Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have found tenuate helps with focus greatly and keeps me regular with bowel movements. I am allergic to something in the generic .I found that it affects your glucose in some ways,\. In the morning I crave something sweet where the brand had none of these affects. I retain things better and am able to stay on task when I do paper work which is hard for me to sit to do. The 25mg is the best. I used to take the 75mg. some days I only take the 25mg only one time a day instead of 3."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "YES and NO! I recently went to a weight loss clinic and was started on this medication. It worked immediately! I didn't feel hungry at all! I ate healthy meals and snacks. With little work out the first week I lost 6.5 lbs! I was SO happy. Then came the ER visit this morning. :( Yes, I experienced the "normal" side effects the first 4 days. However, on day 8 I got a stabbing chest pain. Over all I am a pretty healthy 27 year old. I knew chest pain could be a serious side effect but didn't connect it to the medication just yet. I noticed a lot of tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, and fatigue. I got a full work up at the ER which thankfully came back clean. However, I got a very serious talk from the ER MD who said STOP taking immediately. As you can imagine hearing this sucks. Does it work yes! Can it cause serious health risks? Unfortunately in some people (me) it does."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After gaining around 70 pounds during the pregnancy of my daughter regular diet and exercise just weren't cutting it. I've never taken diet pills before this but in just 6 days I've lost 7 1/2 pounds. I do get the dry mouth side effects, slight headaches & funky vision here and there but it's working wonders! I know the weight loss will slow down but I'd like to lose another 40."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Tenuate only for 2 days and I barely eat 2x/day but I drink a gallon of water daily. I still do intermittent fasting. No side effects but I do have increased energy and it has really curb my appetite. I haven't check my weight yet too early to tell."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was just placed on Tenuate 2 days ago by my physician. I have tried many weight loss options but have had no success. I just have no will power. I am an RN, and reading about this medication I must say that I am going into it a little frightened. But, if you all can do it...so can I! I was so motivated by your many success stories, I hope that I can be one to post one also. My first day mirrored some in that the dry mouth and jitters are what bothered me. I don't think I will be able to take the medication at work. That will be okay, I don't have much time to think about food anyway. Lol! Best of Luck to you all!!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have tried both Diethylpropion and Phentermine. The Phentermine worked very well! I lost 40lbs with almost no exercise at all. But I experienced dry mouth and the jitters. On the downside I loved snacking and its usually after dinner or right before. I was taking 30 mg and I had NO cravings for anything! I loved it! So I am now on the Diethylpropion 25 mg immediate release which is not cutting it and I talked to my Doctor and he increased the dosage to taking 50 mg a day and still not doing the trick just yet. So its my cravings that are bad especially around my cycle. I will be maybe trying the 75 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on this medication a month and I have lost 11 lbs. With the appropriate diet and exercise this medication is wonderful. At first it did give me the gitters and a mild headache but after a few days its just fine. It controls my appetite and I have to remind myself to eat alot of the time. I also take Topamax at night time as part of my weight lost plan. I highly recommend this medication."

Tenuate Dospan (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is my first day and so far I have eaten one low fat yoghurt, two apples and a big salad with lettuce, cucumber, sprouts, 1 egg, bit of feta and half a tin of tuna with a little bit of homemade dressing..yummy. If I can keep this up I will be over the moon."

