Poppy seed, if you tell them that you are in withdrawal, they may only give you fluids and something to take the edge off, like clonidine. if you go there and tell them you are in severe pain for whatever reason you were taking the pain meds in the first place, there is a chance they will give you Dilaudid IV, and then a prescription for about a weeks worth of meds. I've gone to the ER for migraines and they have given me Demerol or Dilaudid after first trying other meds which didn't help with the pain. they have a protocol which they must follow depending on what you approach them with. missing appointments is exactly why they drop you from their care. it is not right, but it is what they do. Good luck with this!! NIK
