I was recently prescribed this and not finding it too helpful for back pain. It's so new, I'm reluctant to take it without knowing more about it. Don't want to go back on hydrocodone as it is/was pretty tough to stop.

I can understand you apprehension for not going back on hydrocodone. I was there once myself. I am now on methadone, which I would not recommend either or as a last resort. I have never heard of nucynta. If it helps and is not habbit forming all the better. Good luck. You can look it up on the Drugs A to Z forum on this web site. Again good luck.
