I was told by a pharmacist that the production of Elmiron was discontinued. Is that true, and if so, is there a suggested replacement for treatment of Interstitial cystitis. This was working for the patient and now she cannot get hold of it.

Elmiron has not been discontinued, its just that at one point my health area lost its supplier Teva UK because they did not renew the contract for more. I am a patient with IC and I searched until I found a new supply which as it happen is distributed by Idis UK - they have a branch in USA and that is where the drugs come from. I was able to use a community prescription from my hospital consultant so I could collect at Superdrug until my hospital managed to set up an order direct from Idis instead of Teva. Now I get them every 3 mths from the hospital pharmacy.
