Would this drug be harmful to someone who doesn't have mood swings. It wasn't the shrinks diagnosis, he only seen him twice. His mother spent most of the sessions doing the talking to this doctor. Only she didn't tell him that she moved him away from the person who raised him from birth, transfered him to another school, with 10 weeks left in the school year, and all his friends. Could this drug be harmful to him.

Ohiokid,
In answer to your question, although Trileptal is commonly used as an anticonvulsant to help suppress seizure disorders, it also works well in children and some adults to help control panic disorders and bipolar disorders. Make sure you have hard candy and/or gum on hand because it does tend to cause dry mouth. If you don't see any change in the child's mood swings after a few days, notify his/her doctor. Hope this helps.
