Would Ropinirole possibly help sleeplessness from Fibromyalgia pain?

Hey queenann,

Might I suggest Savella. It acts on dopamine just like the Ropinirole and is prescribed for fibromyalgia pain. There are several other meds that I might suggest as well. They are Lyrica, Neurontin and Cymbalta. The first two are prescribed for nerve type pain, the last is actually an antidepressant tha is also prescribed for fibro.

Hi QueenAnn,
Have you tried Melatonin to help get some Z's? If worse comes to worst, you can ask for something like Valium (a benzodiazapine, which can be addictive if taken for a long period of time) to take on occasion.
Hope you get some sleep soon, I know how you feel, fibro sucks!!!

You are correct Lara that melatonin would help. I have severe fibro, and I take a beautiful formula developed by Swanson Vitamins called "Sleep Essentials" that is filled with herbs such as Passion Flower, Hops and several others plus melatonin. It seems that people with fibro don't make melatonin anymore, and it is produced while you sleep. Ironic isn't it? Any how, you can take one, two or as many pills as you need to sleep, and it won't hurt you, nor will you OD. I have to take two per night. It is not addictive either. BTW, Swanson sells it for something like 2.99 for 60 capsules. Good luck!!
