Which is better for panic attacks xanax, valium or atarax?

You are right xanax is addicting and so is valium diazepam, both belong to the family of benzodiazepines, but for panic attacks xanax is the one you need.-

I take xanax er for my anxiety and panic disorder and it does help me very much.

Valium treats anxiety , alcohol withdrawal, muscle spasms and
seizures (when used along with other seizure medications). It may also be used before certain medical procedures (such as endoscopies) to reduce tension and anxiety, and in some surgical procedures to induce amnesia. It possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, sedative, skeletal muscle relaxant, and amnestic properties.

Destiny, Maso is right, all benzos can be addicting, the Atarax is supposedly non addicting, it is actually an antihistamine, but does calm people. Therapy and medications that calm people work together, the therapy will help you learn how not to panic and cause the attacks and what to do to get over one quickly. Certain antidepressants can help alleviate them as well. With me, a small amount of the NON extended release generic Prozac really helped keep me calm, I only needed 10 mgs per day. Hang in there and talk to your doctor about your concerns. If you use the benzos, short term use or as needed with an attack will keep you safe from becoming addicted/dependent on them.
