Strattera (atomoxetine) "This is one of the best medications for my ADHD and my social anxiety. My energy level, ability to socialize, my attention span, and overall anxiety has improved. It has helped me make friends and probably saved my job. 2 disclaimers however, it kicks up my libido to the point or I am almost hyper sexual. You have to be careful and ask your doctor for liver function tests, as this drug can cause liver toxicity in some people."

Strattera (atomoxetine) "I've only been taking this medication for about 2 weeks and notice a severe drop off in my anxiety levels around people. The only downfall to this medication is the increased level of depression. I'm 22 and so far this combined with Klonopin seem to be the best combination I've had."

"I remember atomoxetine making me feel like I had just gotten out of the gym. It gave me this "relaxed readiness" that was pretty nice, but besides that I noticed no improvement in my ADHD symptoms. But, I can see how some with SAD could get relief from atomoxetine, though it is definitely not the best med for SAD for most people. Much better choices would be buspirone and/or a tricyclic or an SSRI. If you want to feel like you went to the gym and have a little of that confidence, and this will make you feel more relaxed, then atromoxetine is for you!"

"I have tried so many medications for my social anxiety, depression and ADHD (Pristiq, Ritalin, Adderall, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Prozac, and Lexapro). Pristiq (SNRI) worked wonders for my social anxiety. I was on it for 10 years but had to get off because my brain fog was just unbearable. Two years of trial and error, I've realized the BEST combination for me has been Prozac (SRI) and Strattera (NRI), which makes sense because together these two drugs work similarly to an SNRI. Overall, my social anxiety and negative self-talk have decreased significantly, and I feel a lot calmer. I can socialize and pay attention to what other people are actually saying rather than wondering what they're thinking of me. It's been a huge game changer, and I hope this becomes more commonly prescribed for SAD because it's helped me so much."
