For Pneumonia "After feeling lousy for months, I had a very bad pain that made me go to the ER! Because of the pain and location, I was given x-rays and found no broken ribs. There was a "spot" on my lung and I was given an anti-inflammatory along with pain med via IV. Before leaving I was given 500 mg of Azithromycin and 2 days later I feel better than I have in months! Guess I had walking pneumonia and praise the ER dr. for knowing what to prescribe (regular antibiotics and penicillin will not touch this), I was sent home and told to have a repeat x-ray in 4 days! Never had any side effects from this med (guess I was given the child's dosage because of my weight) so that may be why I had no side effects! Needless to say, I have nothing but good things to say about this drug and my drs!"

Azithromycin Dose Pack (azithromycin) for Bronchitis "I was prescribed and took the Azithromycin pack (Z Pack) when I came down with an acute case of Bronchitis. It was the traditional 2 pills at the first dose, and then 1 pill each following day. I started to feel a noticeable improvement by day 3, and was nearly completely better 7-8 days later. The medicine definitely worked for me, however, the side effects were strongly unpleasant. I had severe stomach pains, along with diarrhea, even when I did take the pills with food. Since the pills work for 10 days, i had the side effects for that long too. Overall though, I happy I took the Z pack and it helped cure me quickly."

For Pneumonia "After what started out as "hay fever" and quickly escalated into a head cold, then severe lung infection including shortness of breath and the inability to expel the phlegm I went to urgent care. They prescribed azithromycin (500 mg followed by 4 doses of 250 mg) it took 3 days before I started to feel relief. I was feeling very sceptical until I got up this morning With only one more day worth of the medicine I can honestly say I think this stuff is great."

Zithromax (azithromycin) for Sinusitis "I was prescribed a five day round with the Z-pak after developing a severe flu-like upper respiratory infection with stuffed and painful sinuses plus aches, sore throat, diarrhea, muscle pain, nausea, and more. I had a Rituxan infusion, and all of this started the next day (common side effects or adverse events). I have rheumatoid arthritis, and my immunosystem is screwed to begin with and the Rituxan infusions temporarily make it worse. So I picked up a bug; bam! Long story, short ending. The Z-pak began working almost immediately, and two hours after my second pill of 250 mg (first was 500) I don't feel sick. My sinuses are still a bit clogged but that's livable. I'm impressed."

Z-Pak (azithromycin) for Bacterial Infection "I'm only on day 2 and Z-Pak has worked wonders. I have taken it with food and with a pretty healthy system, I have had no side effects. I have a bacterial infection in my gums causing the tissue to swell over a tooth which caused the pain to be unbearable, but after a couple of these pills I can already see the difference. Things feel better and the infection is clearing."

For Bronchitis "I'm 43 with a life long history of bronchitis. When I get sick, I often find myself coughing until I vomit. I have been prescribed the "Z Pack" several times. I have found that, while it does ultimately take care of the bronchitis, it takes at least 7-8 days from the time I start the medicine until I begin to feel relief. In fact, during this current episode, my symptoms continued to worsen until today, which is the day I took the last pill. I don't yet feel any better, but today I am not getting any worse. This is consistent with each of the other times I have been prescribed this medication. I typically don't have major stomach issues while taking the medicine, but on occasion have had issues the first and second day."

For Sinusitis "I got a sinus infection for the first time in my life and when it didn't go away I was given Augmentin - it barely helped. Went back to the ENT and he gave me cephalexin. Not much improvement. Then he gave me Cipro. I gave up. My quality of life was so much lower. I couldn't smell. I had to sleep elevated. I never imagined how bad a sinus infection was, especially chronic. Then a dentist gave me a Z pack on recommendation of a friend. Within days I was a new woman. I could smell! I could breath. I was so grateful."

For Pneumonia "Woke on a Monday, with a cough & shortness of breath. Got worse through the week. Went to a Urgent Care & after being tested for the Flu, they agreed with me that I had Pneumonia. 3rd time I have had it in 15 years (I'm lucky like that). They gave me a shot & put me on 250 mg for 5 days. On day 4 still out of work, with coughing & shortness of breath. Meds, tore up my stomach & caused pain towards the right side. Eat some yogurt before taking, helps some. Either I worse then I thought or it's taken this med longer then I expected to get me back on my feet. Also caused caused some headaches. Good luck to others taking & hope it helps you to feel better."

For Sinusitis "Had sinus infections most of my life. Prescribed for first sinus infection 20 years ago & just ended a 6 week infection with 5 days of 500mg. They've tried about every other antibiotic alternative for fear longterm exposure to azithro could decrease effectiveness. Other antibiotics, air purifiers, nasal wash systems, sprays, antihistamines.. nothing else works for my sinuses. The only side effect I get is INCREASED appetite. Still, azithro is the ONLY thing that works for me 20 years!"

