Zinc oxide is not a treatment for psoriasis.

Zinc oxide is not a CURE for psoriasis. However, I use a 40% zinc oxide cream on my psoriasis at night to help heal the skin. I also use "Barrier Cream" under my surgical gloves during the day to protect my hands (where I have most of psoriasis) from the aggravation of sweat.
NOTE 1: If using on your hands, try to wear cotton gloves to bed because zinc oxide SHOULD NOT get in eyes/nose/mouth.
NOTE 2: Continue to use medicated creams for psoriasis, if available.
Remember, when you are somewhere and do not have medicated creams with you, there is usually a drug store (or a parent with a young child/baby) around from whom you can get zinc oxide creams.
In short, zinc oxide CREAM will help moisturize skin and help skin to heal.
