Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): The first couple of months I took this I had some mood swings and felt rather emotional but that went away. After about 3 months, the acne I had been dealing with my entire life was 100% gone and has not returned for over a year. If there have been any weight changes, it's been lost weight. And it made my boobs bigger. Love it.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yaz for a couple months. I decided to switch to Yaz to gain weight and clear up my mild acne. Overall I have had a positive experience with it. In the beginning, my periods lasted only a couple days, but now, I have no period at all. Also, my face is clear, but I did not gain weight from the pill. The weight I have gained was from muscle weight from working out. I'd say the only negative were my massive headaches when I did have my period. The headaches would come on my first day of my period. But now, with no period, I have no headache!

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been taking Yaz for a little less than a year, but I love it! I'm 18 and a freshman in college, I barely ever have the side effects, and I can tell you when I will start my period pretty much down to the hour. I have suffered little weight gain (but then again, I'm a freshman). I've noticed that my side effects aren't as bad when I do daily exercise. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I love this pill and would recommend it for anyone!

Ocella (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I started out on Yasmin but had to switch to Ocella since I have no prescription coverage. Between the two I was on them for over 2 years. In that time, I gained 20 pounds. After I switched to Ocella, While I was taking it, my moods were level but the first day without the pill I felt completely out of control of my emotions and on an emotional roller-coaster to the point of having to leave work a few times, which is not me at all! Once I got my period, it was better but I didn't look forward to the next month. After a crazy month of break-through bleeding, emotional ups and downs, and feeling like I was going crazy, I asked my doctor to switch me to something else. My sister had the same symptoms within a month or two and so did friends.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been on Yaz for about a year and a half and I really like it except that sometimes my periods are so light, short or non-existent, that I get anxious wondering if I'm pregnant. After reading these reviews I feel better because I realize that is one of the good and bad side effects; good that there isn't much of a period but bad because your left wondering if you're pregnant. I was put on birth control because I get cysts that don't go away but Yaz has helped keep them from growing large. Other positives: my skin is clear except for one or two small pimples around period time, my mood is more regular (prior to Yaz, I would feel like crying/emotional right before my period) and my cysts are controlled. I would recommend Yaz.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I was on Yaz for about three months. I became moody, emotional, it gave me headaches, lowered my sex drive, and gave me anxiety. I just did not feel like myself on this pill. I have since switched to LOESTRIN and so far, its been good. No side effects yet. I'm feeling like myself again. My sex drive is still not what it used to be but I understand that most birth control pills cause a decrease in libido. I personally do not recommend YAZ but I know that each pill works differently for different people, but my friends that were on YAZ said the same things that I am saying.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yaz for over a year now. At first it was great, my skin cleared up, my periods were regular, light and short and my moods varied only slightly. After about the first 5 months however, everything started going wrong. I have constant heartburn, I've gained 10 lbs., I'm tired all the time, my acne has returned and I've been spacey and forgetful. Worst of all are my periods. The week before and throughout my period my moods are ALL over the place, I'm irritable and easily upset which isn't like me. I'm getting severe cramps, migraines and I get really nauseous when I'm on my period, which are heavier now than they ever were and last usually about 8 days, last month it lasted 11! Everyone's different, but this isn't for me.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yaz since June of this year and at first it was okay but no I can't stand it. I'm always tired and I'm not in the mood to do anything. I'm 18 and just started college and met a guy who I'm crazy about but the bad thing is he has to put up with me being tired and moody all the time. Another thing about being on Yaz is that I never know when I'm going to get my period and even between periods I have quite a bit of bleeding. I called my doctor today and she said she would call in a new prescription for me to try so lets hope it helps! I wasn't sure if it was stress about from my college courses that were causing me trouble but then I started reading other people experiences on Yaz and they have been going through the same thing.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've only been taking Yaz a month, but in that month I dropped ten pounds. I started having this weird burning sensation in my stomach. I get really bad dizzy/spacy spells. I'm switching back to my other birth control!