Zithromax (azithromycin) for Chlamydia Infection "Found out I got the Clap from this girl at a festival three weeks ago. Got tested and turns out my irritation was chlamydia. Took my dose of Zithromax and called up the ladies I had sexual relations with since. They all had it, super clap. Now I gotta buy them all flowers and get them zithromax. Meds worked but I had severe watery poos. I'm back to action now but I'll be more careful in the future!"

For Chlamydia Infection "hi, i recently got out of a relationship. It was a hard and painful breakup to endure. I started using sex as a coping mechanism and it wasn’t long before I caught the chlamydia. I compared my symptoms to a UTI. Please always use protection. I'm glad it was only chlamydia. It could’ve been worse. I took two azithromycin pills at the same time after dinner one night. I felt incredibly nauseous, sick, and irritable an hour or two later but that just means it’s working on the infection. But, it’ll still have the symptoms until it’s been a full 7 days then it should clear up. But, make sure you drink lots of water to get that infection out of your system!"

For Sinusitis "Had a very sore throat, sinus and ears completely congested, lungs and back extremely sore with a gurgling sound in every breath and continuous coughing. Overall I felt very miserable. I'm very reluctant to go to a doctor but finally did. I was given the 5 day Z-pack. I noticed feeling a lot better even after the first dose. I wasn't expecting something to work so quickly. Now on the 3rd day and sort of leveled out. Not feeling better but I'm not miserable. Still congested in my lungs but I can breath freely. I hope this knocks it out by the 5th day."

For Chlamydia Infection "worsttttttt medicine you could ever take! I took 2 azithromycin and in 1 single dose when I first woke up because I had just found out about it and I went straight to the pharmacy that morning because I wanted it out of my system ASAP! 15 mins later in the shower I’m moaning in the worst pain I’ve ever been in. That pain topped period cramps, they were awful! I screamed for 45 mins in pain. But it works. Never again though."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took two 500mg (1,000 total) in one dose. A little stomach pain but was able to sleep it off. No other side effects. The key to taking this antibiotic is to EAT EAT EAT. Eat something before and eat something after. And drink an entire bottle of water and then some. You'll be fine! Most people only share negative reviews but my experience with the antibiotic was just fine. And I have the worst anxiety. Just eat and drink water, and you'll be FINE."

For Chlamydia Infection "I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin in 2 500mg pills. My doctor allowed me to take them an hour apart as to try to avoid some stomach upset. I took them at 8pm with dinner, and was fine till about midnight. I got pretty bad stomach cramps and diarrhea consistently throughout the night. By the next morning though everything had subsided and I was fine. Ate normally, felt no side effects. I began feeling better after a day and was negative upon re-test. Medicines work good, you just have to put up with a few unpleasant side effects sometimes."

For Pneumonia "Unfortunately, although Azithromycin is a very good antibiotic, it is prescribed mostly for viral infections in the acute care setting based on people's symptoms and not on x-rays of the chest. If you have bronchitis which is mostly viral, Azithromycin is not going to do you any good. The color of the phlegm does not correlate with bacterial infections and therefore should not be used as a criteria for prescribing antibiotics. Fever does not mean much initially but after a URI or brochitis for 7-10 days fever is more significant and a bacterial source should be assessed. Sinusitis is not a shoot from the hip diagnosis. There are four pairs of para nasal sinuses and the doctor or PA cannot look inside your head. Do an x-ray or CT. Beware."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "My young son was presciribed this for severe tonsillitis. His fevers were very high. Paracetamol would bring it down but it would be right back up long before 4 hrs were up. The Azithromycin just made him sicker. He had the worst diarrhea and gas and abdominal pain which was very difficult for an already miserable child. After 3 days he wasn't improving and was changed to a different medication."

For Bronchitis "I went through 4 days of hell. Coughing to the point my sides would cramp. Night sweats and constant chills (when I say night sweats I mean a waterfall) finally went to the clinic and was told that I have severe bronchitis and on-set pneumonia. He gave me a 5 day Z-pack and since taking my first dose I have improved. I was also given Ventolin. Combined they are working."

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed azrithromycin by my Dr for sinusitis. I have suffered from year-long allergies since I was a kid & this year has definitely been a bad one for me. I was a little worried about taking this medication because I read that some people got bad stomach upset with it. Luckily enough, the worst thing that happened to me was minor lower abdominal cramps, no worse than menstrual cramps. By the time I woke up the next day I was able to breathe clear for the first time literally in months. I did not feel congested, although I did have a very minor sore throat that I believe was caused by my sinuses finally draining. I definitely recommend taking this drug with food --it helps avoid stomach upset or cramps. Otherwise this helped me"
