i asked my pharmicist what was Bupropion used for and he said sometimes it is used to stop smoking amoung other things

Zyban (Bupropion) is a pill you take to reduce your craving for tobacco. The way it does this is not entirely known. Bupropion does not contain nicotine and does not help you quit smoking in the same way that nicotine replacement therapy does. But like other medicines, it decreases cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Zyban and marijuana should not be taken together as there have been cases of induced psychotic behavior.

In 2000 I wanted to stop smoking after 30 yrs. My HMO would not pay for smoking cesstation products so my Dr. Prescribed Wellbutrin. He said that I should only take this drug for 90 days and not to smoke while taking it. Praise God, I was on the drug 60 days & forn the past 11yrs been smoke free. Dr.says that some meds have some components of cesstation products. I'm a witness to its effectiveness. ;-)
