Many years ago, I had a friend with the same problem it was really bad. I suggested putting Aloe Vera gel on it 3-5 times daily. Also take up to 8 tablespoons of Aloe Vera Juice daily and that sure helped him. Infact his Physician was shocked on how well this worked.
BTW: Aloe Vera is Natural Cactus, found in many natural health food stores,
You can grow your own Aloe Vera plants. Easy to grow.

I had that as well and its turned into psoriatic arthritis. I tried all the creams and unfortunately the disease is actually under the skin. The cream is just for the itching is what I have found out. They put me on methotrexate for teh psoriasis and it helped wonderfully. I am also on other stuff but I am pretty sure that is the one that is for the psoriasis. Dont wait to get it treated or it could turn into arthritis.

I developed psoriasis after a very bad sunburn where I fell asleep outside on a fourth of july with alot of alcohol in my system. I thought it was a reaction to the sun and I used oatmeal and sugar to exfoliate and try to clear my skin. That made it even worse. After many weeks of not getting better I started to see many different physicians and had biopsies and testing done to confirm that it was in fact Psoriasis. I ended up trying so many things that didn't work and finally saw a physician by the name of Dr. Itkins in Mission Valley, CA who pushed my insurance company into approving Stelera for me. It worked instantly and other than the faint skin discolorations here and there you could not tell I ever had it. However after finding out that I was pregnant I had to discontinue my medication and feared that it would return.
Hi Im in CA too I am currently on Methotrexate but my Doc is thinking i may have a better result with Stelera... wht am i in store for with the new drug the psoriasis has spread to my arms like wild fire & my knees & shin still have the same patch since college... oh yeah dont let me tell you about the itching
Thanks for the advise MRG
I didn't experience any side effects at all from Stelera but the doctors told me that it attacks the immune system to make it stop working on overdrive and generating new skin so if I got sick I would be at risk of it becoming more serious. I would imagine that taking many vitamins and vitamin c may help with preventing sicknesses that would affect your immune system.

Thanks pattishan61. We , he dosent have insurance, but I will tell him mabe find out how much it will cost for a dermatolagist. Thank you chicco
dear chicco ive suffered from psoriasis for all my life and it sucks but theres hope. If your husband doesnt have insurance it makes it tough to go to a dermatologist, plus theyll want to give you creams and ointments which without insurance r typically around 60 to 120 dollars a tube.So try this in order to really see results you have to get to the route of the problem. Start by telling your husband to soak in the tub every night not steaming hot but hot enough. What this does is it soaks the plaques after being in there for a while tell him to gently start to massage the scales of the plaques of the psoriasis. Now this is the stage you want your spots to be in because the scales almost act like a sheild so the medicine doesnt take full affect, and theres another problem ointments and creams always rub off shortly after u put them on rendering a ointment therapy frustrating, but i got that covered to.

After every night of the bath thing a soon as he dries off hell be left with dark red spots with no scales this is a little soar at first but this is what u want . now before he does the bathing go to your local pharmacy pick up scar bandages they stick to your skin and there clear. There to put ointments on scars so the medicine doesnt rub off but it works just as good with psoriasis. after bath put on medicicne whatever your ointment preferably or cream right on scaless spots. Right after put the scar patch on over the spot this will keep the medicine on the spots all night and till next bath then repeat again every night and in two weeks youll se a drastic improvement . Then {dont laugh go tanning in a booth} sun helps psoriasis but in tanning booths you can control how long you stay only 8 min. Still continue the patch thing and tanning for 4 weeks good luck
