Why do the yellow norco work better than white ones?

im on percocet 10/325 daily for tmj, and i find that the yellow tablets work much better then the round white ones. why, i dont know, i think that different manufacturers actually dont put in the same formula as others making one brand better to work then others. ive picked up my percocet from the pharmacy, i take it and it works, then the next time i get a refill sometimes it dont. i think alot of it has to do with tolerance level to the pain pill. hope this helped
