Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on Alesse for 4 years and am very pleased. Before I was on Alesse I was naturally very moody and my periods were heavy, long, and painful. When I started this pill my mood swings evened out and my period not only got less painful but shortened to only 3 days. I was a little concerned about how quickly I would get pregnant when my husband and I decided it was time but no worries there. I came off the pill New Years 2009 and was pregnant by Valentines. It is now January 2010 and I'm holding a beautiful baby girl. I plan on going back on Alesse as soon as possible.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I was on Alesse for over 5 years and never had any side effects. It was recently discontinoued and I'm now realizing how great it was. Every pill I've tried since makes me sore, bloated and causes strange mood swings.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I was on it for 2 years and never had any problems. My periods were predictable and it decreased my cramping and bleeding. I still had a period for 6 days but with light bleeding, it's not that bad.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I've been on this for a month and after the first two days I had spotting occur and it hasn't stopped since. I never had this problem when I was off birth control and when I was on Seasonique, unfortunately it's quite costly.I've also been extremely tired and experienced depression while on this pill. I'm switching as soon as this month ends.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on Alesse for a long time, and it never works as it should. My period was unpredictable in the sense that even if my pack said my period wasn't due for a week, it could come any time. Sometimes it would come a week early, sometimes a week late. I did not get pregnant on this (but we do use condoms).

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I use Alesse and it works in that I have not gotten pregnant and that it drastically lightens my periods. The bad thing is that ever since I started taking it 3 years ago I've been tired all of the time. Morning, noon and night! It's getting worse so I'm going to stop taking this pill. I want my life back.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I used this pill during my teens and it caused irritability and heavy mood swings. Perhaps it was just teen angst but I tried microgynon recently, which uses the same hormones just different levels, and experienced similar mood swings and depression.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Endometriosis: Before being diagnosed with endometriosis, my doctor put me on Alesse to help with menstrual irregularity and intense pelvic pain. After two weeks on Alesse, I had to be put on iron and progesterone because I bled until I was anemic. Be careful about taking hormones that contain estrogen, if you have endometriosis.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel): I've been on this pill for almost 5 years now and never experienced any serious side effects. But I just decided to switch now because lately it seems that the pills are losing their effects! There have been at least 3 times in the past year that my period came earlier than it should. This time totally even 1 whole week earlier! I don't really want to switch because I guess my body is now well balanced with these hormones, but my own opinion is that it's losing effect after this long. I don't know...my doctor said trying other combination wouldn't hurt.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel): I was on Alesse for a little over 5 years and never had a problem. No side effects, and light periods that lasted about 3 or 4 days. I got off of the pill when I separated with my husband about a year and 1/2 ago because of the cost, but I miss the light periods, lack of cramps, and the benefit of fewer break outs.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: If you're looking for a birth control that's easy on your body in the sense that you don't get mood swings, no weight gain, good sex drive, etc., you might like Alesse. If you're looking for all that as well as an acne treatment, BEWARE (especially if you have adult acne)! My doctor put me on Alesse because I was looking for a birth control and an acne treatment (I had moderate adult acne on my cheeks). The first three months, I thought I was in heaven. No mood swings, no weight gain, clear skin, etc. Then approaching my period on the fourth month, I woke up with 6 acne cysts on my chin, jaw and lower cheek. I had never had them before. Still getting pre-period cystic breakout, onto Diane 35 next month.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I was on this for about a year and everything was great. Then I went off it for about 5 years (did not take anything else in place of Alesse). I then went back on for about 6 months. After the first month, I started having severe external itch, got tested for yeast infection but it wasn't it. For 5 months I woke up 2-3 times every night with unbearable itch. I went off the pill and noticed right away the symptoms were much milder. Within 2 months I'm completely normal again. I don't know what's different between 5 years ago and now but something is definitely different.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/ levonorgestrel) for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: This birth control pill was diagnosed for my PCOS and worked well for the first few months but then it gave me severe gallstones and I ended up having to have a gallbladder removal surgery.
