I had an incident after surgery on my knee, where I asperated . The nurse had left the room, she returned 5 or 6 minutes later to find I and stopped breathing and my heart was not beating. They were able to revive me but according to my Neurologist, there has been minor brain damage. I have tremors, cannot write or speak without much difficulty. The only thing she has perscribed for me is Klonipin and then Primidone, and they are not working very well after a few weeks. She said there is NOTHING ELSE, and refuses to try anything else. I am 79 yrs old. What can I do???
Will inderal help stop or ease tremors?
Added 21 Jan 2011:
I just had an office visit with my Neurologist, yesterday 1/18/11 .She felt that Inderal would not help or stop my tremors. She said not with my condition.
She did have a name for this problem, but sorry I couldn't understand it. She told me to stay on Klonipin & primidone, she would't change the dose, only the time that I take it, My next appointment is in 6 months.

I totally agree with Suzanne about a second opinion. I was seeing 1 Neurologist for migraine she thought her methods were supreme but after crashing my car on her med. cocktail I went somewhere else. It's amazing how different the second opinion was. Now I'm migraine free.

I think you did wonderful writing your question! If you have some brain damage from the brain being starved of oxygen ( not breathing) I'm sure the effects cannot be reversed. Please consider yourself very lucky to be here, & able to function at all. You could be in a coma or something, & totally dependent on someone else. I am very sorry this has happened to you, & wish you all the best. It must be very frustrating. Best of luck to you... Mary
