Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Pain: I have had migraines my whole life and I am happy with the combination I am on now of Fiorinal and daily 100 mg Topamax. I can't handle more than 100 mg (50 mg twice a day) of the topamax without unwanted side effects. 100 mg of Topamax is not enough to keep me headache free. It only cuts down on the headaches and makes them not so intense -instead of 9s and 10s I get 7s and 8s. Fiorinal knocks the headaches right out. If I catch it in time I only need to take 1 but if it's a really bad one, I take 2 and lie down. It has worked great for my tension - cluster migraines.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Headache: I have used Fiorinal for 31 years. I use it sparingly, so as not to develop any resistance to it (I don't want my body to not respond to it). It works wonderfully on my headaches ... I can take 2 caps, lie down in a dark room for 20-30 minutes and my headache is gone. I have found that I take less medication when I take 2 at a time. If I take only 1 capsule, I will have to take at least 2 more doses ... and wait 4 hrs between doses ... before the headache is gone. This way, the headache is gone quickly and I use the minimum amount of Fiorinal.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Headache: This medication works great for my tension headaches. I only need them once or twice a week; taking two relieves the headache or at least reduces it so much that it does not bother me.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Migraine: I'm 53 and have migraines since I'm 15. My doctor made me try a lot of medication over the years, including the Triptans and I had to go a couple of times to the hospital (urgency). Nothing worked until my doctor gave me Fiorinal. I'm using Fiorinal for 20 years now and it works fine. I have less migraines today.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Headache: I start taking this medicine about 7 years ago. I used to have this very bad headaches and my Doctor kept giving me others medicines that never worked, at that time my husband had a prescription for Fiorinal to cure his tention headaches and one day when I was in a very bad shape, he suggested me to have one. After 1/2 hour I start felling the release. Since then I have my own prescription. It worked wonderful for me and my husband (we are both professionals and very busy at work).

I have been on it for a couple of years now and it is not as effective for me as it once was and the side effects sometimes make me feel off for the rest of the day, but I have always thought that the side effects were better then the pain of the migraine. Two day weekend headaches after a rough week were frequent (about 15-20 headaches/year) over next 10 years. They laid me up for hours or days. If taken within a few hours after a headache began, fiorinal is very effective. Wait a day and pain is partially reduced but lingers for 24 hours or more. Headache frequency gradually declined with aging. At current age headache frequency is down 95%. Fiorinal was a great help to me.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Migraine: I have been using this drug since close to FDA approval in 1976. No side effects, works within ten minutes. Doctors have tried to get me to use "newer" drugs but this one works like a charm. When I was younger I used it at least twice a month now only use it twice a year if at all.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Headache: I have been using this medication for my complex tension headaches for 2 years now. I have a condition that causes chronic muscle spasms/trigger points in my upper back, shoulders, and neck. In turn the spasms start a chain reaction which results in severe headaches. This is the only medication that has successfully relieved my pain, and it does it without any adverse effects, and very quickly. 2 capsules, either at the same time or within an hour of each other, and the pain is on its way and I am able to move and turn my head again.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Migraine: This medicine is frequently prescribed to me when I end up in the ER for a particularly bad migraine. It does very little for my headaches, dulls the pain a bit for several hours and then once it wears off, I'm back to square one. Not practical for me to take this one unless I have the day off from work.

Fiorinal (aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine) for Migraine: I have been getting these nasty migraines for sometime now, and not even three percocet's work on it! I called the doctor last night and she called in a prescription for Fiorinal. I went and picked it up and took one tablet and within 1/2 I had some relief, then finally 1 later no migraine! Yesterdays migraine started at 1 pm and lasted until about 8 pm. I am still neutral about this drug, however I don't have a migraine today so I think it might have worked! I would like to hear more relief/non-relief stories if possible.

aspirin/ butalbital/ caffeine for Migraine: I have had migraines for 10 years, since I was 14. I have been on several preventative medications but finally found a combination that works. I currently take 25 mg of Topamax in the morning and 50 mg of Topamax at night. After all my years of seeing a neuorologist my family Doctor wrote a script for the Butalbital Compound and it has changed my life! I can take 2 when I start getting the aura and usually knock it out. If the migraine is too much for that to handle I'll take a Norco and lay down in a dark room. Overall this combo has really changed my life. Love this medicine.
