I am really struggling it seems. I am irritable. I cannot stand my house being a mess, and we have twin boys who are 8, and couldn't care less what level of cleanliness they are living in. At times I even think I can't stay there anymore. That is so awful now that I actually type it. I have been taking 50mg daily for about 1 year now. Please help!!

Hello ShaunRN. Your dose of Zoloft might need to be increased. 50mg is not a high dose so there is room for that. What happens after being on an drug for a lengthy period of time such as yourself, it can begin to work counter productively and any increase might or will not help your irritability. The answer then might be to try another drug, such as say, Lexapro. best of wishes to you, pledge

I agree!
It makes me feel a little sad to be looking to meds to deal with this sort of thing. I'm sure so many feel this way. As a nurse, I see so many living and functioning on medications. But I also don't want to live this way. Always frustrated and discontented. I have so much to be thankful for. Thanks for all of your input. :)
Hi, there are so many people around the world that benefit from anti-depressants, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. If they can give you a better quality of life, then why not? I've been taking them for years and they have worked miracles for me. I hope you are soon feeling happier : )
Thank you so much :)
I have already put the request into my doctor!
Please talk to your doctor BEFORE you increase the mg on your medication. Ask him as MANY questions AS you want.
