If someone is taking 4.5mg Naltrexone as an alternative to traditional lung cancer treatment and their cancer pain is getting worse, can they take 15mg morphine(they have a prescription) safely? Will they have a violent reaction or will the LDN simply block out the narcotic (morphine) ?

Hi Sharon,
I don't know if it would be a violent reaction, but I don't think you should do it. I was told you must be off all opiates for 11 days before taking any amount of Naltrexone. In high doses (50 mg) Naltrexone is used as an opiate antidote (I think). Naltrexone is supposed to be similar to Naloxone and I'm pretty sure Naloxone is an opiate antidote. I'm sure that's not the medical word for it. I call it that because it neutralizes opiates but it also causes unpleasant withdrawal symptoms (wds) as it does that. I'm afraid even a low dose of Naltrexone will cause you very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms if you mix them. So I have to say don't do it.
