I started taking roxycodone for recreational use about 2 months ago. It didn't take long before my body became dependent on it. I was up to 3 sometimes 4 30mgs a day. I had a breakdown Tuesday night once I realized I was not being able to function as a mother without and also was on the verge of losing my job. I started Thursday detoxing my body. Wed was the last day I took a roxy. I don't want to give up but how much longer and how much worse is this detox going to get? Help!

i would suggest, if these are being prescribed to you by your dr, to ask to be put on a taper plan. i am on a very slow taper from percocet 10//325, the withdrawls are painfull and awefull. its not gonna be easy, but with the rite support you can do it, im at 130 mgs a day, 3 days ago i was at 162.5 mgs a day. it was painfull, but i got thru it. and ill be reducing my mgs a little today. be strong and come here to the site at anytime. youve got lots of support here, hang in there

Thanks for your response. I just jumped right in there and detoxed my body. I know everyones body is different but I took a cpl days off from work and said I'm just going to go for it. By day 1 and half I was up and out. Was weak for the next two days so I couldn't do too much at a time. Its now day 3 and I feel fabulous. Restless leg syndrome gets me at night bigtime but during the day I'm functioning like I used to before my addiction. I am so thankful for the love and support of my family and friends. I will never turn back. My advice don't do it little by little, lowering doses. Just make the commitment and go for it. It will be painful but it will not last forever and the benefit is amazing... I have my life back.
