My bottle has a warning on it, but I can't find any information on it. Also, is it dangerous to have cup of coffee in the morning while on lithium? I know I'm to avoid all caffeine, but some of my meds make it impossible to function in the morning (too sedated)

The only thing I found about lithium and food interactions was for caffiene such as from coffee and alcohol. So I am not sure about the apple juice but the problem with coffee is if you are use to drinking it and you stop, the lithium can increase in your blood levels causing toxicity problem. So as long as you stay on the same amount daily, you should be alright.
Avoid alcohol because the combination of lithium and alcohol can increase central nervous system depression and affect your psychomotor skills, judement and thinking.

Hi thewhoseit, I'm on Lithium since 2007. I am able to have apple juice and coffee. The only thing I was told to avoid was old cheese, wine (red) and beer. Now that I have been on it for awhile I can have wine (white) and beer. I always could have hard liquor but in moderation. I only drink 1 or 2 so it was never a problem. Hope this helps!

I discovered no ibpoperin (sic) is also not good with Lithium. I avoid grapefruit not because of anything I know about lithium interaction because it can cause effects and it is easier than looking up every med for grapefruit even though I love it;)

Yes, Di, many sodas like regular coke and pepsi contain caffeine. As long as you don't drastically change the quantity of caffeine you drink, you should be ok to consume caffeinated beverages though.