One thing I've found to be the key to my success, is working out and making sure I eat enough calories. I only want to lose 17lbs more pounds and I'm keeping "the faith", that I will accomplish my goal."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is my third day on Tenuate. I am taking the 75 mg once per day and have found that it works really well when I take it on an empty stomach with a FULL glass of water. I lost about 30 lbs on my own and then got stuck because I could not overcome being hungry all the time. So I went to a weight loss clinic and was prescribed this pill. In the last three days, I have had so much energy, no problems sleeping and my appetite has decreased enough that I can stick to my 1100 calories per day with no problem. I am already down 8 lbs. I know I won't lose like this every week, but it is nice to be out of the rut I was in!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been taking med for two weeks and 5 days. In my first week the side effects where anxiety and sweating. I didn't have dry mouth but I do now, the second day I felt depressed, the third day I was anxious then I had mid cycle bleeding from then on for about 4 days and was kinda tired but I also wasn't well and I have had the contraceptive implant fitted recently so I wasn't really worried about the odd bleeding as i felt fine in myself. End of wk 1 I had lost 13lbs in my second wk lost 4lb so still a decent loss. I haven't exercised as I've been mad busy but I will when it becomes hard yo loose more weight then I'll step it up with the exercise :) its a 10/10 for me so far just listen to your body you know your body best."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on diethylpropion 25 mg three times a day for almost a month and have not lost any weight at all. I do exercise 5 days a week, so I figured I would see some fluctuations on the scale, but nothing. My appetite has not been suppressed at all with this medication; I actually feel like I am hungrier if that makes any sense. The only positive about this medication is that it does not give me the jittery, teeth grinding, up all night feelings like phentermine gave me."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I LOVE TENUATE. IT'S A DREAM PILL. Nothing else worked, but this is amazing. I feel SO much better than I have before, and I've been on it for 3 weeks now, and have lost 13 pounds. You just don't think about food as much, and it's amazing how quickly you get full. I can't believe it took me this long to find it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on this medicine diethylpropion for 1 month & 1 week and I have not lost any weight. I started on 75 mg XR. This week, the doctor increased meds by 25 mg hcl (4 pm). I’m not hungry and I work out consistently but no weight loss. Anyone else having the same issue? I’m wondering if it’s because dr switched me from Phentermine Which I did lose 17 pounds while taking it."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been using Tenuate 75mg for 4 months along with a modified high protein/low fat diet substituting 2 meals a day with a protein shake. I have lost 41 lbs and gone from a size 20W to a size 14! I am very happy with my weight loss and how this drug makes me feel! I have no jitters or racing heart and can tell a difference if I forget to take it. On days I forget I feel like I'm searching for something to put in my mouth and have to make a truly conscious effort to drink more water and not succumb to my cravings/urges to eat anything and everything! Days when I take it I almost never think about eating and have to use the alarms set on my blackberry to remind me to eat every 4 hours! I have a lot more energy and no trouble sleeping."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Tenuate for many years - it had initially helped me lose 40lbs- I’ve been in a lot of pain, several back surgeries later- and use medical marijuana (MM) instead of a pain medication. MM I think increased my appetite . In any event I’ve gained 25 lbs. After many years of use, the Tenuate isn’t as effective as it once was. But it has helped me for the last 10 yrs on/ off the medication."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I did very well taking Tenuate and lost over 50 lbs. It gave me more energy to exercise, less of an appetite, and generally more hope to get my weight regulated. I didn't experience any negative side effects. However, when I stopped taking the pills, I slowly put the weight back on. Almost all of it. It's devastating. I don't think it should be a short-term solution."

Tenuate Dospan (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am ashamed to admit it, but I have been using this drug for over 20 years, on and off. It is extremely effective with the right mindset, and I have been able, with exercise and diet, to shed more weight with them than without. I take only one pill a day, around 11 am, after a sensible breakfast. I find it makes sweet cravings lessen. I never have more than a stone to lose, so guess I'm using tenuate to control eating. It does make me feel more alert, though not frantically so! My heart is fine and blood pressure always good, so this helps. I read a scientific study about long-term use, which did not raise any concerns - I would certainly stop using it had there been any. Adding up what I have paid over the years though - to keep ONE STONE off it is ridiculous!!"

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am no longer obese, but it looks like I will have to fight bulimia all my life. With ups and downs. It is not like I have not tried to work the roots of the problem, but extra help is needed now and then, as I can't eradicate it it seems. Tenuate has been a great support. I have used it sporadically, for moderate lengths of time. It has helped me so much when bulimia takes over, it lifts the dependency. Unfortunately it is no longer approved in Europe. I feel let down, and left to face my problems the hard way, again and again. "

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been using this medicine for the past two week and started weighting 224 and now I am down to 214. I lost ten pounds and have 30 more to go. I take half a pill in the morning (10:30) and half in the afternoon (4PM). I have kept my calories I take down to 1000 calories and have been very strict with. I have not gotten started with my exercise yet. The only side effects I have experienced have been dry and sower mouth, some constipation, and only sleeping about 6 hours at the beginning. I am pleased with my progress so far!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took diethylpropion 75 mg 5 years ago for about a year and lost 55 pounds. In that time I noticed my heart rate rise about 10-15 points. Last year due to stress with work and private life also work overload and not having the time for taking proper care if my self I gained it back and some more. I started taking it again 2 weeks ago. And what I noticed, first of all suppresses my appetite for couple of hours and gives me energy for the meantime, but my heart rate doesn't rise anything, the effect doesn't lasts long and I don't loose any weight. Can anyone give me any suggestion how to make things work again. My husband and I would like to have a family/ kids and it would be really important to loose at least 30 pounds."

Now I am not sure if I gonna lose anymore weight. I am nearly finishing another 10 days and nothing is happening. I just hope another 10 days gonna better and I gonna lose 5 kg more."

Though there is a lot of hard work involved in exercising and making sure to eat right, but I would recommend Tenuate to anyone who needs to lose a significant amount of weight."

Tenuate (diethylpropion) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Tenuate for about 3 weeks now and I have lost 10 lbs so far. That was without watching my diet too much and little to no exercise. I asked the doctor to put me on something to help because I might have to have back surgery. I can't do a lot of cardio aside from walking. He put me on this and I've been feeling so much better. I sleep great, no side effects aside from dry mouth and I do get dizzy quite a bit. Definitely makes me not want to eat. In fact if I go to eat something an hour or so after taking it I feel like I'll get sick if I keep eating. I know it trigger's nerve's in your brain so everyone's reaction will be a little bit different. I don't feel like I'm over energized or "spacey". 20 lbs to go!"
