to balance it with a healthy diet and exercise at least 3 times a week. My previous one (Sprintec) caused me to spot and I was having a period for 3 weeks straight. On Aviane, I have no spotting and my periods last for only 7 days and light. I used to have really heavy bleeding which caused my iron levels to be depleted. I develop pimples here and there but they are manageable I do not have any mood swings on this pill and that is just wonderful. I just feel happy everyday! Aviane is a game changer for me and I am so glad that I found it :)"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Love this! I have been on this pill for years now and it is amazing. I use to have heavy bleeding and horrible cramps and this pill has stopped it for me. Due to being anemic and having endometriosis I am set to have my period every 6 months and I never spot in between. This pill is definitely for people who's body can handle going long terms with out a menstrual period. And you have to follow directions, taking the pill the same exact time every day and never missing a pill. Its the only way it will work properly"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Seasonique made my face break out, I had a lot of spotting and abdominal cramps. I was prescribed Seasonique to regulate my periods, and it did the exact OPPOSITE! Since day one of starting this product I have had to wear a pad because of the spotting."

Seasonale (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started the Seasonal Pill because the heavy bleeding caused me to become very anemic to the place I had to get iron infusions. It does make me crave everything, my sex drive is going down a little and I have been bleeding for a while. It went from using a pantie liner to using pads and I'm not even thru my thrid pack of pills. Not sure If I can handle the bleeding like this. And lets's not mention the cramps. I have never in my life had cramps like this like someone is on the inside of me scraping out my inside. I don't think I can hang."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Before I begin my review, I would like to point out to other viewers that some other reviews may scare you, but you should not be intimidated by them, as everyone has a different experience on birth control. That being said, I was iron deficient due to my menstrual cycle, but I was extremely against birth control as a solution for irrational reasons (weight gain, acne, chest growth). Once I began taking Aviane, it not only did its job of regulating my period within the first twenty four hours, but it also cleared up my skin and stopped my hormonal mood swings for the most part. Weight gain has not been too much of an issue either, as I have not gained a noticeable amount of weight. Overall, I have been very happy with the results of this medication, and would recommend it to others, especially those with heavy menstrual cycles."

Chateal (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started this 2 weeks ago when my period started. At first the cramps were crazy and random. The bleeding was heavy for the first 3 days but i was used to that with my normal period. After that everything is fine. I havent had any of the side effects everyone is talking about. The only thing i experience is hot flashes in the middle of the night. But those are better then having mood swings and everything else. I got the med to regulate my heavy periods and hormones and so far so good. i will let you know how next month goes"

Alesse-28 (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My daughter went to the doctor on April 30th, 2020 and complained of cramps and discomfort during her months cycle which was why she was there to see the doctor. No further investigation done by the doctor example, scan, x-ray or referral to a gynecologist instead she was given a birth control pill Alesse 28 . on May 21st 2020 two and a half weeks later she had pulmonary embolism at work and died. The Coroner said it was the medication that caused her death It turned out that she had a benign tumor of the uterus which could have been easily treated. She was a healthy 47 year old woman - not another thing wrong with her. Please rethink birth control!"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started taking this pill 8 years ago. It was awesome. Light periods that lasted only a few days! Recently on third month spotting started. I figured period was coming early bc of stress. About 3 weeks later I’m having the heaviest period I’ve had in YEARS! Painful cramps, clots and just so much bleeding! I am miserable!"

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I went to pick up my Jolessa refill (I loved) and they gave me Quasense. Had spotting/bleeding all summer - 2 months, serious weight gain, terrible cramps, and no libido. With 30 days left in the pack - I could no longer bear the symptoms and stopped 3 days ago. It's nice to have my life back! Bleeding stopped, bloating diminished and desired intimacy with my husband again. This was really a terrible experience. Lesson - stop sooner if not working, don't change your medicine."

Jolessa (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Jolessa is awesome! I've been on it before and had the spotting during the first pack but then it worked great! I began using it again and this time my doctor suggested to take the first month and stop for a week to get a period and then continue with the 2nd and third month. (So 2 periods on first pack) to minimize if not eliminate break through bleeding or spotting. Worked well and I couldn't be happier. Regulated and way less painful!"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started this pill a week before my first period was due because we were going on a holiday. About a week before we were leaving and still in the first pack I I started spotting brown it’s now day 13 and it’s getting heavier with clots and I’m in Mexico with my family and can’t do anything! This sucks!!! I should have just went with a normal birth control and I would have been fine. Or just allowed my period to come while on holidays for the last 2 days "

After the first month being fine I started to bleed in the middle of the pack. This was around July... It is now September and I am still currently bleeding. I will never use this product again, save yourself the money and trouble."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Excess facial hair has always been a problem for me as well as abnormally heavy periods. For the first time in my life I don't have to worry about waking up with dark hairs sprouting out of my chin... three months ago, before taking this pill, I was plucking / waxing every day, and now my upper lip and chin hair has been reduced by 90%. I am 30 years old. Anyone else have this experience? OC's are not a common treatment for excess hair and I'm wondering why, because this has been a life changing experience for me. I don't think I am imagining things. I went from plucking at least once a day to a couple of times a week. Thanks for reading."
