My mom has been taking this medication for a year and her doctor told her this morning that she won't be able to have her script renewed, depending on what the test he did this morning shows. Her tests were taken a month apart, and both show nothing in her system. She was told that her doctor has to report these findings and she is concerned, but most of all because she wants to know if she should have her liver or kidneys tested to see if anthing shows there? I suggested that she have her doctor perform a hair or blood test. What I want to know, does anyone know why it wouldn't show up in her urine? THANKS!!

Urine tests can sometimes not be accurate plain and simple and now Drs want to place a persons future pain management on these inaccurate tests. Tell them you want it sent to a lab not done on an in office test strip. The only other possibility is that she is a fast metabolizer and he is testing between her doses since she is only twice daily likely morning and evening. Some people clear medications really fast. The only other recourse you have is to have the Dr watch her swallow the pill and come back in a few hours to give a urine sample. If it shows negative again then you have your answer! They are wanting to test people to try to weed out those who may be diverting their medications but these tests are not always accurate and he may have a bad batch or whatever.

I'm not totally sure but I have taking almost 100 drug test in the past several years. I'm curious how things work, CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT! I've tried several things. I have a serious stomach condition wrong nauseated him puke all the time. The one thing that I've found to alleviate the pain in my stomach as well is increased my appetite, marijuana. It works for pain, it works for bad stomach, it works for poor appetite and so much more. That's another story. Whenever you take a drug test, they tell you get a full stream going the and P in the cup. I've found one trick to pass for marijuana on the simple stick test. Use your first amount of urine that comes out and do not, do not, do not fill the cup up all they need is a bout a quarter of an inch in the bottom. I have pass seven drug test for marijuana when I smoke the day before so I know this works.
I'm not trying to ramble but I'm trying to get a point across there are several ways in instances that can give you false readings. Is your mother one of those type of people that walked around all day long with a bottle of water in her hand. One big question, does she drink distilled water? Distilled water acts like a magnet it has no minerals chemicals etc. in so when it goes through your body it sucks all the negative materials up. I wish I could help more I was just trying to tell you some other things that I've been through the can give you a better idea. I've had false drug test results myself. IT'S NOT COOL.
