Wisdom teeth and pain relief?
- 8 Jun 2010 by Psychmajor
Alright... so i just got my wisdom teeth out (top 2 since thats all i had) and the pain is still really bad... this is after the novacain wore off and i took 1 lortab 7.5 and its not doing anything. Everyone keeps telling me the top 2 teeth are the easiest as far as pain and problems happening so i dont know how to go about asking the dentist for either a dosage and/or frequency increase or med change since it will probably seem like im just drug seeking since "the top teeth hurt the least"
takes 15 mg before any pain relief is found as far as previous injuires are concerned so im thinking either 2tab every 4-6 or oxy every 4-6...

You may have developed "dry sockets" Tell your dentist the level of pain you are in. How long ago were they pulled? You should be out of pain within a few days. Please call him and let him know. If you need to take more than prescribed, ask him to please increase the dosage as you are not getting the relief needed. Sorry to hear about your tooth pain, that is right up there with migraines. Good luck to you. You may want to use ice packs for some relief too.

My daughter had the same problem and she had dry sockets just like Christine said. Call the doctor and tell him whats going on - depending on how long they have been pulled, there shouldn't be that kind of pain by now.
