been putting on back of hand under first,plastic tape and then paper tape. i hade acut about 11/2 inches lung i was treating. area now appears to have dermatitis. wound site is no infected.

How long have you been using benzoin tincture for? It shouldn't be used constantly for more than 7 days. Give breaks in between. Yes, it can cause irritation on the applied area and it's possible that dermatitis in that area has been caused by benzoin.
