my dentist said need kto have a root canal but he gave me pencillin for the infection shouldnt that clear it up
Will pencillin keep me from having to have a root canal?

Actualy they can do a root canal if you have an infection. I just had an emergancy one in Sept. My tooth and one whole side of my mouth was infected. I didn't even take any meds untill after the procedure when I oicked up antibiotics on the way home.

I shouldn't have said "can't"-they will do them in an emergency but usually they prefer to wait to get the infection to clear! Never say never-right?

yeah thats the problem is insur umm but i have 40 pill for 10day i was just thinking that would get rid of the infection
You could probably call an endodontist to double check but I'm thinking the you'll have to do both. Bummer!
I hate to say it but an extraction is an option too. Much less expensive but not the most attractive either.
