stabilised my condition. However, a study then revealed that long term high dosage could cause cardiac related probs. I have now been on 50mg Zoloft and am experiencing rapid mood highs and dips. Is this common on Zoloft. Btw my dr has upped me to 100mg Zoloft today. Any feedback on this welcomed

Hi, i don't know if you are still taking the Citalopram? Just wanted to add that i am on 60mg, have been for years. I have regular ECG's to be safe, but i've never had a problem with it. Obviously the warning needs to be heard, but it doesn't affect everyone badly : )

Thanks. I was on 40mg for years and then in November 2011 Dr upped it to 60mg to combat worsening symptoms. Had great results but then they got worried about the cardiac warnings (must have be their only patient on high dosage) and switched me to Zoloft, initially on 50mg and after 4 weeks have upped to 100mg. Would have been happy to stay on it as the switch has caused a lot of probs at what is a major stressful time in my life. Citalopram worked so well for me, hopefully Zoloft will do the same, only time will tell what dosage is right for me:)

Is it common to have great moodshifts on Zoloft?
Most certainly. It happens just not on Zoloft but also to some of the other drugs as well. Not uncommon. Thats often the reason a drug is adjusted.
