Hi there,
I am currently taking Lutera-28 oral birth control and was wondering if you could answer my question.
Could taking Extra Strength Acidophilus Probiotic Gold, Made With Bioflora every day, decrease the effectivness of my
daily birth control? I find that taking the probiotic is helpful to me and would like to continue taking it-- but i worry taking it
with my birth control. What are your thoughts?

A probiotic shouldn't effect your birth control in any way, I take Culterelle and Rephresh Pro B everyday however I am on Ortho Cyclin and unfamiliar with Lutera 28. I can tell you a couple of things to avoid while on the pill as they have be known to decrease the effectiveness. Contrary to popular belief, antibiotics won't decrease your bc pills. The one exception is a bactericidal antibiotic drug called rifampin also remember to use back up bc ( I like VCF ) if you ever drink alcohol, it will definately decrease your pill's effectiveness! If you still feel unsure, ask your doc or talk to your local pharmacist, personally I get more answers from my pharmacist, she's on my speed dial! Hope that helps, good luck! =)