Ocella (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm going through the same thing right now. I used to pay 10 and now they want $40 for Ocella. I'm a college student, I can't afford that every month. So I'm looking into Apri now, as my doctor recommended. Overall, I was fine with Ocella and Yasmin. It made my boobs bigger, clears my face, and I always know when I'll get my period.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yaz almost a month. The reason why I picked, and like this medication is because it doesn't give me mood swings, which every other birth control always causes. My complaints are that I have seen random acne pop up here and there on my face, and a little breakthrough bleeding. I also have cravings, and get super nauseous at the thought of certain foods. I am definitely a picky eater now, and would prefer not to eat, than eat something that turns my stomach (which seems to be a lot of things lately) my breasts are more "perky", and all my milk from my son has dried up fairly quickly. I do get dizzy, it's happened twice only. I also feel a little spacey, but it's getting better. Not sure about weight gain, if any.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been taking Yaz for over 3 years. I needed a birth control pill to take when I was on Accutane for acne, and this is the one my Ob/gyn prescribe. Well I can't say what impact the Yaz had on my acne, since I was also taking Accutane and that would have had a much bigger effect but I did like the lighter and shorter periods. What I didn't expect was for my periods to get lighter and lighter and eventually become non-existent. I haven't had a period in over two years. I didn't experience any weight gain. I have no other side effects, and my skin is still clear. I have nothing bad to say about it.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I used YAZ for about 3 months, and I would give it a 5. The period was very light for me and it had no impact on weight gain or weight loss. It also seemed to have decreased my love for food. So in that sense it was nice. However for the first couple months, I was extremely emotional. I felt overwhelmed about everything and I felt like crying about everything. 3rd month everything seem to have calmed down except the occasional emotional outbursts. After I was on Yaz, I constantly felt pressure in my chest area and heartburn-like symptoms. I never had these symptoms before I started taking Yaz.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I really loved this pill. The only issue is that over time, my cramps became almost unbearable. It is excellent for appetite control related to other pills. I gained ten pounds on Alesse and then lost it when I began Yaz. It is also spectacular for your skin.

Ocella (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been taking Ocella for 4 months, and so far everything is going great. I feel normal, my period comes on time every month, and my period is not as heavy. Occasionally, I feel nauseous around my period, but that side-effect occurs with or without birth control. I would recommend this oral contraceptive to anyone who is between late teens and early twenties.

Ocella (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been on Ocella going on almost a year then boom - it's no longer generic. $35 bucks a month! Or $90 if you buy 3 months (and that's with insurance), all in a matter of three months from when I last refilled my prescription. very upsetting. Only one manufacturer for it so it is now a brand. I'm not sure if this all works under your insurance and what they cover but that was the reason I was given for the increase. Now I'm nervous about switching to something else because that's just outrageous to pay, especially in this economy. $15 bucks for 3 months worth was nice, hopefully having to switch doesn't cost me elsewhere. Other than that I think this is a great birth control and would continue to use it if I could afford it.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been taking Yaz for over a year now. I switched to it from Necon 1/35. I was interested in a lower dose over the long term. My anxiety decreased and blood sugar leveled. However, I improved my eating and exercise habits, so I cannot truly attribute the cause or cessation of any symptoms to either pill. Yaz must be taken at the same time daily or spotting may occur. I cannot attest to its ability to prevent pregnancy as I use other methods concurrently. I would continue on Yaz if it were not so expensive.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): While effective as birth control, I had some bad side effects. I took Yaz for three years and had an increasing number of issues. All the issues I contributed to something other than Yaz until reading some forums where people were having similar problems. Some side effects I experienced were weight gain, severe depression, nightmares, severe migraines, and heartburn. Today my doctor switched me to Aviane. I will take my first pill in about fifteen minutes so I hope that it works for me. I think everyone needs to remember that each person's body chemistry is different so each type of medication will affect everyone differently. I think its pretty much trial and error to find the perfect pill for your body.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm only on day 2 so my opinion might not be worth much. But here's how I feel: I take the pill at 9:30PM, its somehow preventing the Tylenol 3 I take for pain from working properly. I feel really fresh in the morning, tired through the day and then ready to hit the bed at a normal time at night. Overall so far, I like it. I don't have PMDD or PCOS, my Doctor had me on Alesse because Tri Cyclen was causing me hives. On the Alesse I realize I felt really anxious and didn't even consider it was the pill until I took Yaz. Now I feel kind of relaxed and not concerned about everything being perfectly clean. I'm also hoping for the weight loss and breast increase like others. I'm 5"1 and just ballooned to 115lbs over summer BBQ's.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I was on Yaz for almost a year. I gained 25 pounds and am heavier than I've ever been in my life! I've never, ever had a problem with weight gain before. After being on it for a couple months, I started getting weekly headaches. Really bad ones. I decided to go off of Yaz to see if the headaches would go away and I'd stop gaining weight. Sure enough, after about 2 weeks the headaches stopped completely. I haven't gained any more weight either, and I've been off of Yaz for about a year now. Unfortunately, I'm having problems losing all the weight I gained!

