I used Nuvaring for 4 months. Loved that I didn't have to think about the pill, but I started to get very bad cystic acne on my face, then head and bikini line. If you start to get severe acne by the third month on the ring, visit your doctor to switch birth control methods.
I have been on Nuvaring for 4 months. My ob/gyn switched me from the patch to Nuvaring because I was getting estrogen-withdrawal migraines when I took the patch off. I use the ring for 4 weeks, then take it out for 4 days to minimize any headaches. At first, my headaches got worse -- I was having them when the ring was in and when it was out. The ring has a lower dose of estrogen than the patch (which is quite high) and my body was going through estrogen withdrawal. I also had a fair amount of breakthrough bleeding while the ring was in longer periods initially. However, after about 3 months of erratic headaches, things seem to be settling down. My periods are lighter (or non-existent) and the ring is very easy to use.
I was on Nuvaring for a year and loved it! All hormones seemed to be balanced and I didn't gain any weight. I actually was able to lose. The ONLY reason I had to stop using Nuvaring was because it would fall out. For anyone interested in Nuvaring, I would recommend it.

I was prepared for some side effects but so far there's only more wetness (not bothersome) and a reduction in sex drive (haven't decided if it's bothersome or not yet). I keep waiting for the scary side effects you read about but so far so good. I am prone to anxiety and headaches but all that has been just business as usual for me, no increase. No slip out. No pain.
I've been on the ring for a few years and love it! After I put it in I can't feel it and forget about it. I have to write on the calendar when to take it in and out because I never think of it. My libido is very low but I'm not sure if that's me or the ring. No other side effects for me. My insurance changed and I can't afford it now. So bummed to go back to the pill.
I have been on Nuvaring for over a year. Overall I love it. I have done 3 weeks in 1 week out and I have done 3 weeks in and immediately put in a new ring which both have worked without any problem. I also tried 4 weeks in 1 week out/immediately put a new one in because my gyno did tell me the ring actually has 28 days of hormones - but the lowered hormones caused me to bleed a lot.
I do have problems with slipping occasionally and taking it out before sex is a little embarrassing but I love it for how hard it is to mess up.
I've been on the Nuvaring for about 5 years and it has been awesome! I had no side effects, normal periods. Although my boyfriend could feel it sometimes while we were having sex but it wasn't painful for either of us so it wasn't a big deal. I like it too because when my boyfriend was deployed for months at a time I could stay off it and put a ring in a few weeks before he was coming back. I would highly recommend it!

At first, I really liked Nuvaring. It's super easy to use and it's nice to be able to forget about it for 3 weeks. I could feel it every now and then but it wasn't uncomfortable, just there. After one month, I ended up with the worst acne on my back and chest that I have ever had in my life. The acne was so bad, I almost thought it was a reaction. I took Nuvaring out and within a week, my skin was clear again. I didn't have any other side effects besides the acne, but acne isn't something I can deal with. I'm switching back to pills.
This is my first experience with birth control, and I have only been using NuvaRing for one month. Putting it in is very easy, and I did not feel it at all. It never slipped out or shifted positions. Not having to worry about it every day is a huge plus. It wasn't until the end of the third week that I had sex with it in, and although my boyfriend nor I could feel it during sex I found that I was not as aroused as I normally get. This led to much less natural lubrication. I also found that I was not as sensitive to touch or sexual pleasure. Post sex I found I was prone to diarrhea which is not normal for me. Those were my only side effects though.
I am 22 and have been using the Nuvaring for almost 3 months. At first I loved it. It was so convenient. I always forgot to take the pill so I wanted to try something that I could forget about. I'm not experiencing anything extreme but I am not a very emotional person but sense I have started the Nuvaring I am either extremely happy or something little will make me cry or want to throw a fit. I realize it so I can usually get myself stopped but sometimes its too late! Also I have been very tired. I am not completely sure this is because of the ring but I think it is. Also I am bloated all the time and I never used to be! I wouldn't say this product is horrible but for me it isn't worth the inconvenience either.

