It is not recommended that amikacin be given as a direct i.v. push.
It is normally given as an infusion over 30 minutes.

so true that AMIKACIN is given by infusion and also by i.m injection(absoption into blood is also satisfactory, but what problem could happen if accidentally i.v direct push is given? and then what remedy then should be given ? )
I assume it'll be really hard on the patients veins and may cause damage.