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I am 17 and I got on YAZ in October 2008. I had never been on the pill before yet, I had heard bad things about Yaz. I went through some blood tests to make sure that YAZ would be okay for me and turned out I was cleared to take it. I have been taking it for almost a year now and I have felt no symptoms. I actually like YAZ because it keeps me very regular, I know exactly what day I will start and around the time, something I have never had before. Seeing all these bad reviews people are giving it makes me wonder. I haven't had any symptoms really but I have had the occasional cramps. My mom today just got me a new pill called Ocella. I decided to stay on YAZ.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I used Yaz before I quit to start a family. I used it for maybe two years with no negative side effects. I have used others in the past and hated them. With Yaz I had clear skin, no mood swings, I loved it. About a year later I was losing weight. I was more skinny than I had ever been after high school. I can't wait to go back on it as soon as I am done breastfeeding.

I HAVE NO MOOD SWINGS AND MY ACNE CLEARED COMPLETELY, I GET ONE OR 2 ZITS BEFORE I GET MY REGULAR PERIOD ONCE A MONTH. I GAINED A FEW POUNDS BUT IT CAN BE FIXED, I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE NO MOOD SWINGS, SEX DRIVE IS THE SAME AND I LOVE THIS PILL. I USED TO BE ON THE NUVARING FOR A YEAR BUT IT MADE ME MOODY. SO YAZ IS THE BEST THING EVER INVENTED TO REDUCE HUMAN OVERPOPULATION!

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): Yasmin was great for the couple years I was on it, but about a month after I quit taking it my hair started to shed more than usual. After three months I had about a 40% decrease in hair volume and became noticeably thin on top. This is very devastating because I am an attractive, healthy 27 yer old. This is the side effect they don't warn you of.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been taking Yaz for around 5 months and am absolutely miserable. I felt fine over the first two months, and eventually the side effects reared its ugly head. I have never weighed this much in my life, I gained about 20 pounds. I cry every night and am extremely irritable, especially to my poor boyfriend who does not deserve any of it. I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for around 2 years, worked as a birth control pill, didn't gain any weight, was able to lose weight, wasn't moody, only had slight acne... which is why my gynecologist put me on Yaz. I'd rather have terrible acne than feel the way I do on this pill.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I just want to say thank you to all those who took time to write positive things about Yaz. I did a lot of research before taking the pill and frankly, it scared me. So many complaints and horror stories. The most important things to remember is that we all react to substances/hormones in different ways. I'm 35 and haven't taken the pill since I was 20. I am on my 4th pack of Yaz and am very pleased. I had a little spotting in the first two months and stomach discomfort, especially when I forget a pill. Aside from that, I've lost weight and stay slim even when not active, my breasts have gone up a full size which I love. My sex drive is fine, if not greater, no change in moods. Good luck to all.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I would rate this above 10 if I could. This is the best birth control I have ever taken. I suffer from PMDD and my time of the month without yaz I feel like I could hurt people for no reason at all, just because I didn't like the way they looked at me or what ever. Anyways Yaz has helped that out so much. My husband is so happy with the results. I have had no weight gain, no cramping and only 3 day periods with very little bleeding and the best part is no irritability or major mood swings.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yaz for almost 5 months. Every month my doctor told me to try to wait one more month that my body would adjust. It has caused me to have extreme anxiety, gain weight, and severe depression. My poor boyfriend has had to deal with me for the past couple months and I'm nothing but depressed. But it has been great for pregnancy reasons. I'm only with one person so it's my only birth control and so far so good there.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I took Yaz prior to my second pregnancy and absolutely loved it. No side effects so I decided to go ahead and start back on it after I was done breastfeeding my second child. I have some other health conditions, so it has taken me 6 months to link the side effects to the pill. I have had horrible headaches that would grow into migraines, which is not good especially with a 3 yr old and 1 yr old. I am beyond tired, I can sleep 20 hours a day if I didn't have children. I am beyond moody and irritable which has had a huge impact on my relationship with my husband, children, family and friends. I have not had a major decrease in sex drive, but have had a dramatic change in vaginal dryness that would make times unbearable.