I've been on the ring for about 2 years and I LOVE the ease of it but don't like the decrease in sex drive (its non existent) and the increase in breast size. I have implants....don't need them larger! I've been crazy, moody also which I didn't really attribute to this until after reading the reviews. I'm switching back to pills to see if it really was the ring or not.
I have been using the Nuvaring for 6 years now, and I recommend it to everyone who inquires!
Its is by far the best method of Birth control I have ever come across, and I have used them all from condoms, the patch, the pill. I had such trouble remembering to take the pill, and now, all I do is put a little sticker on my calendar and just worry about it once a month! Just wonderful...thank you to whoever came up with this great product!
The first month was bad. Breakthough bleeding.. cramping and bloating.. mood swings. But the second month was perfectly fine. I'm going onto my 3rd month now. Once my body got used to it everything was perfect. I love not having to remember to take a pill each day! This is so easy!
I only just started the NuvaRing about 1 month ago after getting my Mirena taken out. So far I already thought I was pregnant because I had nausea and extreme salivation. Headaches, and oh my gosh the back and and stomach cramps were almost as bad as when I had labor pains with my son.
I went on the Nuvaring because I get excruciating menstrual migraines. My migraine specialist suggested that I try it and have triptans as a backup. The first month had only a few issues - headaces but Advil took them away. They were different symptoms than migraines. During the third week I experienced spotting/breakthrough bleeding for 9 days until it was time to take it out and ended up not having a period. I was worried but it turns out that you need to let your body adjust to it first and then it will get normal because it is a very mild dose of hormones. Eventually I'm planning to leave it in for 4 weeks but in the mean time I only had 1 migraine and could tell it was going to be bad so I took a triptan.
Not taking pills was nice, and Nuvaring seams to really help my skin, it's never been clearer. Not sure it's worth the negative side effects, however. I'm really wet, all the time. I have to constantly wear and change pantyliners. It's extremely uncomfortable and a huge hassle. I also think this is making me depressed. I thought it was other factors in my life at the time I started using it, like stress from dealing with school. But after being off it for the summer (tired of the wetness and away from my boyfriend anyway) things went back to normal-including skin problems. I started on it again this fall and my skin is better, but I am very wet and emotional/depressed again, it's affecting my grades. Goodbye clear skin.
I started on the oral contraceptive pill but got horrible nausea and vomiting, so this was my next option. NuvaRing has been fantastic, it has a fraction of the hormones and I get no nausea. Insertion and removing is really not a hassle, and you cannot feel it at all. For me, it beats the pill and vomiting, along with all the other symptoms. I haven't had any noticeable mood issues or migraines. I would recommend it to anyone!
I used to use Nuvaring and only stopped because I wanted to have kids. All in all, it was very effective as a birth control. I did not have any side effects whatsoever. I loved the convenience of changing once a month, and I didnt feel it ever. Only thing, my partner indicated he could feel it during sex sometimes, but it didnt bother him. I've recently had another child and was looking to get back on some control and immediately, I thought of Nuvaring again since I had much success with it when I was using.
I've been on Nuvaring just over three months and I love it. Had a little weight gain at the beginning but that can happen with all birth controls. I only just had my first period on it and it was short, painless and no moodiness with it! Great! Also my sex drive has increased and both me and my husband don't feel it! No loss of ring or falling out! Wish I had heard about Nuvaring years ago!
I have been on birth control for 10 years, 5 on the Patch then 5 on NuvaRing. I love the Ring, but I did get side effects like sore breasts and low sex drive, which I think goes with any hormone birth control. My skin cleared up and no babies so it was great, and really easy. I stopped when it started giving me either a yeast or bacterial vaginosis infection every month around the same time in my cycle. I would take it out and wash it to help prevent. It is down on the list of side effects, but I haven't found anything with LESS side effects so I'm going to go back on it again.

I have only been on it for a little bit but I love it! There are so many pluses to the Nuvaring. You don't have to remember to take a pill, you can easily take it out, you can't feel it, you don't need to be off it for a few months in order to get pregnant! I just recently changed over to this because Yaz was making me SEVERELY depressed. We originally thought I had to go on an antidepressant it was so bad but we figured it was this. I am so glad I got something with low estrogen and something that is so easy. The pills were also lowering my sex drive, but with the Nuvaring all my problems are gone!
I've been on Nuvaring for 3 years, can't imagine going back to pills that made me feel crazy. I honestly forget I have it in and have had zero problems from day 1.
I love being on the NuvaRing! I switched from the pill because it was making me sick every other day and it wasn't the best thing to experience. The NuvaRing has been awesome! I was a little worried about it at first with being in me for 3 weeks straight and if my boyfriend would mind it, but he hasn't said a word about it being in. I don't have to worry about being sick everyday or missing a dose because I can put it in for 3 weeks and forget about it! it has been 100% effective also, we use no other forms of birth control and I'm still not pregnant. The only downside is that I've started to notice I'm a little more dry than usual, but I wouldn't think about going off of it because of that. Its been great and I will continue to use it.
