My sister was diagnosised with a fatty liver. The np that she's been seeing gave her 45mg Actos to help her liver. She has no diabetic problems and there have been issues with this med and heart problems. I told her not to take it until she asks a real dr.
Why would someone give Actos 45 to a patient with a fatty liver, but no diabetes?

Actos is used as an "off label" treatment for nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases. If you do need more information or clarification please discuss with the prescribing doctor ... they will be able to explain how it works for fatty liver.