Everythings been well, I've got lighter and shorter periods, which I love! No abnormal things happening like mood swings or hairloss like other are experiencing. I think it really just depends on the person whether this pill is right for you, no 2 girls are the same in that area. I recommend it.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I enjoyed being on Yaz very much. I had to switch to a different pill because it's not covered under my insurance. The only side effects I really ever noticed were an increased sex drive, increase in breast size, decrease in appetite, mild reoccurring yeast infections (I've tested positive for track/yeast infections a few times but with little to no pain). Overall, I was extremely happy with Yaz and I'm upset that I have to start a different pill.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm 32 and never took any birth control pills. I was on the fence taking Yaz due to negative responses. I love this birth control and glad I took it. I only experienced light bleeding during the 1st month of taking pill. When I finished the 1st pack the bleeding stopped. I noticed I was emotional when I took the first placebo pill but when I took the 2nd I was back to normal. My doctor put me on the pill due to irregular periods and when they came on they would be extremely heavy. I missed work some days due to this. Well when I got my period with taking Yaz it came on when taking the placebo pills and was light, NO CRAMPS, very short. My skin looks great, I wake up happy as can be, no emotional issues, sex drive up.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been taking YAZ for about 5 months and lately I've been having headaches. I don't know if these are tension headaches or if the pill is one of the causes. Also, I skipped a day in week 3 and I spotted for 2 weeks up until my cycle.

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've taken Yasmin for probably the last 3 years, but I've been using other birth control pills for 12 years and the pill I was using made me gain about 7-8 lbs of water weight. That's when my doctor put me on Yasmin, in a few days I lost the water weight, I don't get cramps, no mood swings, my periods last for 3-4 very light days and I only have them every 3 months, so if your doctor says you can take Yasmin I highly recommend it.

Ocella (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): Ocella is a good birth control medication. For the four months I've been taking it, my only complaint is the multiple periods of breakthrough bleeding, bloating and nausea. I'm sure weight gain would be on my complaint list but you just have to maintain a really good diet and exercise whenever you can. But it's great.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been taking Yaz for 3 months now and I absolutely love it. I've lost weight, without trying, and my periods have greatly decreased in heaviness and severity. I have not experienced any of the bad side effects like depression or tiredness, I wake up happy and ready to go. The only difference I've noticed that is not so great is that the first day of taking the placebo pill I tend to be emotional, but that usually clears up by the second day. Also, if I miss a pill I usually have stomach pain until I take it, which is actually a nice reminder to take it. I love Yaz though and cannot say enough good things about it.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I started using Yaz about a year ago - it has a good side and a bad side. Good: less severe cramps, lighter periods, lighter facial hair (my little peach fuzz mustache disappeared). Bad: Emotional mood swings every month on the first day taking the placebo pill, dramatically decreased sex drive. Overall I liked it and if I was not in a physical relationship then it would be great! But the decreased sex drive put a strain on my relationship so I am trying something different now.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm 19 and I had never taken any birth control before Yaz. It completely cleared up my acne and my breasts significantly increased in size but were very sore all the time. I had no noticeable weight gain or hair loss/growth or spotting. My sex drive was bipolar, however, and taking the pill also gave me occasional slight dizziness, yeast infection, moodiness, anxiety, and even depression which I had never experienced before. I often had intense headaches and stomach aches but no nausea. My period didn't seem to get any lighter or shorter and PMS, though typically not much of an issue for me, was no different. I got to a point where I just felt awful and had to stop taking it after about 3 months.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm on my 3rd week on Yaz and so far I feel okay, normal, but weight at 141lbs and I can't seem to lose or gain and I have to lose 20 pounds so I don't know what to do because eating healthy and exercising hasn't done a thing for me now.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've been on it for 6 months. I've become moody, depressed and I would cry over anything. My boyfriend hates it, and so do I. I'm tired, irritable, and want to be in my solitude a lot. It has put a strain on my life and my relationship. I am switching to a new birth control soon.

