Which is better for acid reflux - Prevacid or Prilosec?

Each of these meds work in different ways. I use nexium and it works well. As far as the others I would aske\ your doctor which would best help your condition. Sometimes OTC meds that are indicated for the same condition but work in different ways which may not suit your needs Hope this helps

I have been eating Actifed along with Prilosec. Now that works pretty good I no longer have break through.

Prilosec is quite better than prevacid.

I started quite a few years ago on aciphex, that helped quite a bit but after a while seemed to lose its effectiveness. Dr switched me to Prilosec and that also seemed to work for quite a while. Now, been on Nexium for about 9 months. It works well for the reflux but now I think I'm experiencing quite a few side effects that have me concerned. Going to meet with my Dr soon to discuss and may get off Nexium.

prevacid worked better for me than prilosec, but niether work completly for me so now i am going to try kapidex.

dont limit yourself to one or the other. ask your doc if he has a preference with his patients with similar conditions as you have.

I have tried nexium and prilosec... the nexium worked great for me... my husband had a hernia as well and he takes protonix.
