I asked my GI doc about following a xifaxan dosage (for SIBO) with a lose-dose erythromycin as suggested by Pementel's protocol. He seemed too happy to oblige and called in an Rx to a compound pharmacy, they called me and said the med needs to be compounded as a capsule. Is it just me or is that absurd, I have searched online and it is a generic med and doesn't it come as a pill from generic mfgr's?
Why compounded erythromycin?
