... Dr. or the pharmacist?
I want to know if I can take Toradol with my Fioricet because neither is working on my HA alone.
Thanks!

Meaning no disrespect Marjorie but I've seen many instances of a pharmacist actually being the one to catch drug interactions that docs did not realize. The pharmacist (not pharmacy techs) is better trained in the chemistry of drugs than a lot of docs. Yes-the Dr may know her better but in the case of interactions between meds, sometimes I think the pharmacist is the better one to ask. Just my opinion based on past observations and working closely with both.
Dzoobaby,
You are probably right now that you put it that way. They are trained just in meds so I would imagine they would be more likely to catch things thanks for pointing that out, no offense taken by the way I am open to anyones point of view, thanks again, marjorie zych

the pharmacy that you go to has your drug profile and once you ask them then they will be more apt to do as Dzoobaby said give you a faster answer, but you can always call the prescribing doctor but sometimes (most often) it takes a good while to get the answer- I hope you find the answer and feel better soon best wishes,
but as Laurie was trying to point out faster isn't always better I was not thinking about the one instance in which I was given an answer that was not compatible with what the doctor told me, people (Pharmacists) can make mistakes but when dealing with everyday life its serious
I think both points are valid-thanks for your input! I think for my particular intents & purposes, I just needed a simple answer from the pharmacist, but in general, especially if other issues were involved, I wouldn't mess around without calling the doc. As a former MA, (medical assistant), I guarantee that if a patient called in to ask, we would always recommend they call the dr.'s office unless it's a simple, strictly medicine related question, as mine was. I think it's a question worth discussing though, so thanks again!

Excellent point, Dzoo-thanks!
she does a great job!!
Yep, the pharmacist will answer you quicker but not always as accurately. I have had pharmacists give me inaccurate information, believe it or not. Talking to your doctor is a safer bet. Did you check the interaction checker on this site? Doesn't appear to be any interaction between these two drugs. Hope I am not out of place, but just being honest.
I had forgotten that but what you say is true I haven't had it happen but once and I don't know whether they are busy and keep moving on from one person to the other but pharmacists sometimes make a mistake, and when you're dealing with what they are a wrong answer can be disaster
Ya, that's why I was curious about other opinions-I was torn too... in my experience, the M.D. does know more, but in this case, which was a simple question about contraindications of medicine interactions, the pharmacist proved to answer my question quite quickly. I did look up the contraindications myself, but I just wanted to be sure. P.S., the answer was yes, I can take both Fioricet & Toradol together-yea! I did, and my HA actually seems to be gone for the moment! knock on wood. I don't want to have to take this too often as I felt quite loopy & sleepy and had to go to take a nap for awhile. Little price to pay to get rid of a 14 day HA if you ask me!
Thanks for all your help!
yayyy, glad you got some relief. I figured you would get sleepy but as you said a small price to pay. Enjoy your nap and take care.
