Why would Ampyra (Fampridine), used to improve walking function, affect kidney/bladder function? I assume that the UTIs are the result of incomplete voiding of urine which then can result in toxicity and infection. Does Ampyra specifically affect the bladder nerves/muscles? And, if so, how and does it also affect other seemingly unrelated muscles?
Why is Ampyra associated with increased risk of UTIs?
