I got my prescription this month for Zatean-Pn DHA and there is brown spots all over the pill is there something wrong with the pill? I am 16 weeks and I am nervous to take the pills and the pharamcy is very rude when I ask them about it and they say that they were not like that when they filled them. But I checked the bottle as soon as I picked up the script and they had the spots. Please help I am scared to take them!!!

hi nini920. I am a 1st time mom.8 months pregnant taking the zatean pn dha pills. mine are oval and green. i never had a problem until last week. mine were also brown spotted, and had that brown liquid all over the entire bottle as well as the cotton inside. the fish smell was unbearable.i wasn't about to trust it since the other bottles were fine since july. i'm having my Dr. write out another prescription today and throwing the defective ones out. i notified my insurance company and that's what they told me to do. the pharmacy couldnt really help because mine are only shipped to them from my insurance company.the pharmacy said that the pills leaked. but there is no recall on any website.which is how i came across your story. the pills are probably just delicate and the shippers are not. so, get another prescription. If they give u a prob,go to another pharmacy. And if that doesent work, have your Dr. change the prescription. good luck.

I went to another pharmacy and they told me it was just the iron soaking thru. They ordered me a new bottle and took back the old one and they sent back to the manufacturer. Nobody charged me. The pharmacy reassured me that nothing was wrong and they wouldn't harm me or the baby. Hopefully they can get them back to you before you run out. Good luck to you as well!

I've been taking the same pills for 6 months now and none of them have had them.
I have been taking this for 4 months now. All of the first four bottles smelled like vanilla ice cream... pills were a solid color- lime green, and big.
I just picked up my next refill yesterday and when I opened the bottle the pills smelled horrible... like manure, I poured the pills into my hand and the pills had little brown spots, different sizes and not at all regular repeating patterns. I put them back in the bottle and plan on taking them back. Note the safety did not appear broken. Before going back to the pharmacy I stopped here, on line to see if I could find any similar reports and I stumbled on this post.
I can tell you that last night I washed my hands many times trying to get the bad smell off my hand; I eventually had to soak it for around an hour in warm soapy water to get it to go away. I’ll come back and write more when I find out what the pharmacy has to say…
've had this problem 2 other times since this post. I haqd my doctor call in something else and yet to have a problem with it.
My pharmacy replaced my bottle. The pharmacist said that he sees this occasionally and understands it is caused by the pills having been exposed to extreme heat. & since I picked them up late last night and was in there first thing this morning, he is sure it was not me leaving them in my car during the day that caused the damage to the pills. Rather he believes it occurred before they arrived to his store (it is a mom/pop pharmacy and I'm the only one taking the pills so they order them for me and aren't sitting o the shelves long at all).
So that is my 2 cents- if you come across pills like this again, this Rx or other gel caps, return them to the pharmacy- if they are new & if they are not new and rather you soiled them in your car or other hot area…you might want to cough up the money to replace them... because the smell is horrible. I cannot imagine the taste.