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yasmin since I was 15. My periods used to last 9-11 days, were heavy, and very painful. I can remember my mom keeping me out of school due to this. Not only was my cycle completely crazy, I had acne on my shoulders, upper back, and upper arms. Being in high school, something like this can be traumatizing. Anyway after almost 6 years, I have been acne free (maybe the occasional bump or 2) and 4-5 day easy periods! I did gain weight...but who knows if it was because of the birth control...like the lady said before she gained in all the "right" places so I can't complain about that one. I went up a whole up size! I plan on taking this until I decide to make a little one (another 4 years hopefully).

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I can't say enough positive things about YAZ. I was previously on Tilia (Estrostep) and recently switched. In only 3 weeks, my face has almost totally cleared up and my skin looks overall so much better. I seem to also have lost a little weight which is always a plus. The only one negative thing I can say is I am a little more tired in the mornings but it's not too bad. I would recommend this product a million times over.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been taking Yaz for a month now. I have been on so many birth controls in the past and they all made me crazy. I feel normal on Yaz. The only downfall is I do have a hard time getting up in the morning. Extremely tired. There is no spotting though, no bloating, no headaches and I think I lost weight which is a plus.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): Yaz has been a really good birth control for me. It improves my mood and makes my periods very light with hardly any cramping. And I heard it helps you lose weight also. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an overall good birth control.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I'm just finishing my 1st pack of Yaz and couldn't be happier. A few years ago I tried the shot, only once. It took a full year for my period to get back to normal. About a year ago I tried a generic birth control pill. It was an effective form of birth control, which was the major reason I used it for, but similar to the shot I had almost no libido, was very emotional and had bad acne. My fiance kept bringing up Yaz. I decided to give it a shot since he put up with me so long. I've been happy, acne is going away, no bad side effects and libido is up. The only way to make it better is if it was cheaper. My insurance only takes off $10, so $50/month for BCP is the only downfall.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I think Yaz is a good birth control pill overall. My doctor switched me to this pill b/c it is one of the lowest doses out there- I needed to go back on bc pills because I suffered from hot flushes as soon as I went off the pill. It took two weeks on Yaz to stop the hot flushes (I'm only 42, by the way) and I feel so much better. I do agree, however, that it does make me a little tired and I do have some headaches (during the period week)- but nothing like the monster headaches I got on some other brands. All in all-a good product. I will be on it as long as my doctor allows me to- hopefully to 50.

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I have been on Yasmin for 5 years, since I was 16. I stopped it for a few months (I switched jobs and lost my insurance). In that time I went to a clinic and was given their low-cost birth control pills. Once I got back on yasmin, I stopped having breakthrough bleeding, headaches, nausea, and everything in between. So of the two or three birth control brands I have tried, Yasmin is by far the best.

Yaz (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I love yaz, it has it's downs like the tiredness and sometimes the bad headaches, but overall it's been a great birth control for me. I was on another one about two years ago, and nearly killed myself while on it because of the hormones. Me Yaz=Love.

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): Out of all the birth control pills, this one is best! Gained some weight in the "right" spots :) Less PMS, if any @ all, lighter periods/flow. And this pill is safe enough to take for 3 consecutive months, so you can have your period only 4 times a year!!! That's so AWESOME!

Yasmin (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol): I've taken depo for about 5 years I have a very serious large amount of cyst in both my ovaries, a few Dr. have told me I have PCOS and I use to be in alot of pain from the cyst. My Dr. sugested surgery to remove my ovaries, so I went to a different Dr. My new Dr. prescribed be Yasmin as a birth control instead of the Depo I've been taking, it was so it would stop me from ovulating at all and sure enoughf within a month the pain was gone. Yasmin helped me get rid of my ovarian cyst problem.
